  1. Second video of 2017! Its about time we connected the KSC and Island Strip... With a monorail.
  2. Today, I built a monorail... To finally connect the KSC and Island Strip:
  3. I don't think anyone has done an Apollo style moon mission using only SRBs:
  4. Thanks! I hope you enjoy what my channel has to offer. Yea, the small adjustments are done by pairs of seperatrons. In the case of the docking, I fired the seperatrons one at a time. Since they don't provide much thrust and they don't burn for very long, the relatively weak reaction wheels on the capsule are able to counter the rotation induced.
  5. A new year, a new video! This time, I go to the Moon using only solid rocket boosters:
  6. Today, I went to the Moon. Using only SRBs.
  7. Got ya covered! While this is technically from 1.05, it should still work in 1.2: Mods were used for aesthetics and info, but otherwise, the craft is completely stock.
  8. After a little hiatus due to RL, I've come back! This time, I decide to set up a Jool communications network... In one launch.
  9. My proudest accomplishment in KSP is creating the first stock fully reusable Eve mission: Prior to that, I was pretty proud of my stock grand tour; Although, since it was done in 0.24 before the areo-changes, its not all the impressive anymore.
  10. At over 20,000 tons, this was the largest thing I've ever launched in KSP: I also launched this thing: Its only 10,000 tons, but at 1782 parts, its the most complicated thing I've ever launched.
  11. Today, I sent 500 kerbals to Minmus... ...Using only SRBs:
  12. Since we've reached 500 subs, its time for a special video: Thank you to everyone who has supported my channel over the past year. I wouldn't be here without you!
  13. Oh, S***, sorry my mistake. I meant to say Vector. Getting my engines mixed up
  14. The problem with NERVAs is that their TWR is simply too low. Eve's gravity is brutal, and you really need high TWR throughout the entire flight to make it into orbit. Plus, NERVAs add a TON of mass to your ship, thus reducing the effectiveness of your high TWR mammoth engine. Same deal with aerospikes: too heavy for too little thrust. Plus, the aerospikes barely provide an improvement over the vector, so you are probably better off just using only vectors. Another problem with using Aerospikes/NERVAs is that they force you to use more attachment nodes, and thus, add more drag to your ship. Since Eve's atmosphere is so thick, this is actually a big problem. All in all, you are just better off using only mammoths or vectors. They have the highest TWRs in the game, and they have great ISPs at both sea level and in a Vacuum. Perfect for an Eve launch vehicle.
  15. Yea, the new version did fix it: It also greatly improved the quality of the textures. Beforehand, the Dres canyon walls were more muddy-white. Now, they have a proper "rocky" texture. I forgot to mention earlier, but, thanks for getting this issue as well as the scatterer sun-flare incompatibility resolved. I really appreciate all the hard work modders like you put into KSP to make it into the incredibly diverse sandbox that it is.
  16. Agreed. I'm against procedural terrain in KSP for exactly this reason. Just look at Duna for instance. Its procedural hills, while cool at first, quickly wear out their welcome. Once you've seen one expanse of rolling hills on Duna, you've seen them all. Handcrafted planets will always be more interesting than procedural ones to me. Imagine how cool Duna would be if the Dev's hand crafted dormant volcanoes, canyons, ancient river beds and deltas, and craters to cover Duna's surface. Sure, a procedural generator can create these features (Just look at space engine, for example). However, only a human designer can design the features to compliment one another; to make Duna feel like a real and interesting planet, rather than a mish-mash of randomly generated noise.
  17. I once tried to build a giant rocket SSTO: I did manage to get it off the pad eventually. Unfortunately, it would usually have an "anomaly" half way through the flight.
  18. August is here! And that means another video:
  19. This was my very first screenshot in KSP. Back in 0.19: Yes, it was a successful landing. I still remember the sheer sense of accomplish when I pulled it off: Ahhh, good times!
  20. One more video before the end of the month. This time, I go to Dres and back using only one engine: the Mk55 "Thud"!
  21. Today, I went to Dres. But, I only had one Mk55 "Thud" to do it:
  22. Flat rockets are fun! They are quite an interesting engineering challenge to build and control, especially if they are really short and wide. Here's what a 70 cm tall rocket to Moho looks like: Also, I think you should clarify the rules of your challenge. For example, whats the maximum height allowed? Or, is there a maximum ratio of height to width? Is there going to be a scoring system? Are mods allowed?
  23. Thats interesting... I was certain that SVT wasn't to blame because the issue came up without it being installed. I guess I was wrong. My apologies for reporting this bug to you, @blackrack
