  1. Very possible. I would imagine they want to make sure 7 people have enough supplies to last for days/weeks in case something goes wrong.
  2. Wow. This would be extremely useful for tutorials, you should contact Squad about this.
  3. Livestream starting in 10 minutes! http://www.spacex.com/webcast/
  4. I remember reading about this when first playing Orbiter. Took many tries ingame to fully understand how to use it. I remember burning the wrong way and making my orbit bigger/smaller unintentionally plenty of times.
  5. One reason why ice didn't really form on the Space Shuttle or its external tank was because it was covered in that thick insulation (painted in orange).
  6. Cool news. Also pretty sure the kickstarter group can pull this off at a fraction of the price it would take NASA to do.
  7. Proton rockets. Those fairings look like they were salvaged from junk yards.
  8. Those searching should look up the real Apollo 11 landing coordinates, they match the easter egg on the Mun.
  9. Wasn't there someone working on a dust effects from landing? Whatever happened with that?
  10. Didn't stop playing until I landed on the Mun for the first time (0.13).
  11. Yes we do. A human can do more science in a day than a rover could do in a month. This is a quote from some of the JPL science team members behind Curiosity.
  12. Well that's asking to put those things on a kerbal seat.
  13. Just in general - the notion that when you're in space, you're now weightless and won't fall back down to the planet.
  14. That's actually pretty cool. Imagine going to another planet, coming back through some timewarp tunnel and finding your home planet bone-dry.
  15. Amazing mod. I think this is the third time I've posted this on this thread but it can't be repeated enough.
  16. New biomes for planets. It would make it worth for me to bring a rover to another planet for long duration missions.
  17. Great way to kill productivity. "I'll just watch until the next sunset, for sure this time"
  18. RocketCoder may have included that. After all, a Saturn V put the TLI stage into LEO.
  19. Even if there were, I believe most GSO satellites have engines that can adjust their orbit for any errors in the long term.
  20. Is there a working telescope mod that is compatible with this mod? As in, letting me see far objects (100k+ m)
  21. Alright SpaceX, time to step it up. JPL got some pretty decent HD descent imaging from Mars and you can't get a decent video from Earth? Joking aside, looks like a successful test of the landing system. I believe Elon stated they would try to land a stage on the ground by the end of this year.
  22. Sort of related, Elon Musk posted this on Twitter: Elon Musk @elonmusk · 10m Cover drops on May 29. Actual flight design hardware of crew Dragon, not a mockup. Exciting stuff. Hopefully the look of this capsule will stimulate Congress to choose to support Commercial Crew Program rather than buy Soyuz seats. Nothing against the Russians, but USA should have its own launch system for manned missions.
  23. Nice post Rdfox, very informative. There's a good level of redundancy with 2 LM pilots. Also, they could have had 2-man crew that abandoned the CSM in orbit, leaving it automated, but I don't think the technology at the time allowed this yet. Going back to KSP, I still bring 3 kerbals even if only 1 lands because there's quite a bit of science in the orbits between launch and landing.
  24. KSP gave them a shout-out! https://twitter.com/KerbalSpaceP They will start playing KSP soon for the next hour.
