  1. On our nearest celestial neighbour disaster strikes as an elementary part of the mission goes horribly awry
  2. Update: For those checking in now, here's the up to date episode link, lots of tech has been developed and we're now starting to really build bases! After a bit of a mandatory break from youtube and streaming (moving, slow internet etc.) I'm back with this new series! Forget difficulty challenges, real solar systems and whatnot. This time around we're focusing on the lesser visited gems in the good ol' kerbal system. Our sights are set on Eeloo and Tylo, and with full intend to colonize them. To aid in this endeavour we have Umbra Corp mod items which add resource gathering, some new rocket parts and a plethora of base building tools. Join me in my quest to unlock all these beautiful tech items and build a marvellous city of the future on these strange new worlds! Episodes 1 through 4 are up, subsequent ones will be added to the thread! Enjoy!
  3. My god, I started this almost a year ago! How time flies. Oh well, here's the last episode for those that view via the forum (does anyone do that?)
  4. Supercool! I'm in, starting immediately on stream. Take a gander here
  5. As the title says, I'll be playing the new KSP tonight. Nothing structured is planned, just playing the game and seeing where the new things take us. Live now!
  6. The first ship in the LDS line that can reasonable be called somewhat bigger than tiny. Lifting (just) over 200 tonnes to Low Kerbin Orbit this one is yours for under 600grand! Craft file here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/ucmem6acqh65wfc/LDS%20JellyFish.craft?dl=0
  7. The next product development cycle has produced... The LDS Fireworm! A ever so slowly launching monstrosity that will get your 100t (max) payload to LKO cheaply and reliably! (Next products will have accompanying screenshots brochures) Craft file here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/gxei440ndzpnbjf/LDS%20Fireworm.craft?dl=0
  8. Well, the thumbnail/still of the vid has the spec sheet and a picture, which should be visible right from the thread. But guard and/or expend your clicks any way you wish, I certainly won't lie awake fussing over them. I share stuff I enjoyed making, if that (or videos in general) isn't your thing that's fine.
  9. Hello Everybody! I've decided that after months and indeed years of focusing on nothing but the big picture massive space endeavours I'd stay on the planet for a change and try my hand at designing functional, elegant and easy to use ships (rather than single purpose monstrosities that require a three tome instruction manual to even get off the pad). So far I'm focusing on Launchers, ordered by payload to LKO capacity. So far I've got 50, 100 and 200 tonne launchers that are presentable and affordable and I intend to continue doubling payload size until my computer melts. It's really cold in here so it could be a while. Anyway without further ado, here is the first and admittedly basic ship, the MICROLAUNCHER. What I like in this is the simplicity. Zero complexity, just bolt your small payload to the top and go visit anywhere in the Kerbal system. Spec sheet and video below, stay tuned for the rest of the lineup! The MicroLauncher Ship file here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/23ddiv6et697uzn/MicroLauncher.craft?dl=0 The LDS Nudibranch (50t to LKO) Ship file here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/5xvgt1gg95c95jy/LDS%20Nudibranch.craft?dl=0 The LDS Fireworm (100t to LKO) Craft file here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/gxei440ndzpnbjf/LDS%20Fireworm.craft?dl=0 The LDS JellyFish (200t to LKO) Craft file here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/ucmem6acqh65wfc/LDS%20JellyFish.craft?dl=0 Oh and by the way, this is also an impromptu challenge to anyone: please be invited to achieve the same payload/dv/destination capability with less complexity or a lower cost! Have fun and fly safe, Lorenzo
  10. So once again I spent many days moving, but here's the second flag in the challenge and all is looking good for a successfull continuation of the mission(s)!
  11. 118km now, and the ion thing seemed to be working. Removing remotetech though since i lost LOS
  12. So far I've managed 42km. I've disintegrated in mid-air with some fuel still left and the ion-green drive as yet untested
  13. Have you played the indie game 'race the sun'? Its exactly this and a ton of fun! I was decently good at it too
  14. Arrival at the red planet! Interest in the challenge seems to wane a bit, but I intend to complete my entry!
  15. I'm not sure if this is the right place to put it, but over in the Challenges forum EllBristow has based a 'hardcore' kind of challenge around this mod and I'm doing videos of my participation. Currently up to episode 6, where a Duna mission built for reliability (lots of parts and redundancy) is taking shape. I'll leave that here, but feel free to redact if you feel it inappropriate. Having lots of fun with the mod so far! edit: adding in the next episode, which has lots and lots of failures en route to Duna!
  16. I could see a full realism series based on the overhauls working. Although those videos take significantly longer to produce due to everything being just... larger! For now, here's the first part of the Duna endeavour. Things start breaking at Kerbin already!
  17. Eh, what's a space program without a healthy dose of necromancy right? Here we have the last mission before we're actually going to work on the Duna Mission. Enjoy!
  18. My Duna mission is currently onsite, they sustained a number of failures en-route, many of which weren't serious at all, but on two occasions a fuel tank ruptured, spilling valuable reaction mass irretrievably into space. Will they make it back? Check it out a few episodes down the line (), first here's this minmus mission that happened.
  19. So I recovered from my illness and kept on trucking through the solar system. Episode three is up and it's mun time baby! Actually it's a pretty cut and dried munar mission, but it's been a long time since one of those so I enjoyed doing it! And ofcourse there's banter. Enjoy!!
  20. A little bit more progress, but I'm hampered by a biological real life implementation of the DangIt mod so it doesn't go so well. All the kerbals are fine though
  21. Does the DangIt mod tell you that something has happened? Or is it up to you to find out 'where the hell is all my fuel?'
  22. I reckon that a lot of difficulty will stem from the breaking of parts on long (or unmanned) missions. That won't be very noticable in LKO and should be very manageable to the mun and minmus, but will definitely be something to plan around for mars trips. First video rendering/uploading btw!
  23. Yes. Yes. I will check out these mods and give it a go! I've been looking for a new set of mods anyway!
