  1. I don't mean the excellent S.A.V.E backup mod, I mean for example : You are in the complex and press ESC and choose "Save Game..." A window opens asking you to put in a filename, but no window showing your current saves list, so that you can just click one to overwrite to(or adjust, like Mun1 to Mun2) Anything out there to do this simple task ? ty
  2. I can confirm that the dev version of MJ2 works with my 1.2(I also have outer planets mod,for version 1.1.3)
  3. ty DX11, DX12 or OpenGL ? (I have 780Ti SLI, WIN10 64bit,3rd gen i7)
  4. I am a returning rocketeer, to the most challenging and fun(as in never boring or grindy) game ever ! Last time I was kerballing was nearly a year ago, and I remember I used 32 bit, because 64 bit was flaky on my machine. I am about to re-install KSP, should I go 64 or 32 ? tyvm all
  5. Am I right that this brilliant mod still doesn't work for the latest IR ? (which is what I'm using)
  6. I'd like to use the wheels in the first video but I can't see them in my inventory. I have installed magic smoke IR , IR core pack & IR expansion pack(all via CKAN) Can anyone help ? thanks - - - Updated - - - Found it in http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/65365 (utility pack) , it isn't in CKAN.
  7. Attitude Adjust (debug magenta) in MechJeb, thanks , +1 rep
  8. Must be a setting I switched on ? from a mod ? The head of the arrow is in the ground. It is on both mini rovers and not on big rover or ship. thanks - - - Updated - - - here is another
  9. Thanks for your reply As I deem 4 , 5 & 6 a luxury, I will not suggest it as I am sure you have other more important issues to deal with.
  10. Sorry but I also found it useless, as of 1.04. It might have worked before but I get no savings now
  11. To all involved with CKAN, well done ! Brilliant program I don't know if these are already in(haven't found it in CKAN so far), or in the works : 1. Can we have a "First Installed" date & time column ? (and also maybe "Last Updated" column ?) This solves the "order which mods were installed" and "what mods were installed with the mod you chose" 2. "Mod Size" column ? helpful "at a glance" view of what to take off or leave in, for us poor memory limited 32 bit WIN users 3. An auto "Refresh" option(at program start) as a settings option ? 4. not so important ---> Adjustable columns 5. not so important ---> A "Notes" column for us to add notes in CKAN for each mod 6. "Launch KSP" to show which one it is launching (OpenGL or DX11) or allow the option to switch I am sure some of the above can't be done as this is a multi-platform software(I don't know) All in all well done
  12. cheers all JSD , yes only for KSP and nothing else. I will dual boot WIN 7 & Linux x64 on my gaming rig. This game is unplayable with lots of mod in 32 bit mode as I run out of memory within an hour of running KSP. So either KSP has a huge(or many small) memory leak(s) , or the add-ons are to blame(can't see how , as trash collection and memory re-allocation should have nothing to do with mods and only internal to KSP) I will read up on Linux but will wait for a month or 3 and see if something regarding KSP 64 bit(in WIN) turns up...
  13. +1 rep, cheers micha I like KDE and Mint after going to your link. There is also a GUI that is called Unity, is it anything to do with KSP and its link to Unity ? (you know, the WIN 64 bit hack)
  14. +1 rep Cheers soulsource, your post is the one I will come to if I install Linux p.s. you read manuals ?
  15. I hope your project gets made as it is exactly what I want A modder can be a texturer/modeler or a coder . I have written code(worked as coder for 20 years) but haven't the time at the moment to learn/write/maintain KSP code/protocol/user demands - - - Updated - - - cheers
  16. Are there any current add-ons that have a more powerful light system than our stock ones ? Is there a Light Sensor in any add-on ? For example, when the sun comes up , the sensor detects that it is now light and switches the lighting rig off ? Thanks - - - Updated - - - p.s. I am running 1.04
  17. Thanks again. In the absence of more personal experiences from yourselves I so far have Debian, Ubuntu & Mint. I have lots of catching up to do before I install anything
  18. Again thanks all WIN 7 Pro 64 bit , i7-3770K , 16 Gig RAM , 2 X 780Ti in SLI & Triple screen. oooh, very important question, will Linux support triple screen as I love it in KSP ? My mods : - - - Updated - - - And I haven't even installed NEAR ,FAR or KW , or SpaceY or outer planets or REAL stuff !!! (which I would love to try) - - - Updated - - - And I force KSP in to OpenGL or DX11(via 2 shortcuts) just to see which performs better, jury still out. - - - Updated - - - You make good sense here, like the others who replied OK , LINUX dual boot it is. Now, which one ? which GUI for it ? (or it comes with one these days ? ) so far we have MINT & DEBIAN ?
  19. Since I didn't spot a place to ask this, I will do it here. I used to play in Beta many moons ago, and I came back nearly 2 weeks ago, as this is by far the most engaging game I have ever played !!! I have WIN 7 with 16 Gig of RAM(and the rest of my spec is very good) but I soon run out of RAM in the 32 bit version and the game crashes This is without even installing many of the mods I want ! (After loading my current add-ons, KSP is on about 3 Gig of used RAM, and it keeps climbing as I progress in game) I am IT savvy(Software Engineer) so I learn fast. I have never used Linux(yes I know, the shame of it) but can learn quickly. What is the most stable route : 64 bit WIN KSP (using the well known hacks on KSP forums) ? A Linux install(and flavour please) for dual booting with WIN 7 ? Or a virtual install of sorts in WIN 7 ? (virtual software ? and Linux flavour?) thanks all p.s. Are all Add-ons available in Linux ? - - - Updated - - - p.p.s Clean and lone LINUX install is not an option , as I need WIN 7
  20. Guys, those are all brill, thanks Unfortunately I seem to have problems(like all others) with the memory limit on 32 bit WIN 7 build of this wonderful game I will rethink my approach and maybe start a new KSP with minimum stuff on it for my purposes. (going to Linux is not an option for me currently, but I will ask my friend about it) - - - Updated - - - I will look in the correct forum here and see if I want to go for dual booting
