Rovers are kinda funky
Hobbes Novakoff replied to Red Dwarf's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
"Hex" angle snap? Don't you mean symmetry? And on what? The probe core? -
Basically this adds a sort of "backstory" type thing to career; you start out with a model rocket and get taught how to do the basic stuff then actually start with your main program. It needs these parts: A better-looking 0.625m nosecone (without the heatshield) that has an integrated parachute (Just like model rockets) A small launch clamp with probe core integrated An 0.625m SRB A really, really tiny version of an AV-T1 Basically, you start out with the parts to build a model rocket. You dont even have a probe core or anything. You build said rocket (This may be a good time to introduce players who *ahem* didn't read the tutorials to the editor). You launch the rocket. Gene Kerman may decide to pop in and tell you what all the stuff on the flight HUD means and how to launch. You launch your model rocket, recover it, and use the science you get to unlock the "start" node.

Rovers are kinda funky
Hobbes Novakoff replied to Red Dwarf's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Can you post a screenshot? One problem is that your rover might be made out of physicsless parts (Scott Manley did a video on the subject, I believe). This can cause quite a bit of weirdness within the game engine. Hope this helps. -
I think that's a bug. Physics warp in general is very buggy, especially on slower computers (At max physwarp you're basically quadrupling the load on the processor) and shouldn't be used with anything over 100 parts (Maybe more if you're on a gaming rig, but not much more). I think it's just a bug in the way that KSP handles intakes and engines. EDIT: Someone already provided an answer to the physwarp thing and they obviously know more than me about KSP physics

Community interest in Gas planet 2
Hobbes Novakoff replied to LethalDose's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
This may have been brought up already, but Squad has more or less shelved gp2 for the time being, as they have revealed they are working on an aero overhaul and deep space mining for .91 (See their "Happy Holidays" post). So the question is really: what do we want first? -
That's your opinion. I find that I can use the exact same vehicle, with the exact same obstacle setup, on the exact same track, and I don't ever get bored, and the exact same thing never happens twice. P. S. And it has a great port to mobile.

We're a fandom, but we tend to be (relatively) intellectual, so we're more civil. Unless we're provoked

Another good physics (ish) game is Turbo Dismount. You have your sort of rag doll/crash test dummy thing and you smash it into stuff and through minefields and bowling pins and jump ramps and stuff. (Wow, I really love using the word "stuff".)It also is very Kerbal when your monster truck does a barrel roll, crashes through a tower, and hits a minefield . You could also try Beam.NG Drive, as it has some beautiful soft-body physics (though the game is still in alpha so that may be a bit screwy) and has planes and helicopters and stuff too

I was joining some f2p website game and clicked "generate random name", liked the name Hobbes Novakoff and thus used that or some variation of it "Hobbes", "KingHobbes", or whatever in a bunch of games.

Hi everyone! I'm Hobbes Novakoff! I've been a lurker on the forums for a few months, and I started playing KSP around last March (I remember I started right around when 23.5 came out), so I am most definitely not a newb (bit of a noob though) About me: I tend to take the side with the best reasoning in an argument and stick with that side unless someone gives me relatively logical evidence to the contrary, so if I'm wildly defending something totally stupid, tell me why it's stupid and I'll stop. Design philosophy: Simplicity (my laptop is about the size of a serving platter and has maybe twice as much processing power) Aethestics (for reasons) Function

Well, there's a mod for that! (Ambient Light Adjustment by timmers_uk http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/71536-0-90-0-Ambient-Light-Adjustment-1-3-1-1-20-12-14-%28continued%29) Also, put lights on your ship as suggested above (hotkey is U; I think it used to be L but then someone realized that that was also the key for "translate right"). Or just time your docking maneuvers (about the only time when you actually need to see stuff, unless you're flying a plane, which should have headlights integrated into the landing gear) to occur on the daylight side of a planet.

Camera shifting downwards
Hobbes Novakoff replied to aallibhoy's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, modded installs)
Then try removing RemoteTech. Just because it's not on the forums doesn't mean it's not a thing. Also, 0.90 added a ton of new stuff, and with it quite a few bugs, I'm sure. -
Camera shifting downwards
Hobbes Novakoff replied to aallibhoy's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, modded installs)
I don't know very much about how that would work, and as far as I know none of your mods change the camera, but try launching a comparably-sized ship to your large one made out of stock parts. If that doesn't glitch the camera, than it's a problem with KW Rocketry. Otherwise... I have no idea -
Basically, I go to attach an SRB (is it "a SRB" or "an SRB"? Another support question:sticktongue:)to a radial decoupler and the game freezes and shows the twirly rainbow cursor of doom How to Reproduce On OSX Lion, add an SRB to a radial decoupler. KSP 0.90 'Beta Than Ever' Grand Discussion Thread!
Hobbes Novakoff replied to KasperVld's topic in KSP1 Discussion
And here I was thinking they would release it on Christmas. You didn't even give SWDennis enough time for the third hype plane video! Anyway, gotta go play the update! -
