Is it only with Kerbin?  Not other bodies?  When I run ksp1 on  older laptop with a useless graphics adapter I use a flag that forces all graphics to be done in software as if no graphics adapter existed and looking at any body allows things down immensely in flight view.  Map view is "ok".  So, I wonder if your Radeon is configured to work at all, or if KSP2 uses it at all.  I'm curious

Is there debug commands like ksp1? it would not be possible to get somewhere else due to the lag so i can't figure that out

@japoop888 There have been a few developer posts about upcoming optimizations dealing specifically with graphics. I, too, am hoping this resolves my issues. Right now, at launch, even a moderately sized rocket gets me about 5 FPS unless I change the camera angle to look away from the surface of Kerbin, then I can approach 15 FPS. But as soon as I point the camera anywhere towards the surface, it drops significantly (to the speed of a PowerPoint presentation).

The most current Developer Insight deals a lot with the future of graphics optimization plans:

I got the same problem. You have a radeon 580 too? I think the same occurs on 570s

Not sure if you're being serious or joking.

If serious, then this is not possible. Intercept said no wormholes, teleports, or any other 'magic' technology.

maybe just some lore potential then?

like something similar to the broken arches?
