  1. If you read the proposed bill they're talking about here, it does provide for a booster competition (page 22/23) http://science.house.gov/sites/republicans.science.house.gov/files/documents/Bills_Amendments/H.R.____%20NASA%20Authorization%20Act%20for%2016%20and%2017.pdf
  2. CELSS is in my opinion essential to our future in space exploration, and should be a priority ASAP.
  3. I know that it eats up a relatively large chunk of NASA's budget each year, and that it would need to go out in a controlled deorbit (due to the potential of collisions), but what do you guys think? The Zvezda, the first module, expires in 2028 (as per the manufacturer's 30-year expiration date), and from what I understand that's considered the maximum possible lifespan.
  4. Don't all black hole orbits decay though? As you approach c, your momentum must stay the same, so you gain mass instead of velocity when accelerating (because adding velocity would put you over c). Therefore, wouldn't dropping the landers give it a boost regardless of anything else?
  5. I have a quick question here about the DSCOVR launch. Why is the fairing look so much bigger than the payload? Doesn't that mean wasted mass?
  6. Will DSCOVR use a PAM or something similar to circularize at L1? When will it arrive there? And did the Falcon 9 put it in a 200km by 200km orbit, an L1 transfer orbit, or a full L1 orbit?
  7. I just read on Wikipedia about the new Russian-ESA manned spacecraft, and it doesn't look like it will have a Soyuz-style orbital module. What are the advantages of this single capsule type system over a 3-module one? Isn't Soyuz much lighter than similar craft (ie Apollo) while having more room and life-support capabilities? Why drop the orbital module from the design?
  8. I've had several bugs, mostly with the space center, since I installed this in .90. I'm using windows 32 bit with all recommended mods freshly installed. First of all, at the space center, I cannot click on the tracking center or the launchpad; mousing over does not highlight it, though the radar dishes still move at the tracking center. In the VAB, nothing happens when I click the 'flag', 'launch', and 'exit' buttons. When loading saved ships I have a glitch where when I load it, it doesn't show up, and any new parts that I click on to add pop to the bottom like a new part, except for that I can't move them. Another minor bug is that when I do manage to launch, if I don't use launch clamps, the craft starts out at ground level, clipped through the raised platform of the launchpad. If I press anything, the ship flies up into the air for a bit, then falls back down. Any help would be amazing; I love this mod and really want to play it again! 9. Please provide your output logs as described by NathanKell Here they are. Thank's again! https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B1mr5Ix-VANGZTBxLXhTdHlBOUk/view?usp=sharing
  10. I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask, but here goes. I have installed RO and all of the recommended mods. Since I installed this (on a clean copy of ksp), I've not been able to load quicksaves, revert to launch (revert to vehicle assembly still works), or access a probe from the tracking center (meaning once I go back to KSC, I can no longer control my probes). The issue is that whenever I try to load one of these, only the probe core appears with what looks like it may be strange aerodynamic effects on the one side of it. It says 'No connection' (remote tech), even though the craft should have a reflectron dp-10 and a dish. In map view, it also doesn't appear as if the ship is selected. The example craft is using an explorer core, and is in Low Earth Orbit. I'm running 32-bit with active texture management. I have no control of the craft in these instances. http://imgur.com/a/QndTJ Any help would be great!
