  1. @Angel-125 I love this mod and have used it for years! With that said, I was getting the bug where KSP 1.12 would not load, and the only thing that resolved it was deleting this mod. I know you are busy, so I know a fix isn't going to be immediate, but I wanted you to know. Thanks again for this awesome mod!
  2. Notice that one of the objectives was to make the parts visually read like they come from one of the three major manufactures. The Yellow and Grey = Jeb's junkyard Orange = Rockomax White with an orange stripe = Kerbodyne I really like everything I see. I hope that the compact version of each engine fits in the size class below the normal engine. While I like the look of the new poodle, fitting that compact design into a 1.25m shroud looks difficult. I also do not see a 3.75m option in the "booster" section.
  3. By the way, I love the dart board in the Inflato Habitat PA550. I'm glad you kept that. Hilarious and very Kerbal to hang a dart board on the wall of an inflatable crew module. (complete with duct tape patches from darts that missed the board.)
  4. If you want to rotate your craft more quickly, you just need to push the keys repeatedly, not harder. This is effective. I know 'cause when I do this to call an elevator, the elevator will arrive more quickly with repeated button pushing.
  5. All my missions get space lego flags.
  6. It is a kick-back from Senator Hap Kerman from the great state of North Kerbolina, where the Biology Lab is assembled by his loyal constituents. Keep Kerbolina working and first in flight!
  7. I play career, and yes it is compatible. This is actually kind of hard to place on the tech tree. The concept is from the 1950's and they didn't believe they were that far away from being able to actually build this. Of course it ends up being very powerful, and should belong at the end of the tech tree. Then there is the fact that all the tech required for this was never actually developed due to the ban on nukes in space.
  8. Thanks for keeping this mod up to date. I just recently started using this, as I wanted to dabble in LS, but not spend too much time focusing on it. I would think that the "sweet spot" would be that crew pods have enough snacks for a trip to the Mun and a direct accent landing and return. But that would be far less than 50 snacks per crew. I have no trouble putting tons of snacks in non-command pods, because other than the Lab, the only point of non-command pods is to make the Kerbals more comfortable. (IMHO) I guess you could stick a probe core on a hitchhicker and use it as a non-atmospheric lander, but it still isn't a command pod at that point. If you want to avoid extra parts, then you can try adding snacks! as a resource for the fuel switcher, and just use empty fuel tanks to lug extra snacks around. I'm not opposed to extra parts and I really like the idea of the green houses, but I think they should consume sunlight (or artificial light in the form of EC) and ore to make more snacks!. Being able to directly convert EC to snacks! seems a bit like by-passing the need for the mod in the first place. (I mean you could effectively just write an mod that disables all Kerbals on a ship if it leaves Kerbin's SOI without a greenhouse or a metric ton of empty crew space.)
  9. This made me think of this story of a real word plane that was able to fly/land with only one wing, despite taking off with two... https://theaviationist.com/2014/09/15/f-15-lands-with-one-wing/
  10. I don't know if "immersion" is the right word for me, but with 1.1's cut away function, I need me some IVAs. (maybe I need them for my OCD) I actually held onto some of your old IVA's @Beale, and I've adjusted the configs to keep using them in the Salyut and TKS parts. I don't know the tantares version numbers, but some of the IVAs that are working in 1.1 are from as old as 0.23
  11. Thank you for posting that @hraban! I tried twice to dock a crew to my space station last night and thought I was going crazy. You just saved me countless hours removing mods one at a time to try it over an over again.
  12. I recently downloaded this mod, and I really like it. I'll be interested to see where this goes next. (Russian ISS segments?)
  13. I've never used LS mods before, but Snacks! seems like a good starting point. I self-enforce putting lots of extra living space for long journeys anyway.
  14. When people say "pork-a-like" I have to remember they are talking about plane parts. I always think of this mod when people say @Porkjet.
  15. I bet I'm the only one who can honestly say Dres. Back then I only played sandbox, and had done Mun and Minmus over and over. I really liked my Mun lander, and went looking for a place that I could re-use it. Dres fit the bill, about the same DeltaV requirements, and no atmosphere. I built a huge ship with about 8 nuke engines on it. It had two landers and two huge rovers. I ended up burning all of the fuel just circularizing around Dres, so I had to build a second mother ship to take more fuel out to Dres. Once they docked up, I fueled up a lander and rover, and landed them close enough that I could have a Kerbal walk between them. I was so proud of it, I never brought them home.
  16. Made from various mods, and a few parts I cooked up myself, this is my Kerbalized SkyLab:
  17. Looks good. How does it compare (thrust, weight, ISP) to the Nuclear Light-bulb from this mod?
  18. This is a very elegant depiction of my feelings on "stock-alike" sizes.
  19. Hay guyz, ware is the "one point 1 ruint KSP 4 me" thread? Am I too early?
  20. Arn't we getting a bit too critical here? I don't think this (beloved) mod has ever tried to be a hyper realistic model of reality. The first word after the dash in Tantares is "Stockalike", not "Realistic". It seems several of you are looking for the soviet version of FASA. Maybe someone wants to tackle that in a separate mod. I have been a fan of the 1.875 m Gemini in this mod, and I've been trying to think of the best way to describe why I really like it that size. This comment helped me think of the best way to describe my thoughts here. Mercury was 1.89m at the base, and more or less that scales to 1.25m (small) in the game (~ 66%) Apollo CM was 3.9m at the base, and more or less that scales to 2.5m (medium) in the game (~64%) So the non-stock capsules that we all love here (and in other mods) will fall somewhere in between these two sizes. Soyuz decent module is 2.2m diameter Gemini capsule was 2.3m at the base. (same as Vostok diameter) The VA capsule from the TKS was 2.9m at the base. The Stock game has 4 sizes. Tiny - 0.625m (one half of small) Small - 1.25m (the baseline size for KSP) Medium - 2.5m (two times small) Large - 3.75m (three times small and 1.5 times medium) Since the non-stock capsules fit into the space between small and medium, we are left with a few options. Everyone model their own capsules at whatever size they want Scale certain mods down or up so they can play nice and be "stockalike" (tantares Soyuz does this well) Modding community can align on a "stockalike" size between small and medium I'm a fan of the second and third option. 1.875m makes sense. It is 1.5 times small size. It also end up being one half large size. A perfect example of how this might play out is in using Tantares along with @Angel-125's MOLE mod. He is planning a 1.875m lab unit, and I'd like to put a Gemini capsule (from this mod) right in front of it. If the Gemini capsule goes to 1.5m, then I have to use the service module to make it fit with a 1.875m part. Another example is that I have used @Orionkermin's HGR and Corvus mods with Tantares to have some fun with the KSP "space lego" aspect of the game. I've used the 1.875m Soyuz service module from that mod along with some of the TKS crew cabins to make an early Tiangong 1 - style space station. Speaking of HGR, there was once (maybe still is) Gemini analog in that mod. It had an odd size at the base (not sure if it was 1.5m). That mod included an procedural adapter so that it would fit a 1.25m, 1.875m, or 2.5m bottom node. It was slick, but it just felt like you could never use that capsule with out the adapter. Sorry if this came off as a rant. It isn't. I love your mod @Beale! It makes the game more fun for me and I'm sure many others. I know you put in all this work out of love for the game, and not a paycheck. Thank you!
