  1. Mesuda 2: Goal: To test liquid fueled rockets, staging and reach 10 km, piloted by Bill Kerman Unlike the previous rocket, the rocket quickly soars and controls more easily. The rocket burns out about the same time as Medusa I. The decoupler works as planned. Just above 15km, Bill deploys the parachute. A slight problem has arisen... The engine and fuel is falling awfully close to the launchpad... Bill, your paying for that! The fuel tank and decoupler survive the landing. Bill bets he'll land next to the fuel tank. "Gene, you owe me 50 dollars." Liquid fueled rockets and staging are the future. Bob has a even bigger idea that may take the first kerbal to space! - - - Updated - - - Mesuda III: Goal:Test multi-staged rockets and exit the atmosphere. Bob is flying this one. Liftoff! First stage separates, the second stage is reused parts from Medusa II with a LV-909 engine attached. We did it! Bob will be the first kerbal to enter space! And half the fuel is left, although sadly the stage is decoupled as they don't want Bob to go too high... yet. Bob reenters the atmosphere. He lands in the water offshore of KSP.
  2. Mesuda 1: Goals: Launch a dusted-off SRB with a prototype pod, the Mk1 Mesuda I sitting on the launchpad, Jebidiah waits for the launch order. And we have liftoff of Medusa I! Jebidiah is having fun for sure, even with the overheating light flashing, height at 4 and a half km. And we have burnout at 14km. Apogee at 18 km. Medusa I begins to fall down to Kerbin. Jeb deploys the parachute. The parachute opens. Splashdown! The rocket falls over, but Jeb is recovered before it sinks. (Sorry for not putting up the pictures sooner)
  3. The Kerbals had long been looking at the cosmos and more recently the Mun and even more recently how to get there and what it would be like. Of course, back then there had been something else to worry about. Finances, your daughter's boyfriend, getting to work and of course snacks. Always with the snacks. Only after the Second Kerbin War had anyone thought of seriously going to space and having the technology to do so. While the rest of the world was focusing on rebuilding, only one nation-the Union of Kafican States had actually survived and thrived during the war-mainly due to rumors of a snack destroyer ray that may or may not be true. The UKS founded the KASP (KAfican Space Program) to send a kerbal to the Mun and beyond! Of course, they have to get there first. The KASP space program will stage 3 programs to get to the Mun. Medusa-Get a kerbal into orbit and bring him back. Metis-Develop skills to go to the Mun. Athena-Land a kerbal on the Mun and bring him back alive! (Note this is completely stock and in the sandbox mode.)
  4. I'm assuming the UK will develop there own program soon-ish. Thanks for the mod list! Also, nice job with the black and white pictures!
  5. Yes there is, go to options (main menu, paused won't work), it should be under video. If the game window is too large, (the apply changes button is hidden or under the taskbar), you may need to move it temporarily, although make sure put it back later! Also, could you give me a list of the mods?
  6. One of the first serious 0.90 playthroughs! Finally! Also, try adding screenshots from here on out. Keep going!
  7. Nice! I'm guessing this is modded, could you add a list? Thanks, and keep going!
  8. New to your story, like it a lot so far! Can't wait for you to make more!
  9. After about 2 weeks back from vacation, I forgot about the challange. :3 But I am finally working on it again! And apperantly, I deleted the safe file for the project... D: Oh well, I was still making a probe design to test out the ship. Now, I am gonna work on some probe launches, 4 of them, 1 for the asteroid moons, (Bop and Pol), 1 for the "normal" moons (Vall and Tylo), 1 for Laythe, and 1 will attempt to land on ALL of them, probably being launched from a "beta" mother ship, while the others will be launched with standard rockets. This is to help complete a manned lander design, and learn a small bit about the moons, as they have only be seen via telescope. More details later!
  10. Cool ! I assume the current missions are like the first Gemini missions. Keep it up!
  11. I am taking a 2 week break from the Jool 5 challange, for 2 reasons. 1. I have started playing career mode with Better Than Starting Manned. 2. I am going to South Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, for 2 weeks, and I leave tomorrow. My computer's files will be reorganized during this, so I cannot bring it. Once this period is done, I will resume the challange again!
  12. Nope, it's too easy to use a rocket, you could just orbit Kerbin.
