  1. Still talking about build time... The more I think about it, the more I think it would be a pain in the backside. I'd say leave that one to the modders. and the same with Life support. It's a feature that some people want, and can be added with a mod. Why not leave it that way? There's no reason to choke the game up with things that only some people want, and that can be easily added if you can't live without it. KSP is a great platform for customisation via mods, and the more stuff that gets hardwired into stock, the less potential for customisation.
  2. If you like an OSX feel, check out Cairo-dock http://mylinuxbook.com/cairo-dock-desktop-interface-for-linux/
  3. Do you perchance use Astronomers Visual Pack? I noticed they snuck a few interesting things that weren't there before into chatterer.
  4. Check out how rocky it's been in the past couple of months though.. Reckon that coincides with SQUADS decision to go gold? What happened on the 10th November?
  5. AHHHH HAHAHAHA!! That's mental. They look more demented than usual!
  6. It is an interesting choice of words, but I don't think it's necessarily indicative of the death of anything.. (Is is just me, or are the forums gone really morbidly depressing. Cheer up guys.)
  7. I use KDE, I find it to be have really good software options like Amarok, Gwenview, Konversation, Kate and Konsole, but if my laptop was less of a beast I would definitely go xfce over Cinnamon or Mate. It's lightweight, tried and true, and you can be flashy if you want or keep it simple.

    2d fps?

    Here is your POV:
  9. What a sad prospect. Even in the past month since I've been involved, and especially since the announcement that KSP was going gold I've noticed a general withdrawal of people who were friendly and helpful, and a drop in interaction. Probably some kind of remorse that the exciting times of EA are coming to an end, and the feeling of being a Kerbal Space Pioneer is dwindling. I've noticed that some of the people who have been here for ages generally interact with each other and ignore anyone new, and some are openly jaded and 'everything's been done'. Some are quite obviously dark on the idea of KSP being released before it's perfect. This community is known as one of the best, as far as not being overpopulated with arrogant kiddy a-holes. If you want a comparison, try the TF2 community one time if you want to experience what it's like to be surrounded by elite 12 year olds. I have to say, as much as I think the release of KSP is a bit premature, I'm glad for it, because after the initial surge of New Players I think most will be weeded out by its imperfections and steep learning curve. In my working life I encounter this a lot, I call it 'The Human Factor Filter' and what it is, is the more difficult and inaccessible something is, and the harder people have to work to find the excellence in something, the more the wasters and undesirables are weeded out and what you're left with are the awesome people who know how to find the good. So don't give up. If you're sick of it, take a break and come back but don't think it's lost. "We've only just begun... to live..."
  10. No, Lots of people use Mint, myself included.
  11. Ohai! Prepare to be assimilated. One of us! One of us! One of us!
  12. This would be awesome.. There's heaps of mods in the list that I know I'll never bother with.
  13. I doubt it. It's not like it's the first moddable game, and most people will probably just burn around in stock for a while, then go back to playing Modern Warfare anyway. Donations are really the only way to do it anyway, because at the end of the day the end-user gets to decide how much a mod is worth. So RoverGuy, that makes a really top notch product and heaps of them, and provides support and updates, can expect more donations than IdunGood6969 who can barely code and made one dodgy mod before disappearing. Names mentioned are examples only and don't represent anybody in particular I think modders make mods because it's another layer of gameplay for them, and they get satisfaction from the challenge of creating a mod that works, and then further satisfaction when people use it and enjoy it. I don't think financial incentive is a huge factor for *most* modders, and for those who it is, they're probably going to be sorely disappointed. The guys who do accept donations are probably very grateful for the 1% of people who do donate.
  14. Particle effects, and about another 10km/s... I think it would be cool. Comets are cool alright?
  15. Don't apologise dude... It's all good. I've been rattling the cage because I haven't had a response yet, and I just wanted to know if anyone was aware of my issue. Now, if I come up with any solution I'll post it, otherwise I'll wait for an update, either CKAN or EVE.
  16. What? Like destructible terrain? Man... That would be OSSUM!
  17. Nah I wasn't implying that at all, believe it or not I had my sarcasm hat off when I typed that. I have been thinking of things that could be realistically added to the game and been drawing blanks. I was asking in earnest to see if maybe OP had some new ideas. One thing I did come up with though, was Comets.. I'd love to see some Comets. A mission to try and land a probe on a comet would be SO COOL.
  18. I lodged a Github report about 2 weeks ago. I hope that the next time EVE does an update, the problem will clear itself up, as the version number will change. At the moment I did actually manually uninstall it, and installed Astronomers Pack (which reinstalls EVE anyway, but I couldn't install Astronomers through CKAN because for some reason it said that it conflicts with EVE, even though EVE is a dependancy. Even manually uninstalled the indicator for EVE stayed in the GUI. My games working fine, so my biggest gripe is that EVE always wants to update so I have to untick the box (I know, boohoo right?)
