1. Cancel that. I just re-downloaded from another site and installed it. Its running now. My guess is the GitHub download is bad. The one from SpaceDock works tho.
2. Just the standard game log file? Sure. Tho i wish this forum system allowed for attachments KSP log
3. It apparently is needed actually. (doing this since it wont let me insert an image).
4. I'm having trouble with this. I poking my head back in this game and got a few mods i wanted to play with working... except this one. Nothing shows up. No icons or anything, as if it didnt load. I checked and all the fires are in the game data folder, so not sure what is up. I also made sure i have toolbar installed. Any ideas? Think i figured it out. It seems Toolbar 1.7.13 is not with KSP 1.2.2 so ill have to wait for that to get updated.
5. Nope, you cannot 'warp to next maneuver' while on in the tracking station. Currently, you have to be actively 'flying' the vessel you want to do that with, which means your warp speed might be limited.
6. Not sure if this has been suggested yet (did a quick search didn't see it), but i would be handy to have the ability to warp to the next maneuver node (of the selected ship) from within the tracking station, thus taking advantage of faster time warp (ie not limited by terrain height). I'm sure there are mods that can do this already, but seems like it should be in stock.
7. I was just thinking this the other day. There is no reason that the ground around KSP shouldn't be more uneven, and the level 1 runway flattened. Keep it dirt, and have less friction than grass. This also brings up another issue with runways. Weight. Im of the opinion that runways should have more weight restriction (lvls 1 & 2) than the launch pad. It seems logical that the launch pad can handle more weight than the runway. Why is this important? Well im not sure if anyone else does it, but i did see Scott Manley focus on upgrading the runway/sph. This allowed him to build rockets and planes while only needing to upgrade one facility. Which kinda feels like an exploit against the spirit of the game (tho i dont knock him for going that route).
8. Ahhh.. THAT's why there is still an option for it in the posting but it doesnt work. Gotcha. I just didnt want to create a file sharing account on a site, just to post a bug report or two. Ill start using the tracker. Thankx
9. As the topic states, how can i add files to these posts for bug/crash reporting purposes? (if its even possible).
10. This has likely been asked before but, is it possible to use this with the maneuver planner, or does it still only work with the current trajectory?
11.
Other programs still sit in memory though and some can actually cause instability in KSP, such as any program that hooks into memory to monitor the activity of other programs, the most recent example is PrecisionX, a graphics card monitoring and tweak application. Blaze has memory hooks loaded, I know this because a hook module was in your taskmanagers process list, and this list is written to your log when KSP crashes like this, which is why I specifically mentioned Blaze, here it is. I have not come across Blaze before so I don't know yet if it is a problem or not, but it is a suspect, so if you continue to have this issue I suggest you shut down Blaze fully, and possibly other programs as well which you don't need running.
Eh well, i dont end up using that program anyway so i just shut it down and told it to no longer load when windows starts. If i dont crash again that may have been the issue. Or it may have just been flat out random, who knows. Thanks for the advice. I did play again last night, did a few contracts without issues (well, game stability issues anyway :P ) and it ran without incident (with blaze shut down).
12. I have not attempted to repeat the crash so i dont know yet. No overclocking happening. My normal background process are using ~ 10% of my cpu so i doubt it is interfering with it. Blaze wasn't an active program, just something running in the task-bar for detection. Everything else is related to the hardware in my machine (motherboard/video card support software).
13. KSP version: Current 1.0.5 though Steam on Windows 7 64-bit A detailed explanation of what happened and what you were trying to accomplish: From a flight, i attempted to revert to space plane hanger A screenshot of your craft or any relevant screens : Crashed to desktop, no screen shots available. A .craft file or save files if relevant: I was flying the Stock "Satellite launcher" space plane. A detailed list of system specifications: Intel i5 cpu (2500k), 16 gig of ram, Radeon HD 6950 GPU Are you running a clean installation, or have you updated and some of your persistence or craft files might be older versions, if so which version(s): Bone stock clean version from Steam (1.0.5) The ouput_log.txt or player.log file KSP creates when it launches and, if applicable, the crash log KSP has generated when the program crashed : Far to big to paste in here. So i uploaded it separately.
14. What you can do (what i do) is when i start a game, i make a copy of KSP from steam into another location, then play from that. This allows me to mod it out independently from the steam 'core' copy, so i can troubleshoot if needed, as well as keep it from being updated, and possibly breaking mods (or my save game). Only thing you really lose is steam tracking how many hours you play, but do you really want everyone to know that anyway? lol.
15. Dumb question im sure, but i wanted to make sure the FAQ was up to date. With 1.0.4 its supposedly fixed the aerodynamic issues. I know pre 1.0 FAR added aerodynamic effects onto the craft and affected it. But with 1.0+, its suppose to add that into stock. Does FAR still improve over that in the way the FAQ states?
16. yea, i was just including the screenshot as a whole, i knew it was from the module manager. Regardless, the mod itself does work in game. I was just making the suggestion for more information.
17. I understand. But realize, i never said it didnt work. Just that it tosses up an error on loading in .25, where as it didnt in 24.2 (64-bit). I dont even mind if that is in there as just a warning, it would just be helpful if (as i said, if you were able to) the error message listed which mod was giving the warning. http://cloud-4.steampowered.com/ugc/539631097973719983/16107BFA8E6EF574A80BBCC121CA9C96D176BC42/ As you can see, its not very helpful in telling which mod it 'detected'. It does seem like a general game warning, but it only brings that window up after I install B9.
18. I've been working on updating to the latest KSP from 24.2 to .25. However i have narrowed down an error screen that pops up when i start that says a Mod is incomparable with 64-bit. This mod turned out to be B9. Wasnt sure if you were aware of this or not. Also not sure if you are able to affect that error window by putting your mod in it, as i had to manually go though each mod to figure out which one was causing the error to appear.
19. im still on the 24.2 version, and DRE i don't think is in play. I don't have DRE or FAR install and the same trajectory effect happens to me. I plot the landing, then separate the "service module" which then makes my landing spot fall short of where i aimed. Naturally i just assumed its taking into account its current mass, instead of the final stage mass *shrug*
20. Do you have any plans to add in calculations to Moons? Further, Astroids or other space craft floating about? I downloaded this in hopes of finding a good transfer from Mun to Minums, but was bummed when i saw it only did planets.
21. KSP: 0.24.2 Windows 64bit Problem: Probes launched from ship, disappear upon reloading said probe (save game, jumping back to tracking station) Mods installed: * B9 Aerospace * Better Atmospheres Chatterer * Distant Objects * Dmagic Orbital Science Docking port alignment Editor Extensions Engineer Redux Enhanced Nav Ball * EVE (visual enhancements) Exp Pack (which ive forgotten the name of the mod this is) * Fine Print * Hot Rockets Infernal Robotics * Karbonite K Attachment System * Kerbal Aircraft Expansion * Joint Reinforcement Alarm Clock Kethane * Interstellar * KW Rockets * Modular Kolonization System Proc Fairings * Real Chute * Remote Tech 2 Spaceplane Plus * Tac Life Support Texture Replacer Tweak Scale Log: the logs. 2nd, As far as reproducing, It seems to happen whenever i create and attach probes to a vessel that is alternatively controlled (ie, i start with a command pod, then attach the probe to it to be launched). I have tried this with a clean (mod-less) run and it doesn't appear to happen, but it was a very basic test. (what i did find out was there is a bug with ion engines constantly using power even if you are low/out of power so you loose control of the probe) I'm not sure how to narrow down which mod it might be. Here is a list of what mods i do have. This is the 2nd time i have had this issue, and the mods with the * by them are new mods since i had this problem the first time. I checked and all mods appear to be up to date and state they are compatible with my current version. I did do a test with another engine, while it did have a ion attached, it wasn't the part that was left over. Also notice the nav ball is pissed off, with all the maneuver node adjustments on top of each other, not sure if that has anything to do with the issue. I also don't seem to be the only one experiencing this issue. Resolution: It turns out, I had SmokeScreen installed, which is a mod i didnt see was out of date. This turned out to be the cause of the problem. The latest version seems to address this specific issue, as indicated in their notes. 2.4.5 fix the disappearing ship bug that some user had. So if anyone else is having this issue as well, head over and update your smokescreen mod/files. Thanks, sorry if this wasted everyones time.
22. Cool! I've been wanting a tool to help me with aerobraking maneuvers. But... Would it be possible to add in Ascent profiles as well? It would be handy if we could plan out our trajectory right from the launch pad.
