  1. observe, my rarest pepe
  2. never heard of it. i'm going to check it out i just finished watching all 9 series of the x-files.. i was too young to understand when they were first aired, and in my country they were broadcasted at a late hour so i only saw some bits and pieces back then. now that i viewed all episodes i think it was pretty damn good. and scully is (was) f'ing hot. rawr. anyone exited about the revival? i wonder how they are going to explain the entire colonization thing that was supposed to happen in 2012..
  3. oh god.. started a new carreer recently, yesterday i took a break and simply crashed many experimental airplanes to the tunes of Kenny Loggins danger zone. laughed so hard my sides hurt
  4. something about heat is just off.. in my new carreer save i did a testflight with a simple jet, it didn't reach speeds over 200m/s and the engine was all the way in the back, yet the fuel tank started glowing red during landing and stayed that way after touching down and turning everything off.. also sent a hopper to the north pole for science only to find out it's 330° over there and steadily climbing! also with all systems shut down
  5. welp.. my well ran dry last week so no more showers. the pungent odor of my d now saturates the hot humid air grossing people, cows and all creatures alike out for miles downwind. i'd never thought i'd say this but i really hope it would rain. soon.
  6. a classic, the rescue mission of the rescue mission of the rescue mission of the first moonlander
  7. honey could you pass me another roll of toilet paper? i feel a big one comin'
  8. on what planet/moon would you like to build? in low gravity i usually use a skycrane to deorbit and dock modules vertically. a bit tricky but it works. on minmus i just dropped the entire 108 ton supply base in one piece because the gravity is so low anyways. in the pic you can see a skycrane design. just make sure it's wide enough so it doesn't thrust into the load (like the one refueling, that's why there is a bigger one parked behind it) you might want to strut the heavier loads to the crane with KAS
  9. this used to happen to me a lot but now it happens way less often. if rotating the ship doesn't work you can try placing a ladder or 2 under the pod's hatch. if you have parts like solar panels close to the hatch you can try moving them somewhere else. i hope this solves your problem
  10. i might have overlooked them in the pic but do you have batteries on ther ship? you'll lose control if you run out of electricity be advised that the solar panels are blocking some of your crew hatches. whoever you put in there at launch is not getting out again
  11. launched yet another flight to minmus, this time carrying a lander pod with 2 additional kerbals to man the minmus base and an ion powered satellite with Oring Kerman on board to transmit data for eternity as punishment for blowing up my launchpad. before picking up the lander pod in minmus orbit i refueled the smallest skycrane by vertically docking it to a supply platform on the surface. it's amazing btw how much you can do over there with just a bit of fuel
  12. submitting an entry for heaviest wheeled vehicle and heaviest object landed at minmus. the mobile science platform weighs 19.5t and the supply platform it docks to weighs in at 108t. + 33.4t with the skycrane attached. carreer mode with only 1 mod, KAS
  13. it's possible but you have to place a probe core onto the stage you want to recover, and you need to drop it while it's in a sub-orbital but almost complete orbit so you can compete the orbit with your ship before the lifting stage dissapears. then switch to the lifting stage, land it, and switch back to the ship in orbit. depending on the weight of the payload i just add boosters untill the lifter has enough power to get that wide sub-orbital orbit. as you can see the probe core is off-center in the picture but it works fine with parachute-only landings mainsail engine exploded tho but more parachutes or some landing legs should fix that
  14. voted for dres canyon. nice stunts, i saw them being posted here a few times but it never get's old watching them
  15. ^ nice landers! launching a supply platform to minmus turns out to be pretty hard with only half of the tech tree unlocked, but after a failed attempt and some redesigning it got there anyways. a few transfer stages ended up in minmus orbit with a bit of fuel left so i landed them as well rover docks to the platform nicely
  16. got a wider skycrane up to minmus and sucessfully landed my oversized rover. also got a design ready for a supply platform with fuel, KAS parts and a science module. it might be a pain to get it up there but it will surely be easier than assembling it on site from individual modules
  17. nice t3rran, trail and error. i just made some error of my own.. i designed a skycrane for work on minmus first. afterwards i made a rover that was supposed to be compact and light but with room for science equipment for at least 2 biomes at a time. offcourse i over engineered it again and it turned out a tad bit bigger than expected also got the recovery of the lifting stage working so i left the rover in orbit to be landed by the skycrane later. after another uneventful launch i docked the skycrane to the rover and trutted it with KAS, unfortunatly the skycrane was no longer up to scale with the rover because i'm stupid like that. the engines are thrusting into the damn rover making the docking port all wobbely and it's blowing the entire thing BACKWARDS by redirecting the force towards the top. i'm amazed. so now i have to make a bigger lander
  18. you can drag the green bar when you right click the tank to adjust the amount of fuel it holds at launch ninja'd
  19. granted. it gets lonely and attempts hump your leg. i wish for a pizza made of cookie dough with ketchup, bacon and onion toppings to be delivered at my workplace by a drone
  20. i find eyeballing a lot easier when you align every axis separately. get close, kill forward velocity, rotate the view sideways and align the vertical rotation of your ship, change to top view and align horizontal rotation. then align the docking ports and kill relative velocity in both views, go forwards till the the docking ports are just out of reach for the magnetic field and check both views again, adjust if necessary and give it a nudge
  21. there is a thread but the OP hasn't updated it in a long long time.. maybe you can pick up where he left? there are some good entries in that one http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/12358-Kerbal-book-of-World-Records
  22. one of the rovers i'm putting together for a minmus (low gravity) mission has a small fuel supply and a thruster directly behind the CoM. i plan to drive it up a hill and blow it into orbit where a tug can dock to it. the rover i already sent up there is actually a simple rocket with wheels that can be used as a tug. it de orbited itself, landed and preformed 3 sub orbital hops, afterwards it just lands vertically on it's landing legs again and a small rcs thruster flips it back onto it's wheels. there is a pic i posted earlier in the 'what did you do today' thread. but this severely limits the design of your rover and works only in low gravity off course
  23. when you attempt to send a satellite to the mun and the last boosters of the lifting stage burn out when you're in an elliptic orbit with the furthest point halfway between the mun and minmus
  24. launched the first flight of a rover and science base to minmus surface. the recon rover (that doubles as a small space tug) landed nicely and found a suitable location for the base after driving/sliding around a bit. i was hoping to recover all the rocket parts besides the boosters because of the amount of flights it's going to take but despite placing a probe core on the lifting stage it dissapeared. or maybe it just crashed before i bothered to look at it i'm not sure
