  1. Yes, RealChute replaces the stock parachute module.
  2. I remember right (I might not), OSE Workshop is configurable through file editing to not require Kerbals.
  3. Parachute Spread in Stock Bug Fixes, The mod was made stock. Turn on advanced tweakables.
  4. DRM doesn't stop piracy, all it does is cause headaches for people who legitimately own the game. True piracy will still happen. It is possible to download plenty of cracked games that originally shipped with DRM and the people that cracked it had no trouble doing so. Meanwhile DRM often causes system latent system hardware incompatibilities and affects performance and in the past has been known to cause physical damage to computer components. Ultimately, DRM was a failed industry wide experiment that some foolish companies still cling to for reasons unknown... and it's costing them sales. A large portion of PC gamers will not buy games with DRM.
  5. No, I recall Gene or Werner saying atmosphere was what holds you up and what slows you down (paraphrased of course, there is no way I could provide a direct quote from that long ago). You know those tutorials, they intentionally dumb it down for the sake of explanation, but that's the terminology people are going to use on the thread if it is in the game.
  6. I don't recall off the top of my head. It's been a while. It had to do with reentry though.
  7. In the tutorials, when it describes craft going through the atmosphere.
  8. I find it quite disturbing that you would tell people that using the terminology the game uses is improper.
  9. Because it is all related and people don't know the difference. Atmosphere is used as a generic term to refer to "not vacuum". It's not just here either, the actual game does this.
  10. You do understand that drag and lift coefficients, among other things are what the player base refers to when they say "atmosphere"? This OP is about exactly that.
  11. Not entirely accurate. It changed many times after 1.0, and on into 1.1.
  12. You can also force both games to use the same folder for saving/loading craft.
  13. How is your landing profile? You compared to the real shuttle, but the real shuttle practically did a nosedive into the runway and then flared at the end. It sounds like you are trying to land it on a nice flat glide slope like a plane, the shuttle didn't have enough wing to do that.
  14. Just found this thanks to the TTOM. I thought I'd post a few of my pictures. Our primary viewing apparatus. Peak eclipse for Tyler, Texas. I work for a company that makes electronic test equipment. This is one of my coworkers using a DAQ (Data Acquisition) product we make (it's inside the tin can, the box is just shade for the computer screen) that has a light sensor on it to graph the eclipse. Sadly, I never obtained a picture of the graph, but it was a near perfect sine wave with the exception of spikes caused by clouds. He was also attempting to graph the temperature with the sensor on the device, but there was a flaw in the setup... the black car radiated more heat than the shining sun. A lesson for 7 years from now when we are in the path of totality.
  15. I just think it was a weak and underwhelming video for the 1.0 release to begin with. Of course the 1.0 release of KSP was weak and underwhelming so maybe it fit.
  16. Yes, Module Manager. The tech tree itself a text file in "Kerbal Space Program\GameData\Squad\Resources". Parts are assigned to a node from within their own part config files. You can edit these directly, but it's best to do it using a Module Manager script so changes can be easily undone. That is how all those mods you've seen do it.
  17. Anything can have security flaws but vBulletin is quite secure. On the other hand, it's a bit like comparing Windows to macOS/OSX. Mac isn't more secure because they get hacked less, hackers just aren't interested in such an incredibly small percentage of the computer population. The inverse can be said for Windows Phone vs iOS too. vBulletin is the most popular forum software out there by an impressively massive margin, so it's more likely to be targeted, it's the price of success. phpBB is a free open source project by the way, and IPS is not. I just mentioned phpBB for it's style though, I wasn't suggesting Squad switch to it... and I never thought you worked for Squad
  18. Nah, it's just IPS. vBulletin doesn't look anything like Facebook. Neither does phpBB or Discourse or really any other. Squad just decided to pick the worst one out there.
  19. I wasn't just talking about the emoji. Go open Facebook and this forum and put them side by side. The way it is now, it's Facebook.
  20. @The Dunatian I think you missed an important one.... Squad Employee. They are here because they are paid to be here.
  21. I vote we have a forum software that isn't trying desperately to be Facebook.
  22. EDIT: Nevermind, I misunderstood the original request.
  23. No idea. But I do know EVE does eclipse shadows. In fact, they are a little buggy. They remove all light, not just the light from the Sun. So your landing lights are useless.
  24. I think EVE is doing that. I see that and I don't use Scatterer.
