  1. I'd love to see people's creations in ksp that came to life, show them here!
  2. Thanks man, I knew it was a windows process but I didn't know they used it and after the blue screen and having never been asked that before, just wanted to make sure it was normal is all.
  3. Alright, so whenever I try to open certain programs (event viewer and resource monitor where the one's I've tried that have had this problem so far) my pc asks me if I want "to allow the following program to make changes to my computer" Program name: Perfmon.exe Just seems a little weird that it's happening and wondered if anyone would know if I should allow it or not. Side notes: My pc bluescreened a few days ago (I take good care of my pc doing disk defrags, registry defrags and disk cleans once a month at least) but I was able to open the Even Viewer after that without it asking me if I needed to and now all of sudden it's asking me. Maybe it's because I did a windows update, but maybe I should do a restore before I do anything else though? Tips and advice all welcome! Laptop specs: Processor: Intel i3 2.26 GHz Graphics card: Nvidia 310m (originally 210, renamed it later) 4 gigs of DDR3 OS: Windows 7 age: ~5 years
  4. I agree, I do like the art style quite a lot and it's not completely sci-fi Atmospheres and water, for example, in the game are all different colors but they give you why they are that color by telling you their chemical mixture which I personally really find appealing. And they say that there is a lore to the center of the galaxy and a malevolent force so there is things and objectives to do but you don't have to do them. It's really quite interesting. From what I've seen in the trailers, I think the animals could use some movement animation tweaks and rendering should be done a bit more quickly but not as detailed if you're close to a planets surface and you're flying. That's really all I can criticize on it but then again they didn't show us much so there's not a lot to criticize on.
  5. I don't want this to be turned into a console vs pc war or company war, I just want to hear your thoughts on the game. I can't wait for it because it looks absolutely beautiful. Kind of like minecraft and skyrim in an interstellar setting in which you can appoint yourself goals or try to head to the center of the galaxy which from what I heard is going to be tough and if you die, you start all over. Maybe that will make or break the game. From what I know, it is coming to PS4, may or will come to PC but I don't know of any plans for Xbox. Either way I don't care. I don't have a gaming pc but I know I'll get a steady frame rate on the PS4 when I get one and the developers seem really excited about the project so I know they won't mess up, at least their idea of it. It won't turn into an EA " rushed " project with a bajilion microtransactions. Eitherway, if you like the style and layout of freeroam sci fi games that isn't just a " shoot em up" violence game, then I, personally, will think you'll enjoy it. Pretty sure I will if it follows my expectations
  6. I just multiply the mps by 2.2 in my head to give me an approximation. I know it's not how it's done exactly but it's a good ballpark multiplier.
  7. Just..go..and take a minute...or shall I say a ride and watch a video on "No Man's Sky" Any video because after watching any video you'll start to have an understanding on what this game is and if you're interesting in a sci fi space game...well...what else is there to say but....your dream game, everything you ever wanted in terms of size, diversity, options, life, coding, basically ANYTHING you EVER wanted will be in this game. So please...tell me what you think about this masterpiece which....is...mostly speechless to talk about...
  8. I'm probably going to stick to FAR now that I know it's the most realistic. I can't seem to get that window on how the plane acts at different speeds when in the VAB/SPH I know this was a feature before but I'm not seeing it. Anyone mind helping me out?
  9. I currently use FAR but I'm thinking of switching to NEAR because of the aerodynamic failures. So tell me what you use and why you prefer it over the other! please move if not in the right category.
  10. Usually, for me at least, when I'm around .05 units of intake air I be near the point of stalling so I switch to rockets. Hope this helped.
  11. Listen to the latest Kerbalcast, MaxMaps if I remember correctly will talk about the main implementations in .25. Here's da link: http://kerbalpodcast.libsyn.com/ You can also go to the latest DevNote and find the link in MaxMap's section and listen to it there. I won't ruin anything for you so if you want to find out just listen to the beginning minutes "first 10-ish if you want the most info and then there's a bit more at random moments throughout" but if not then no need to listen.
  12. If I had to guess those will be added in a future update maybe. While I do agree the planets could use some "spicing up" as of right now however it seems they're mostly working on the career version which in it of itself isn't all that bad. I'm finding it to be quite fun.
  13. Just got view of the Administrative Facility. If I were to guess it just keeps track of various things you've done in KSP such as launches, contracts, science ETC. I mean, the player is basically the administrator and, if I'm thinking about this correctly, you'd need sliders to put all that info into view (I'm an idiot when it comes to this stuff so I could be wrong on the sliders thing)
  14. As the created of this thread, please do go to Ikaneko's post here. He was first to post on this subject (that I know of) and therefore has the right to get any discussion attention on his thread, not this one.
  15. overfloater commented on my thread. Please sir, I am not worthy but just say the word and I will take a single orange tank to jool and back
  16. Squad is just being so secretive about .25 which could mean they have something big in store Let me know what you think they're doing (other than SPP implementation) Personally, with the recent review of Gas Planet 2, I think they're reworking/reskinning the planets as they had different ideas for a few that haven't been implemented yet such as Laythe (i believe, could be wrong) is going to be full of volcanoes and basically it would be a much more hostile moon than it is now. So stuff like that so that when they add the new GP2 everything will be updated, cool, and just all around amazing, even for KSP. Your ideas?
  17. Here's my CPU name: "Intel® Core i3 CPU M 350 GPU: Graphics clock: 625 MHz, Processor clock: 1530 MHz, Memory data rate: 1580 MHz. I get decent frames while playing KSP except when in the atmosphere or with a ship with a 100+ part count but what I have a problem with is that when I open KSP I'm using near my max ammount of RAM (around 3.5gb of 4) I have blue screened and had the game crash several times and I'm guessing it's because of overstressing the computer so would adding more RAM fix the crashing/blue screening at least? I'm fine not building 100+ part ships just whenever I play KSP, CPU stress is always on my mind.
  18. Alright, I think I just need in general a better pc all around. I still want a laptop, I love the portability and I don't need a custom gaming rig. I'm thinking maybe 6-8 gigs of ram, a i5 that's all around faster than the current i3 I have now and maybe an Nvidia500 series or something around that power. I don't have a bunch of money to blow so I'd like it to be cost effective. You guys let me know if you think this is good enough to run KSP with a few mods, build maybe ~100 part ships and get a decent framerate. Again, specs are i3 @ 2.26, nvidia310m, 4gb of ram and a pretty slow hd. (around the 5200 rpm area something like that) and it's 4 years old but well taken care of to the point where it starts up just as fast as it used to when I first got it.
  19. As of right now I'm just using the first laptop I got with the current specs:2.26 Ghz i3, Nvidia 310m w/ Cuda, 4gm of ram. It's 4 years old but I take good care of it, only takes about a minute and a half to start up. And this is what I plan on getting sometime if I ever need to: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/lenovo-14-touch-screen-laptop-intel-core-i5-8gb-memory-500gb-hard-drive-gray/5829015.p?id=1219163974349&skuId=5829015&st=categoryid$abcat0502000&cp=1&lp=4
  20. Well, I think you can already tell what I'm going to ask but to get better FPS on KSP, Do I get a faster GPU or a faster CPU? Thaaaanks
  21. It's about time they did something with spaceplanes. I've been wanting something like this ever since I started (i'm a new guy, started in .20 or .21 something like that) Now I can finally build decent planes that can hold cargo without actually needing to download a mod, they needed something like this for a while.
  22. I've watched some vids on the KSP god Scott Manley and he says that you shouldn't design an SSTO based on an atmospheric plane because they're meant to work in the atmosphere, not in the atmosphere and then into space. Soo, any tips other than building planes and then spaceplanes cause, honestly, that's what I've been trying to go from for a while now
