McDonnell Douglas F-4 Phantom II [replica]
landfish2 replied to landfish2's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
To match them I use an overlay program to put the diagram onto my screen and then match that with my kronal vessel viewer window. When the plane is made I use photo editing to put a Kronal vessel viewer screenshot on top of the diagram. EDIT. Woo 2 stars ! -
McDonnell Douglas F-4 Phantom II [replica]

To be honest my style is based on what plane I'm trying to replicate. A lot of the planes I did earlier, I did earlier because they work better with stock parts and they work with less parts. But having run out of easily made planes I am starting to do harder planes that fit the game worse and that demand more parts to make accurate. This is illustrated best with the rafale as I tried it with the simple and low part count style and it simply looked wrong : and while the higher part count larger version is less clean and less simple it still looks a lot better than the low part count version: I would love to do more simple planes that fit KSP properly but there aren't really any left to replicate. -

Dassault Rafale multirole fighter [replica]
landfish2 replied to landfish2's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
I'm not sure if its what you meant but that 3-view is an overlay of an actual diagram of the real thing, I used to build replicas from just the top down view and though they looked very clean and nice and they were the proper size, they just didn't feel as close to the real thing so recently I have started making these larger 3D replicas which are less clean and less pretty but capture the feel of the real thing better IMO Yeah there really aren't many ways to do curves in KSP. The 'barrel cockpit' was the best solution I could find. -

how far it flies depends on altitude, if you go suborbital with it (I think it has enough intakes for it) you should be able to make it to the objectives stated. You could add drop tanks like on the real thing to extend its range and then you could probably make it even in low atmosphere. -

well since zokesia and other 'companies' are getting involved, fishland would like to put up some aircraft as well, probably the MiG 25 - to see whether mine or zekes is more powerful SU 50 - my most manoeuvrable plane -
