  1. Also the control system for Helicopters is just horrible. I think I need to progress further to unlock more advanced control groups. Hopefully the do a lot better job in KSP2 with this stuff.
  2. I was playing around in my career game with helicopter builds for the first time. Whilst I was finally getting a craft to not crash 1 second after take-off, both engines cut out and I crashed in a firey wreck. One fuel tank survived and was completely empty. It was the larger fuel only tanks which has 400 fuel. So I check the fuel usage rates of the engines (R7000) and it uses 1.6 per second. So I compare that to the Wheesley which is on 0.23. What the hell? I check the R121 Turboshaft and it's 0.4? Why are the propeller and rotary wing engines so fuel hungry? They are all gas turbines. I'd argue the Wheesley is more powerful than either of these engines. It means that I need a large tank for each R7000 for every 5mins (roughly) of flying. The Wheesley is what 6 or 7x more efficient? That makes no sense at all. The Wheesley states it has 10x the air intake of the R7000 which suggests it's fuel burn should be much higher. The R7000 certainly isn't overly powerful as I need to run 2 of them at full power and speed to have any chance of getting my basic craft off the ground without counter rotating, which is nothing more than the 2 engines, the 2 fuel tanks, a seat, and some girders connecting it all. Just for context I used to be an Avionics Technician working on Gas Turbine Rotary Wing Aircraft. So I have experience and knowledge in the real world on this topic. What gives here? Is it just bad balancing? Or am I missing something?
  3. Hmm, OK. I do have a decently modded game. I'll see if simple adjustable fairings mod is one of them. I don't recognise the name but maybe ckan installed it as a dependency.
  4. I keep getting this error. Game seems to play fine anyway but I wouldn't mind knowing what's causing it.
  5. ? Take Two bankroll it. They are a mega Publisher that owns the KSP IP and the dev team making KSP2. Who else would fund it? This weird greedy cash grab early access thing has no place with a major publisher. It's pretty much the entire point of having a publisher. EA isn't some cover all for a excrementsty half baked tech demo parading as a game.
  6. Would of been nice if you developed a bit more before needing the community. Maybe another year or two to get the game anywhere near ready.

  9. They didn't communicate it's current state at all. They said a few features aren't ready yet but we're very careful to hide just how bad it's current state is. It's not a beta test. It's not even an Alpha. It's more like an advanced tech demo or proof of concept you might show to a potential publisher to get funding. I've got a feeling TT might cancel the whole project. It's got years of development left just to get it to a playable state with the promised features. Wouldn't surprise me at all if this is just TT recovering some of their investment money before cancelling the whole thing.
  10. Give it a couple years and revisit. It's got a long and bumpy road ahead, so long as take-two don't pull the plug first.
  11. They don't need play testers to tell them the game isn't ready to be played. It's in an awful state that shouldn't be seeing the light of day yet. It probably needs another year or two of development to get it anywhere near ready for a beta release. What they have provided looks like a tech demo or advanced proof of concept.
  12. Yes I've considered it. It's why I'm even asking. If they had just come out and said we are adding in a casino and calling it surprise mechanics I wouldn't bother coming to the forums and asking questions. I would just take the game off my wishlist and talk excrements endlessly about the game anytime it came up in the hope I could dissuade purchases. Like EA games. Been free of buying any EA game since Sim City which was what...? about 2013 or something? They will never get another cent out of me again. As it stands I'm just asking if there has been any statements that they definitely won't be adding any of these scummy methods of cash extraction?
  13. The EULA has ominous signs that take-two's predatory behaviour will come to KSP2. Is KSP2 going to get a casino disguised as a game added after the 1.0 release? Will they introduce Kerbucks and start selling OP engines and skins and mid flight refuels? It says any mod belongs to the company, not the creator. They are collecting any and all of your personal information to sell to 3rd parties. The EULA is filled with warnings about the worst business practices we know the gaming industry has been subjected to in recent times. I'm not buying in yet partly because of how awful the game is right now, but mainly because I can't take a chance of supporting any title that has gambling and microtransactions in it. Have they ever said definitively that KSP2 wont get crammed full of TTs general business model?
  14. It still works in the current version? It says 1.9 or something as compatible version.
  15. I did it anyway. Waiting until I had nothing flying. So it's a bit like starting a new game. I wasn't late enough to worry about ore or anything yet. I'm finding KSP very frustrating to play though because the in game alarm clock is so terrible and buggy. Doesn't matter if you only have a single ship at a time and are focused on it. Soon as you switch away though the alarms become very unreliable.
  16. Hey thanks for looking into it. Community resource mod probably got installed as a recommended or something when I was installing that small list of mods through CKAN. I'm happy to add Simplex Resources as an alternative.

Just reinstalled KSP and used CKAN to load a few mods. All happened about 3 days ago and it all looks to be in date. New career game of KSP with mods on from the start. If you need the save game or anything let me know. edit: https://imgur.com/a/ig3bn0E Took a couple screen shots of an older save when VAL was 10 days into her flight. Shows both the normal in game supply menu and the Kerbalism one which shows only electricity as a resource.
  19. I'm fairly early into a game, first time using Simplex. I don't think any of my starting kerbals are using food or air, or producing waste products. I just tried to achieve 30 days of Orbit with Val, she started losing her mind so I brought her back down. None of the onboard resources were used though. Saw the same thing when I took Jeb to the Mun. Do the starting 4 use and produce no resources?
  20. Are rescue Kerbals supposed to have no Jetpack? I'm trying to rescue one with a probe cored rocket. He has no pack though. His vessel has mono prop on board, he has a parachute. I managed to get the rocket to bump into him but unfortunately he still wasn't able to grab on. Now he is spinning away slowly and my rockets engine has died from too many ignitions trying to manouvre onto him. Seems unnecessarily hard to capture a Kerbal if this is intended. edit: Oh I see Jetpack is further into the tech tree. Guess that's why this guy doesn't have one. Taking a rep hit on this death I suppose.
  21. Not having closest approach in the stock clock makes it terrible. They should of just implemented the old mod straight into the game. It was so good. We can manually skip orbits until you see the close approach and then set a manual time in the clock but it's turned 3 clicks into about 50.
  22. You absolute legend. I'm just getting into manned flight on this play through. I was thinking I'd have to halt the play to wait on this fix. Worked like a charm.
