  1. @SelectHalfling0 I have 230GB (although it says 250 on the sticker) Western Digital which is now in its 8th year of every day usage (approximately 10-14 hours per day) and still works almost as good as new. I got this Seagate about a year ago because I needed more space and for now I didn't have problems with it. I had one 500GB WD few years ago which was about a year old when I went on the vacation for a week and when I came back home it didn't work anymore. PC was turned off for the whole week and as always when I am away disconnected from network and power outlets. @Elthy Thanks for your answer. I was leaning more towards i5 but I just wasn't sure which one is better suited for myself. When I am gaming I mostly play simulators, like KSP, FSX, Farming Simulator, ETS2, ATs, rFactor and when I can afford to renew subscription iRacing. As for cooler, I did plan to OC the CPU a bit, but nothing extreme really. AIO cooler was more because of looks than anything else and that is why I left it as a possibility for later. That is, if I have some spare cash. MBO is actually pretty easy for me: I had 2 computers until now and both were running with Asus boards and I had no problems at all with them. I can't remember which one was in my 1st PC, and I am still using P5B in my current machine. If you have good Asus board that you can recommend to me that is cheaper then those I have listed I will gladly listen Thanks for the PSU nod, I should look for something cheaper then.
  2. Currently I am saving for a new PC so that my current one can finally get its deserved rest (or be given to my sister for her college work). I have pretty much decided on everything except CPU and motherboard so I wanted to ask you guys for your opinion so that I can decide a bit easier. So, those are my plans: CPU: Intel Core i5 6600K or Intel Core i7 6700K CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper T4 (and later I may upgrade to AIO liquid cooler) MBO: Asus Z170-E or Asus P8Z77-V LX or Asus Maximus VIII Formula RAM: Kingston HyperX Fury Black 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4-2133 SSD: Samsung 850 Evo-Series 250GB HDD: Seagate ST1000DM003 1TB (I already use this one together with a 250GB one) GPU: I'll probably go for recently presented AMD Radeon RX 480 when it is released later this year Case: Cooler Master MasterCase 5 Pro PSU: Corsair HX750i 750W 80+ Platinum
  3. I (almost) nailed the landing. Just ran out of fuel about 80-100 meters above the ground and landed too fast for legs to hold the engines clear of the ground
  4. does that mean that they are targeting lift off at around 2AM UTC+2 ?
  5. thanks for new update. Though there seems to be problem with newly uploaded files on SpaceDock. For lots of mods that are in "Recently updated" category when I try to download I get message like this If I try to download version 0.8.5 of your mod from changelog tab on Space Dock it works just fine EDIT: Seems that it has been sorted now
  6. I like the new look. Hope it works as well as it looks when I try it out later
  7. I voted Interstellar Quest as it was that series that brought me into KSP when I accidentally stumbled upon it (I think it was episode 3 or 4). Only one that I didn't enjoy as much as others was Reusable Space Program. I can't really say why as I don't know, but others just felt a bit more fun to watch.
  8. @Pak Could you please consider adding small amount of LFO to the lifting body/rear end of the shuttle so that it can be used to power fuel cells without a need to sacrifice a bit of cargo area for an extra tank?
  9. It works now, I have successfully deployed a satellite on a test mission using this Canadarm. It was also quite fittingly the first time that I managed to land back on the runway with shuttle that was launched into orbit.
  10. @Jeast Yes that was it. While ascending some when I was near 70km mark camera started shifting backwards, but it stayed level with the end of the engines. When I separated external tank it then went further behind. I will try new version and report if I still have the problem
  11. Cockpit, cargo bay, engines and wings - stock Nosecone, OMS and rear - Cormorant Aeronology External tank - Fuel Tanks Plus SRBs - KW Rocketry Payload was combination of stock with few parts from CxAerospace and HabTech Here is a craft file with canadarm mounted
  12. I have problem using this Canadarm. When I have it attached on my shuttle once fuel levels are low center of mass moves quite far behind the craft (and even more after I decouple external tank). I am not sure if that is the problem with this Canadarm version or with KAS, but once I removed Canadarm from the shuttle and flown it again with same payload center of mass stayed where it should be.
  13. @NecroBones If I want to use only SRBs and nose cones with separatron engines inside what can I delete to have them working correctly?
  14. For nose cap: One of those Toggle options in Action Groups menu is used to open/close the cap. If I remember correctly it is the one with capital T but best to check for yourself For legs: If I remember correctly from previous versions of the mod they are part of the heat shield which is separated from capsule. So, to have them show up in Action Groups menu you have to select heat shield and not the capsule
  15. For the first time in KSP I managed to get STS-like craft into Kerbin's orbit (105x103km) and it was with useful payload too (small station module) which I used to practice docking. Then I had successful re-entry but landing wasn't that good. I overshoot a bit and after I turned I crash landed just in front of the runway
  16. As I am still waiting for some mods to be updated I haven't started a new career in 1.1.2. Rather, I tried to create a shuttle in sandbox which will I later use in career mode when needed parts are unlocked. I finally managed to build a shuttle that I am able to fly without power and land on the runway using stock parts and Cormorant Aeronology. I used hack gravity cheat to get it up to speed and altitude before disabling the cheat and trying to glide it down. Success rate: 3/3
  17. Today I am waiting for some of my "must have" mods to be updated for 1.1.1 While waiting I tried to make a stock shuttle in sandbox and I didn't go far from launch pad. Even if I manage to fly it it flips out of control, wings fall off or SRB-s woble into the craft and everything explodes.
  18. post from about half an hour ago on SpaceX's Facebook page:
  19. Correct. Though I had some bugs with GUI too for which I couldn't find a cause so I have reinstalled KSP and am now installing mods one by one to see which was the cause. Maybe there was something wrong altogether and that is why I got those problems with side panels
  20. Since 1.1 I have a problem where UI buttons for some of the mods are shown twice, while only one of them works. It started with Kerbal Alarm Clock and since it still isn't officially released for 1.1 I thought it may be the problem with the mod so I deleted KAC. Since then I have MechJeb button shown twice at the bottom of the screen in VAB/SPH and Scan Sat button shown twice durign flight. In flight sometimes both buttons are shown next to another one, while sometimes there is Docking Port Alignment Indicator button in between Here you can find log from when I last played today And 4 pictures showing what I get:
  21. I'll check a bit more at my side, but I had them explode at decoupling on launch pad, in atmosphere and in orbit. Since I made a craft from scratch maybe I have accidentally clipped something through them and that is the reason. I'll check again and come with reply if I discover something. Just as a note: I had them explode on launch pad, in atmosphere, out of atmosphere with engine still firing and out of atmosphere with no thrust from the rocket below.
  22. I have just one little problem: side panels explode on decoupling, though up until now they didn't take any solar panels, antennae or RCS thrusters with them. Lowering decoupling force in editor before launch helps to avoid explosions so maybe you could consider lowering default force?
  23. Whoa, I was hoping for that one, but didn't want to bother you with requesting them in stock sizes. Thanks a lot. As for what I have done...I missed Moho orbit once again, this time there was enough electricity but I ran out of fuel. And with that I decided to delete the save I started with 1.1 pre, download all the mods that I like to have around and start from scratch in 1.1
