  1. Interesting mod you have here. I'm gonna have this check this out.
  2. You might note on the last two pictures i have Harrier-style vectoring engines that *will* retract. Might not be completely obvious, still fiddling with shapes to see what i want things to look. *Edit* It's definitely a twist on the IXS Warpship, but it's meant to adress a few flaws i felt the design had, namely inadequate thrust, no real useful cargo payload, no real crew accommodations, and no radiators whatsoever. Magic heat dispersal tech apparently. XD
  3. Wouldn't it feeding directly off power require some kind of reaction mass? You can pump all the air as reaction mass in a atmosphere you want, but in space you need something, and i thought KSPI already had arcjet RCS. Unless your talking something much simpler like just purging hot coolant.
  4. Hey now, i can't make ALL of KSPI myself. Although a glorified valve probably wouldn't take that long. Although i can't imagine it would be useful outside of a atmosphere.
  5. Eh, I'm not sure what i want to do with the whole reaction-less thing here. I think I'd rather stay away from it but, i was contemplating giving the main ship a reactionless module to save fuel and de/accelerate within a magnetic field. But if i did that, i should really redesign a whole bunch of things since all these thrusters would be largely dead weight.
  6. Linear throttle would make things much easier. Honestly, turbines are kinda a pain since they can't change speed anywhere near fast enough. Flying the Harrier in X-Plane is a good example of this. Another reason i was thinking about secondary thrust is improved directional control. I've had the thought before, tiny rockets in the Harriers nozzles would have probably made flying it significantly easier.
  7. Thanks everyone. I've got a few projects i NEED to finish first. I'm aiming to have this done by Christmas. No promises though, I keep on thinking of things i want to change. @FreeThinker or (anyone), what might you suggest for directional lift thrust on non-atmospheric worlds? I was thinking maybe some 'afterburner' system in the thrust nozzles, Or perhaps some high-efficency attached rockets.
  8. Fiddled with the intakes, and now gear, and gear-door placeholders.
  9. Meh, I'm running closer to 30 Gigawatts. Maybe Jiggawatts will be a upgrade.
  10. Did a bit of fiddling with the SSTO today. Was gonna ditch the vectoring nozzles for more RCS style huge directional ports, but then decided It wouldn't be too hard to make them retractable, and stuck a vent in back so they could still run in 'aerodynamic' mode. I'd love some criticism on my physics here.
  11. If you flatten a MK3 adapter, it wouldn't be MK3 compatable anymore...
  12. @FreeThinker Something wonky is definitely going on with the batteries. I think it's because they don't have a MJ definition. EC will convert back and forth just fine, but you can't run engines directly off of them. I even tried finding the .cfg for them and I can't find the thing.
  13. Hmmm, i couldn't get it to output any power. I'll mess with it later.
  14. Anyone familliar with how the new batteries work now? I can't get them to do much of anything, are they just reactor capacitors like the supercapacitor was?
  15. Any possibility of a stretched version? Mk3 bays fit 2.5 size just fine, kinda seems like a waste.
  16. Oooo! You've saved me effort! How well do 2.5m rovers fit in the 3.25 to 2.5 hatch? Looks like a real tight fit.
  17. Sorry your not doing well, hope you get well soon. I talked to @Stevie_D a while ago and I might pickup this mesh as a offshoot of one of my current projects with a few new parts to essentially run on top of KSPI, So you may not need to even worry about it. In any event, focus on getting better.
  18. Thanks! I'm about at texturing stage. I've added some details to the main drive, I have to add them to the doors, and should probably do some hinge assembly thing for the front hangar doors. I bounce around between projects a lot but wanna get some stuff wrapped up including this in the next couple months.
  19. Did some work on the business end. Doors will get magnetic coils too, I'll add a bunch of coolant lines for reactor mode, and it'll get a hydrogen inlet.
  20. Thanks for being the first person to not just say more money = better job. I think it's a few things in the interview he said that caught me a bit off guard, he himself called it a hard job with long days. Most interviewers tend to cast the job in a positive light. I have a bit of experience at this from my days of VZW phone service but boy oh boy am I out of practice. I've had a bit less than stellar job history in the last year or so, but the last major job I left I was at for 5 years and left on good terms. It would actually be more although a couple aren't on there for obvious reasons. I'm gonna have to on the spot decide if the pay rate is worth the hassle. Boy do I hate on the spot decisions.
  21. Apparently, I had enough to get the interview. I've been out of the IT loop for a while, that's kind of another reason I'm apprehensive.
  22. Opinions requested on potential new job. Please excuse any typos here. I'm on my phone. So in the unlikely event anyone was wondering what happened with the last job post i did everything has gone well so far. Thier lead local tech is here like once a week and he hasn't said a single word to me in the 10 months or so i've been here. Kinda prefer that actually. Anyway, i've been at my current job about 8 months now and got a message from a friend of mine around a month ago that i should apply where he works. While the pay at this place is adequate there isn't really any potential to go anywhere. I did a interview at the new place and didn't get THAT particular job but did get a interview last week with a different department in thier building. The job is basically VOIP tech support for Microsoft Ofice 365 products, which based on my interviewers own statement is a fairly hard job. Objectively, this new position would be better in all regards and even sort of has some potential for advancement within the company. I've done some tech support work in the past but, my gut feeling is even with better pay i might not last long there. I just can't decide if it would be stupider to pass on a objectively better job. Better benefits and office too. Sorry, i know this quick post is probably lacking in details but, i wanted to get posted and not floating around my head. I'd like some opinions.
  23. That's kinda what I was thinking. I don't really have any dedicated spots for 'science' parts so I cut out one for something oversized.
  24. Still playing with the front. Haven't quite decided how I want to do the bridge, originally I stuck it on the very top but, it looked stuck on, and I wasn't real fond of it. I like this a little better but would still really like some opinions. How do I change it? what do I put on the bottom of the front module?
