  1. The NDA isn't just for young'uns, it's for all members of the Experimental and QA teams (And probably all official SQUAD staff too). It's to stop information being leaked unofficially, and is almost universally used for game testers, as well as people working on films, books, tv shows, etc...
  2. Just to add my thoughts in here briefly. I've not noticed a crash in 1.0 from QA all the way through to release that wasn't already noted (e.g. the annoying symmetry crash...) But I run on a very old PC so gfx settings tend to be low-medium, and resolution not over 1920x1080. From my experience, shaders/anti-aliasing are known to cause a few graphical glitches particularly on OS X, so if you are getting very frequent crashes to the point of it being unplayable, I'd recommend making sure anti-aliasing is off, and PPFX is off (it should be by default, because it's known not to work terribly well on OS X) Also, a fresh install seems to be helping some people, which would tally up with what I see, as I regularly cleared out and re-installed during testing, and I'm not seeing any of these issues
  3. QA team are the mutts nuts! They have a public tracker, which the Devs, QA team and Exp team are active on, as well as an active support forum, What more do you want?
  4. Exactly the sort of player needed for tutorial feedback! Seasoned pro's are useless for this...
  5. The majority of games are 32bit... even AAA ones. It's only very recently on the biggest of big budget games where they are 64bit. x64 has quickly become a buzz word which people use thinking that it's the holy grail of gaming... it isn't.
  6. No, Opinion. Here is a nice little example of a small plane built using new parts, and it looks lovely. Given the parts have only been out for a day I expect many people to find many imaginative ways of making interesting ships. Just like they did before the update. http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/95780-Reapers-Dutch-Designs-%28mini-arrowhead-vtol%29-my-first-0-25-craft
  7. I've just been trying to tell you this in the other thread.... Glad you took it on board I would suggest everyone calms down, has a play around with the part for a few weeks (update has only just gone live!) then give some constructive feedback. 1 day does not a good testing period make
  8. I'm not acting like an expert... I'm just pointing out that saying the new parts are rubbish and you want the old ones back is just opinion, and also not helpful. Suggesting how the new parts could be improved, would be useful and productive
  9. I don't know how many times I can say this, but the fact that you think the parts are 'inferior' is completely subjective. I'm sure everyone involved in the development of KSP doesn't think they are inferior, or they wouldn't have made it into the game. I, for one, think the new parts are much better, and they've actually given me the impetus to dabble in spaceplanes more, where I didn't really have much interest in them before. You are correct in that the parts menu needs a re-work though. Even with the current stock set of parts, its a pain to navigate. Search and/or filtering would greatly improve it.
  10. That is completely subjective. I'd rather have 1 version of each part and keep my parts list clean with all my ships having a similar theme. If I were a new player I would be put off by having to work out the marginal differences between the 12 different versions of the delta wing in my parts list. KSP will be constantly evolving until it hits 1.0 (and probably even after that) so all feedback will be taken on board, however, in my humble opinion I don't think keeping every version of every part is a good idea. Suggesting modifications to a new part, on the other hand, would be great feedback for Squad to have! Not to mention, saying that the old parts are 'better' is also completely a matter of opinion. I'm pretty sure if the roles were reversed, and you'd all been using the new parts for x number of years/months, then suddenly they were replaced with the old parts, you'd be complaining about exactly the same thing?
  11. I'd actually consider it to be a long-sighted decision. There's still a way to go until 1.0 and I'm sure many parts will change between now and then. Leaving in every part iteration since the dawn of time will lead to a bloated selection of parts and much confusion for new players. Feedback on the new parts I'm sure would be taken on board and into consideration, but simply keeping old parts because some people don't like change will hinder progression in my opinion
