  1. Annnnnnd I've found my next book. Thanks
  2. Thanks a lot for fixing the issue this quickly, I really appreciate it.
  3. I get this too! I used a completely fresh install of KSP with no other mods, and have been unable to resolve this issue. One thing I noticed is that the first time you get into the space center, the button in the top right corner that shows a list of all the launch sites including your active one indicates that you have no active launch site (i.e. none of the launch sites are coloured green)
  4. That's an interesting idea kerbiloid and it would neatly solve the dilemma, however the problem is that the game itself has specified the mass and radius of the planets, and so the density problem is unavoidable. Having said that I think I'm going to have to read that book you linked, sound good.
  5. NoNo. The magnetism of a blob of Nickel/Iron is completely separate from the the earths magnetic field. Magnets by definition have their own magnetic field, they don't need an external one to work. Back on topic though, nobody has mentioned a crucial drawback that is common to all glues - before they have time to set, they will evaporate! All glues are either based on polymerisation or the evaporation of a solvent such as water. Either way, an active component of the glue is quite volatile and as such will evaporate very quickly under the near-perfect vacuum of space. The most likely outcome of this is that the nozzle will be gummed up as soon as it is opened, and at best your glue will be very ineffective, having mostly evaporated before it had time to properly set.
  6. I can guarantee that Jools atmosphere does not have hydrogen and chlorine, since they explode when mixed. This reaction is initiated by heat or by UV light. Also, the planets in the kerbal solar system have impossibly high densities. Kerbin has a density 58 times that of water. The densest element, osmium, has a density 23 times that of water and so the conclusion we must draw is that there is an exiting super-dense fuel inside kerbins mantle just waiting to be harvested.
  7. It does work if I switch to it from the tracking center, but not if I go directly to it from the space center (since it's sitting on the runway). Thanks for the help, I hope that since you were able to identify a workaround for this you have some idea what caused it.
  8. Sorry, I may not have been clear before. As you can see by my screenshot I have a receiver pointed directly at a transmitter. Both have been activated, and those girders you see have been separated, so the receiver and transmitter are two separate vessels. The receiver however still does not open itself though, so I don't know what's going on.
  9. Can anybody tell me how to open the dish of a microwave power receiver? I have tried right clicking activate, but that doesn't cause it to open for some reason even when the option is set as an action group. I feel like I'm missing something super obvious here so if somebody could tell me what's going on I would very much appreciate it.
  10. The title says it all, really. Once I research the parts they become unlocked and I can place them around, but there are still duplicates. Does anybody know what could be causing this issue? I updated the game through the patcher, but I am re-downloading the whole game now (at a hideously slow speed) to see if that solves the problem.
  11. I have noticed that when using the 3.75m tokamak reactor, I get seriously weird issues with tritium breeding. If my time warp is <100x then I actually use up tritium faster than I produce it, but if it is >100x then I produce it faster than I use it, which doesn't make any sense to me. One thing I noticed was that in the control window the production rate of tritium remained constant at 5.173L/day, and the consumption also remained constant at 4.81L/day.
