  1. something is up then. I even tried reinstalling rp-0. I start a career with default settings and enable CTT in the prompt and just like before and it still only shows crewed orbit return as my first only contract, I think it has something to do with non windows installs as someone else has contacted me with the same issue.
  2. Some nice contracts and nodes with an early scansat integration to map biomes would be kinda cool.
  3. All of the "sounding rocket" contracs that were there in testing are gone now. Without being able to earn science from the ground you are pretty much forced to choose the node with the capsule in it after the initial basic rocketry if you want to have any money. If you can make it that far.
  4. I am using .25. manage to save a copy of the .25 linux zip so i can use he install script to expand it. I have a seperate .90 install with no mods That I use to try it out. I am thinking ckan did but Im not sure. I dont know where the file is or I would just manualy add the old one edit : found it, it is in tweakscale. might need to let pjf or biotronic know that ckan installs .90 version of KSPAPIexensions for tweakscale, though i dont know how much longer it is reall going to matter. I think there is a new thread for rp-o. I got a link off reddit to "http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/103196-0-25-Realistic-Progression-Zero-%28RP-0%29-Lightweight-RealismOverhaul-career-mode" should you update the OP?
  5. I am getting incompatible kspAPIextensions from ckan install
  6. I was saying it was a problem because i couldn't distribute a live distort with a commercial product installed.
  7. theres a pic of the shovel. I forgot to take a SS of the next screen with all the kerbals but they are all looking away from the screen like they are sad. Liike I said before It looks to me like they just buried someone. Anyway I found out its from the toolbar mod that is recomended on ckan. I really dont see why its that useful so I usually dont include it but i must have forgot thia time.
  8. I watch the trailer thing and I thought he said it. Maybe not, I tried it and the new editor catologing is petty nifty, say goodbye to PartCatalogue. My mk3 cargo bays did not have a skin though, just blank white.
  9. I was speaking of the new stock aerodynamics.
  10. there is a linux utility called remastersys that turns your current linux installation with all of your setting into a bootable live disk. I am kinda thinking a ubuntu x64 would be good. at a certain time when all of the mods and settings are updated I could do a fresh install, add ckan, ksp, and all of the mods. The only problem is KSP isn't free.
  11. the aerodynamics changes seem to be a bigger factor don't you think?
  12. When I was mesing with ksp on linux one time all he kernels on the main screen background were looking away from the camera and I saw a shovel and some dirt like they had just buried someone on the moon.
  13. why not install rss textures before hand so its never an option?
  14. get smaller sized textures, dds if you can too
  15. about linux, I found that Switching from unity to xfce (xubuntu) got the pointer to stop flickering. Even with the up to date proprietary amd drivers performance is much lower. Just manipulating the camera in the VAB with a cockpit (stock or fasa) out is a slide show. I also happened to see that the attachment node for the fast apollo service module decoupler does not line up anymore.
  16. I guess I need to understand rocket engines better so that I can guess better.
  17. I originilay was thinking that I'd like to do some more in depth research into the proper atlas staging but looking at it now it seems like the air starting upper stage is better and its not worth the effort.
  18. about linux. I already have some experience and I have installed ubuntu x64 on an sad with an updated ksp and can. I also installed RO while I was at it. I chose to use the odds 8k textures for Rss. my ram usage for Ksp is still at about 2.55-3gb for Ksp and about the same for RSS which is conveniently separate and is even displayed and labeled separately. the issue I have yet to play with is that my mouse pointer flickers. I believe I need to change the driver from the open source one that was installed by default to the proprietary one. I will try that later today is see what else pops up. Having played career with rp-0 and FASA installed I tried to recreate the Mercury atlas launcher but I did not have the tank available so I attempted to use 2 simlarly shaped procedural tanks with the "Atlas" texture. First of all mechjeb seems to have trouble with assigning the correct delta V to individual stages as no matter what I could not get it to display separate delta v before and after iIdecoupled the boosters with that weird fairing thing. Anyway, everywhere I researched about it I read about how the tanks where so much lighter than others and how that gave it an advantage. Supposedly without having pressure in the tanks they would collapse under their own weight. That sounds like balloon tanks to me, am I wrong?
  19. Iam trying to run ckan on ubuntu and I keep getting "Unhandled Exception: System.TypeInitializationException: An exception was thrown by the type initializer for CKAN.CmdLine.MainClass ---> System.IO.FileNotFoundException: Could not load file or assembly 'System.Core, Version=4.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089' or one of its dependencies. 20. just in time. on one of my first installs I had a bunch of engine mods and I had a lot of engines I liked but I am not sure which packs they are in. I tried downloading the mods and scanning the parts folders but I'm still left hanging. I was looking for the well known engines like the rs25, rs68, and other engines that are used on a lot of american LVs. I am also having a hell of a time with procedural tanks and choosing tank types.. There is no certain way to know what to use so I have to guess and I know sometimes have to be wrong and I hate not knowing. Only a few engines actually say pressure fed in their description. I don't know what do you do with a cryogenic service module engine as there is no cryo-servicemodule option. Is it possible to give procedural fairings matching textures to procedural tanks? As it is now there is stock off white, which would be ok if procedural tanks had a matching texture, and a few textures like german and an egg shaped saturn. I just saw EVE is on ckan now, too bad my RO install is downloading at ~200kbps.
  21. can you ellaborate on eeverything please, Id like to give linux ksp a shot
  22. you wouldnt need to make the wh9le distro0. just get one and install ckan, ksp, and all the mods/settings; then image it.
  23. I was thinking about using a linux install so I can Use a stable 64 bit client and have access to more memory. Any issues with linux? That made me think of something. What about a linux live cd with everything installed and setup already? You would still have ckan for updates aswell.
  24. couldn't you just take away all the biomes on Earth? or make the science return 0
