  1. From latest to first (maybe)

-Sent Science from around Minmus... again.

-Retrieved a spare floating Relay Dish using a claw and a docking bay (a first for me), using a wobbly Spaceplane/Shuttle Tank combo (The Spaceplane works fine, and flies/lands well, but the symmetry for the booster array needs tweaking)

-Repositioned a probe around Minmus by reversing the orbit and angling it.

-Did one half of a Tourist contract, didn't do the other (... yet). Also, retrieved yet another Kebral in low orbit.

-Got a total of 1,500 Science from 2 Mobile Labs on Minmus and a Sat Lab polar orbiting Kerbin.

-Wondering why I keep putting off doing Mun studies and landings, why I haven't returned two Kerbonauts from Minmus (one low orbit, one crash site) back to Kerbin, and wondering why I've put off making an outpost on Duna (Also SOMEHOW got funds for making my first outpost on Kerbin)... also getting bored due to those indecisions (and I do like this game, still).

There is a name for tourists that were trained at the KSC for their missions: they are called the Crew.

I am sorry to disagree, but a tourist cannot help in getting your spaceship anywhere, and cannot do anything useful - that's the whole point of tourists. They are about as useful as bringing a bag of dirt on your trip, except they talk much more. So I disagree with them controlling the ship without SAS or taking crew reports. If anything, they should make things worse, as proper tourists typically do.

But I could be ok with tourists on EVA, as long as they don't do anything useful while on EVA.

Hey yeah, instead of "Science" EVA, they should have "Feedback" EVA. It shouldn't give science, but maybe a funding bonus SO SMALL that it's negligible (but there), like, say 1 "kerbuck/fund" per feedback. It may be there, but the value is so low that, in the direct mission, it means nothing.

One thought, is commnet active in your save? Hit ESC, click settings, then click "difficulty: Custom" or whatever the button says for you, and see if Commnet is checked.

It's unchecked by default if you carried your save over from a previous version.

*SNAP!* That's probably why it's not coming up! Thanks!

Yes, its way faster, I wonder if this is an mod issue?

I'm no programmer, but it's possible that it might very well be...

Also, do you have multiple windows up (IE, Microsoft Edge, Skype, etc) while playing? Sometimes having a lot of stuff up also affects the game's performance.

Sounds like a design issue to me. Try to minimize control surfaces and or reaction wheels.

Trust me when I say it wasn't a design issue. If the plane wasn't stable in the air "normally", it mostly likely wouldn't have gotten off of the ground, in the first place (without crashing). Wings and elevons were in the back, a pair of control surface-inladen wings to act like canards, and a few small tailfins in the back of the body to stabilize and add a bit more weight to the back.

Anyways, in 1.2 the craft is incredibly stable now: take-off, flight, and landing. So yeah, it was a bug issue.

  6. Yesterday: Got two orbiting Kerbals rescued with the same rocket (low Kerbin orbit and high orbit), did a mid-air crew report study with a now more-stable spaceplane with 4 Panther engines (WOO-HOOO for Wet Mode), sent Sceince from a Sat Lab orbiting Kerbin, did a basic orbiting touring contract for two female Kerbal tourists, and I'll eventually be exploring the Mun, and finally work on plans to make an orbiting Minmus Station, AND retrieve a stranded grounded Kerbal on Minmus.

Never was an issue for me :P .

Well, spaceplanes, for me, in 1.1.3, would only be stable for short while at a certain elevation... and afterward it would start teetering up and down, faster and harder, until they eventually spin out of control and become completely unrightable, at about 8,000-10,000 m up, for one reason or another. It was clearly a bug.

  8. Basically, WOO-HOOOOO!

Now that SAS is stable enough to keep a Spaceplane from spastically teetering like a drinking bird toy, I've come to see how awesome the Panther engines truly are, when it comes to "speedy atmospheric flight" when you set them to Wet Mode (made a Spaceplane that can fly, in Wet Mode, up to over 20,000 m, at speeds at over 800 m/s... also I was FINALLY able to complete a Crew Report in mid-air contract, because of the combined-ness). This may be a new dawning for Spaceplane flight on Kerbin.

    Thanks KSP 1.2

  9. Never got a Station Contract that required fuel... but I DID, pre 1.1.3, get a contract asking for me to take a Station and orbit around Eve... while being connected to a Type C Asteroid!

I only took it for the funding... I never did it since, at the time, I couldn't even do Rendezvous, let alone asteroid catching!

Even worse,  in year 6 of career there is a timeframe of 1 year plus without transfers but to Moho. Yet I am told to ship people to Duna, test stuff in Eve orbit, explore Bop but I don't get any serious contracts for Moho. Well,  launched a rover to Moho without contract...

I once had a close Sun orbit contract... REALLY close. Never did it.

In my most difficult and tedious mission yet, I sent Jeb on an 84 year mission to Eeloo and back, requiring 12 gravity assists overall, using a craft that weighs just 3.6 tons! So much effort went into this one, from building the rocket and all the cars, writing custom configs for my visual mods to make Eeloo look just right, to actually performing each of the many many stages in the video! I really hope you like and appreciate what I've done here!

    Enjoy! :)

*Give you a slow, and VERY sincere applause*

That was amazing! The gravity assists, you eyeballing the planar and coplanar orbital alignments, the efficiency of usage of the ion booster, xenon tank and electrical power, the maneuvering on Eeloo itself, AND the return to Kerbin...

Good sir... YOU.... have INSPIRED ME to learn more about gravity assist maneuvers!

I don't know why this is:

I made it the other night in my sleep, but I don't remember why.

Pagee, here, doesn't look too sure, either...

    DEYmcqD.png

But it's big & flies well enough, I figured I'd use it to go rescue Rondolin and her Wrong Flyer after she picked a fight with a tree & lost (Stock Visual Terrain. Even the trees are solid )

    976apQp.png

Surprisingly, after a few false starts (seems you can't rotate to take off with the cargo ramp down, go figure), it seemed to be working quite well...

Took me a minute to realize why poor Rondie was so terrified...

    u1a3vXi.png

Apparently the winch had actually ripped off at some point and was now wedged under the ladder... and I no longer had any control over it. So she went for a swim when I tried to land with the Flyer in tow.

    fVe99jD.png

Poor Rondie. Looks like she's scared stiff.

Also, @Dire_Squid: Now that I've finally had a chance to verify this, at the KSC screen, hit Escape then "load save." One of those saves should be from just before your busted solar panel.

Sadly, I looked, and the only two saves I saw.... may have been from the recent game, since I had no clue how to retrieve, prior to all of this...

Not gonna "delete" a game because I no longer have the Station contracts for BOTH Mun and Minmus... I'm still depressed, though.

Regardless, thank you for giving me new insight.

    Huh?

Bluntly: Real life is not cut and dry. Real life is not simple. Real Life is not 100% dependable. Real life is messy, chaotic, FULL of variables!

Sometimes, making a game plan is the best way to figure out how to get "the most bang for your buck". Plus, as a medical professional, it's my job to jot down notes, especially if I can't remember some things whlie I'm barraged left and right with patients.

It's (Career Mode) clearly not your thing, Veeltch, and I won't slight you for it... but understand that it IS my thing.

What??? I'm not sure what you mean... What is OMV?

Brian was Freddie's guitarist and fellow song writer for decades, and has composed a lot on the side as well.

    It was just a thought.

OMV means Original Music Video (That... or I made it up after seeing AMV [Anime Music VIdeo] too many times).

Also, I had no idea that he was the guitarist in Queen. I now officially apologize, and shut mah mouf (my mouth).

More that it would need to be music written for the game rather than music you can hear all over the place, it`s a bit amateur to get the music for your game from a stock music website, and one of the cheapest at that.

Good luck funding Squad, so they can use that money to SPECIFICALLY get custom music for KSP (and not, ya know, improving gameplay, or something that takes more precedence).

19 minutes ago, Just Jim said:

OK, I know this might sound a really nuts at first, but what this game needs is a real musical superstar, as well as an astrophysicist.
And there is one man... one of my heroes... that I'm seeing on NASA TV all the time that is both... and just might already know about KSP.

This may sound crazy, but has anyone thought about reaching out to Dr. Brian May?

Ya know, I was REALLY hoping that this would've been a video of such a scientist that COMPOSED the music... not a man that made a OMV using Freddy Mercury's music.
