I can’t fault you for that; the Atlas towers are frustratingly complex. It was hard enough to kitbash a convincing Agena tower, I wouldn’t dare suggest you try to make one from scratch. So that Hubble part is from SpaceDust, right? Does it actually have telescope capabilities akin to what you might find in CactEye or Tarsier, or does it have an entirely different purpose?

I’ve been having the same problem, but it only seems to happen in the atmosphere. If you look closely at my photo of the Redstone launch further up this page, you’ll just barely see one of those rays coming out of the capsule’s roll thruster. On the later photos taken in space, however, no such artifact can be seen.

Shuttle tailcone looks like a kitbash to me, Canadarm 2 is probably just SOCK's Canadarm parts scaled up in size.

Nobody's tried to do a Saturn I SA-1 with the S-V Centaur atop? Fine, I'll do it myself. The S-IV stage is (anachronistically) live, but since I haven't unlocked the Centaur-D tank yet the S-V is a battleship fashioned from the second stage of a Titan II. Even so, I'll be really happy when we start seeing some development progress on the new Saturn I; conformal decals and modular launch towers can only make an old rocket look so good.

It’s Katniss’s Cape Canaveral with a patch that allows it to be used in 2.5x KSRSS; you should be able to find it on the forum pretty easily. I had to place most of the launch pads (Missile Row, LC-17, Mercury pads) myself, but I’m playing in 1.11 right now so I don’t have any problems with mods that haven’t been updated. Also I’m using Zorg’s TUFX configs, textured unlimited, and I narrow the FOV of my screenshots to get a clearer background. Basically I finally got a computer with a real GPU about a month ago and ever since then I’ve gone absolutely nuts on KSP graphics enhancements.

If I remember right, wasn’t Thor development started a few years after Jupiter, and only because Atlas was experiencing such large delays? In fact, I think the Air Force was totally against the use of MRBMs until it was apparent that Atlas wouldn’t be ready in time to match Soviet ICBMs, at which point they took control of the Jupiter facilities and began work on Thor. FWIW this is mostly what I remember in my head, I’m not able to verify if it’s correct right now.

That was actually a really interesting read! It's a shame, really; if Jupiter had been deployed even two years earlier it would have likely been one of the most potent strategic weapons available to NATO and would have given US space efforts a little extra power to lift heavier payloads. As it turned out, though, Jupiter was an obsolete relic by the time it was declared operational, and as a launch vehicle it was passed over by rapidly advancing technology. Anyway, here's some more of what I've been up to: SM-68 Titan I development flights: SCORE Launch: Little Joe LES testing: More Juno II launches (with more correct decal placement this time:

Big screenshot tax incoming, to celebrate my new computer (that can actually run KSP faster than a PowerPoint slideshow) and my finally ironing most of the problems out of my new 1.12 career (by rejecting that version entirely and returning to 1.11): BDB gives you all the parts you need to launch a Juno I with Explorer right at the start of a career game, but I think the grind to advance from sounding rockets to orbital boosters is actually kind of enjoyable. I also think the missiles that would later become the launch vehicles we all know don't get enough attention, so that's what I've been doing the last few days.

Don't think so, I'm running KSRSS right now and I don't think it bundles Kronometer with itself in the first place. Regardless, I rolled my game back to 1.11 because of all the problems I was having with 1.12 and mods (not just with Kronometer, other mods too), and now I can just use the most recent official release. Thanks for the input though.

[1.8.1] Katniss' Cape Canaveral Extended
pTrevTrevs replied to kylelander's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Ah, well I rolled my game back to 1.11 and manually placed pads where the real ones are on the satellite imagery. Would be nice to have that already done for me in a mod though. -
What is that?

I've tried to install your Kronometer patch for my KSRSS game, but it seems like it's causing KSP to freeze in the loading screen (on 'Loading Part Upgrades'). I've heard of people having similar problems with different mods, so I'm wondering if there's a problem with how I installed it or if the files just aren't good.

[1.8.1] Katniss' Cape Canaveral Extended

So, does this mod include LC-5/6 or LC-17? Redstones and Deltas have feelings too, you know. -
[BETA] KSRSS 0.7 - Kerbin (or x2.5) sized RSS

That’s a good point, it also reminded me that in order for the Moon to have a realistic rotation pattern I’d have to edit its orbital period to be the proper 30 days, and instead of however long it is right now.- 1,880 replies

Question, I just started a new career in 2.5x KSRSS, but I don’t like how Earth’s rotation period is only around seven hours. If I tamper with the GameData files to change the length of an Earth day to 24 hours, will I encounter any serious problems? I guess the same question goes for other planets that don’t have realistic rotation or revolution periods.- 1,880 replies
