  1. I think big Soyuz was a concept for an armed spacecraft. It was supposed to be a descent module that appears to be three times bigger than Soyuz, with a machine gun in place of the OM/docking port
  2. 8/10 Trains are cool, but planes are cooler.
  3. Well, if either of you need some more reference pictures of my model or advice on the little details, just give me a yell!
  4. I made cookies about two weeks ago: http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/129827-Kerbal-Cookie-Program?p=2103052#post2103052
  5. I didn't rescale the part though, it's still 1.875 meters, or it was before it shrunk
  6. Yeah, the bomb bay extends all the way to the top of the plane, but isn't very long, only one or two rows of bombs when I went through it. If it makes you sleep any better, there were cables strung along the edges to act as handrails, but then again, it WAS a tourist plane, so those may or may not be authentic. As for the wing, I'll let you see for yourself, here's a photo of my B-17 scale model: http://imgur.com/r9DTUxV would embed the image here, but I'm using a phone.
  7. Nice! From my own attempts at Soviet style naming, I assume that PTK stands for Pol Transport Ship (Korabl, in Russian). EDIT: Cargo Logistics Module is now on Salyut-M 1. Crewed spacecraft can now dock with the station. Uh... How do I fix the root part shrinking bug, again? It's a little hard to see here, but the crew tank on the FGB Core Module shrunk.
  8. Yeah, your wings look a little short. As for the ball turret's view of the bomb bay, I should mention that in order to get from the front of the plane to the back you have to cross a narrow catwalk that goes through the bomb bay. If you're going for minute accuracy you may want to add that, even if it doesn't lead anywhere.
  9. There's an aviation museum on my local military base that has several historical aircraft, such as the first helicopter bought by the army, and a complete replica of the Wright Army Flyer. They used to have a prototype AH-64 Apache from Desert Storm, but I think they got rid of it. Unfortunately, there aren't any WWII planes, I guess those are all in the Air Force Museum. I could rant about that place forever, but I don't want to derail this thread. Maybe one day I'll get some pictures and post them on their own thread for people to see.
  10. Well, Von Braun's team that worked on the Saturn family named it Saturn simply because Saturn is the next planet after Jupiter, which was the name of an ICBM that they had designed earlier. If this were to be continued, the rocket should be named Uranus or Neptune. I think Neptune sounds cooler, and avoids a lot of juvenile puns and jokes that could result from "Uranus" So my suggestion would be Neptune.
  11. One time the Experimental Aircraft Association brought a B-17 to an airport near where I live and offered tours for free. They sold flights in it for low price of $400. I didn't get a flight because I didn't have money, but I got to walk through the plane and get some pictures. They even let me crawl in the Ball Turret under the belly. That thing is small, I respect B-17 Ball Turret gunners very deeply.
  12. Wow, I didn't actually expect you to do it again, let alone in RSS. Well, I can't wait to see this! Have you ever used Tantares in your videos, by the way? I seem to remember seeing the old model for the ATV being used for one of your resupply craft... Hell yeah, one of the Great Ones replied to my comment.
  13. Damn, If this were around when I released the my Typhoon, I bet it would have been on here. Damn... So close to fame, yet so far...
  14. Time for Project Gateway MkII, perhaps, with Tantares instead of Kosmos? EDIT: Maybe you ought to do Mir next time. It can get boring watching someone make videos of the same thing twice.
  15. Well... I have my own space station in the works! Yep, it's going to be a Munar station. This is just the Core Module, based on Zarya. It is unable to receive BTK spacecraft right now, because BTK uses APAS ports while the station only has probe/drogue ports. The next module to go up (Cargo Logistics Module, derived from DOS) will have an APAS port to allow BTK spacecraft to dock here. I'm thinking of making Cygnus (rescaled to 1.25m) the station's main resupply craft, with Progress available as an emergency backup.
  16. Aha! Mars Climate Orbiter! The one that died because NASA mixed up Metric and US Customary. I think the SRBs are 0.975 meters. 1.25 meters is too big to fit nine around a 2.5 meter tank, so I had to scale them down. Maybe I'll get Editor Extensions to get a perfect 9x symmetry.
  17. Taking a break from the Boxkite to build a quick Delta II: It's got nine SRBs, just like the real thing, three of which are ignited in flight to burn out later than the first six. Unfortunately, it uses Tweakscale for some parts, including the SRBs. I have yet to fly it to orbit, but the reason this launch failed is because I tried to take over control from MechJeb and ended up pitching the rocket into an unrecoverable spin.
  18. I tried to do a Mars Exploration Rover with Infernal Robotics, but the lander and the ground didn't play nice. I think I owe a tribute to the MERs, because they are pretty much the entire reason I'm here today and not into sports or art or something else besides spaceflight. Those separatron triggered panels might work... Hmm, I've got time to try this, I can't play any online games for the next few days (modem crapped out on me), so I'm going to try this..,
  19. Good luck getting the Hermes ion drive to work as described in the book without losing your mind over how long it still takes to get to Duna in real time.
