  1. Thank you so much! I completely forgot about the community fix despite using it before. Testing it now and it seems it has sorted out the issues I had. A bit more testing to be done but it's looking good.
  2. Having just returned to KSP, I find that stock game now comes with an inventory system. I have played with Persistence on/off and this system is causing a bit of a headache. With persistence on, I have an unlimited supply of parts with me and with persistence off, it's anyone's guess what they bring with them to the launch pad and into the capsule. They tend to be fond of parachutes... Any way to have this system at least partially persistent so that the inventory doesn't change between building and launching, and between launching, reverting and relaunching? Any other way of dealing with it? (I am waiting for KIS to catch up).
  3. Oh I did get that bit about the data logger I was just wondering about a quick way to access the logs if I say, have the logger tucked away in a cargo bay
  4. Just to wrap this up: Works like a charm it seems now. Just a little wish if you don't mind this fellow rambling: Either have the log functions available in the tool bar or through the command/function keys. Sorry if this has been covered and I'm just being dense again.
  5. I might have to do just that. So, now I get it all almost working except, the data logger unit in the science section can't be fitted. It's also the only item that can't be left floating in the VAB while building. I can select it and move the ghost image around but I can only put it back in the parts pool. This old brain feels half fried by now EDIT: Success. It might have been a faulty download. Downloaded again and now it attaches as it should.
  6. Ah! Now I feel a bit dumb thank you so much. I will give it a go!
  7. Strange. The mod folder was inside the game data folder and named 000_ClickThroughBlocker. I copied this into the game's GameData. EDIT: Just to clarify, I delete all mod manager created files each time I install or delete a mod.
  8. Sorry about the late reply. Real life and all Reinstalled all and got the player log https://filetransfer.io/data-package/yUDtgmH9#link
  9. Downloaded (also the dependencies) but something's not right and I hope to find an answer here. When I installed everything, another mod, RemoteTech, stopped working. That is, I no longer had access to the RT control panel.
  10. Oh not a lot. Just finding out that after a few years away from KSP, now rovers on Mun are a flippin joke. Disney On Ice galore. I know I built Mun-capable rovers that had great success exploring in the earlier version of KSP but now when I returned, these things work as well as a rocket engine made of cheese, that is not at all. That was a bummer.
  11. Testing KAS and I was wondering, is there a way to transfer fuel using KAS, bypassing parts that has no crossfeeding (crossfeeding rules apply), between tanks on the same vessel or vessels that are docked to one another?
  12. Awesome! Thanks, guys Still, I kind of like to have a little rpg with these little green fellows. Have them earn the badge so to speak.
  13. Hey all. As I found myself revisiting KSP for the first time in ages, I was wondering: For Kerbal experience, would there be any reason other than for role playing to do the leap into space in stages like suborbital -> orbit -> Mun flyby - > Mun orbit and so on and so forth, or will the Kerbals get the same experience from doing a full Kerbin/Mun/Minmus exploration in one go?
  14. That would be a cross sum. Fun (perhaps) tidbit: To check if an integer is divisible by 3, check if the cross sum is divisible by 3. You can also check the cross sum of the cross sum etc etc if you're not sure at first.
  15. Playing with maths is fun. I remember the thrill when I found how to add the n first positive integers through playing around. Sure, the formula is well known but back then I didn't know that. I could have picked up a book and read about it but I wouldn't have gotten that thrill. It's not always the end goal but the journey to get there. Another fun one I found by playing around with maths was an alternative to Herons formula for an area of a triangle without knowing (or caring for) the height. The maths took me something like 2 densely packed A4 pages but the end result I just find oddly beautiful in how it really shows how all sides in a triangle are of equal importance, that no particular side is more or less important. I like the symmetry of A = 1/4 sq.r [2(a2b2 + a2c2 + b2c2) - (a4 + b4 + c4)] where a, b and c. are the 3 sides It's not the tidiest of formulas but again, the symmetry is something I like. If p = a2b2 + a2c2 + b2c2 and q = a4 + b4 + c4 then A = 1/4 sq.r(2p - q)
  16. I don't really like to do this but: Anyone have an idea what's causing this?
  17. Version: 1.10.1.2939 64-bit, Breaking Ground 1.5.1 Problem: Crash (Unexpected Mark Stack Overflow) Reproduce: Inconsistent but mostly it happens in flight after 2-3 launches in a new game. It can also happen at KSC right after switching to another building. The same crash happened with only KER installed (see below) Mods: KAS 1.7 KIS 1.26 KER 1.1.7.2 Kerbal Alarm CLock 3.13.0.0 Remote Tech 1.9.8 SCANSat 20.4 Log: https://1drv.ms/u/s!At_v0Vn3X1ePwR1soA2ATDoGK0Er?e=MTpmp8
  18. In this article (Sept. 28th) https://www.pcworld.com/article/3583894/tested-nvidias-new-drivers-fix-rtx-3080-crashes-by-sacrificing-clock-speed.html it appears that the crashes are related to overclocking the GPU, and with new drivers from Nvidia, capping the clock, the issue is (reportedly) fixed. Update (Sept. 29th) https://www.pcgamer.com/nvidia-rtx-3080-gpu-crashes-instability/
  19. That is one thorough post. Thank you a couple of bunches! With my trusty calculator out of commision for the time being, I rely on notepad and Wolfram Alpha but that combo is not the most expedient or practical there ever was and I was afraid I had made some silly errors along the way.
  20. Saw ST in the cinema with a bunch of mates. That was one wicked awesome way to spend time!
  21. First my setup ASUS GeForce RTX 2060 DUAL EVO OC AMD Ryzen 7 3700X HyperX Fury DDR4 3200MHz 32GB ASUS ROG Strix B550-F GAMING Corsair TX750M, 750W PSU Windows 10 Home In KSP (only game so far I've seen it, the other 3 I've tried are Ostriv, Mount&Blade Warband and Dawn Of Man and I haven't seen any problems there... yet) I have seen, in the last couple of days straight lines (long, short, meeting at a point) in the sky as well as thick dark blurry lines on the ground of Kerbin around KCS. Any known issues or a sign my graphics card is about to push up the daisies? Temperature of the GPU is about 53 degrees centigrades during play and %-wise it's in the 40''s to 60's. 22. A summary so far (Sept. 28th) https://www.pcworld.com/article/3583778/nvidia-geforce-rtx-3080-crashing-issues-what-you-need-to-know.html This article refers to Igor and the capacitors but is careful in stating that it is still theory, not proven.
  23. That was the video that piqued my interest in the issue Thing is, there are now coming out reports from several places saying this might not be the issue after all. In this article https://videocardz.com/newz/manufacturers-respond-to-geforce-rtx-3080-3090-crash-to-desktop-issues it is suggested that the capacitors are the cause but nothing is. as far as I'm able to tell, for sure and the cause could be something else. EDIT: A follow-up article from Igor's Lab https://www.igorslab.de/en/nvidia-geforce-rtx-3080-und-rtx-3090-and-the-crash-why-the-capacitors-are-so-important-and-what-are-the-object-behind/ EDIT 2: It's also worth noting that Igor's Lab's report from Sept. 25th https://www.igorslab.de/en/what-real-what-can-be-investigative-within-the-crashes-and-instabilities-of-the-force-rtx-3080-andrtx-3090/ never states that the capacitors definitely are the cause. EDIT 3: In this twitter post, it is claimed that ASUS cards crash as well https://twitter.com/HardwareUnboxed/status/1309659834468298753 This was linked in this article https://www.extremetech.com/computing/315511-a-stability-problem-is-brewing-with-nvidia-rtx-3080-3090-gpus
  24. First, I don't know if this, or the Science sub forum is the right place for this so mods, feel free to move it if it belongs over at the other sub forum. Now, there might be a good chance some of you have your eyes on the new 3080 family of graphics cards from Nvidia/multiple manufacturers. Some of you might have heard these cards are reported to have issues leading to the GPU crashing. I am more than a bit confused since the internet is going all out in reporting this, and the responses from Nvidia and the manufacturers, with some new reports only repeating old news posing as new, some reports contradicting others etc. So far, I've gathered, there is a problem with 6 capacitors, more specifically what type exactly, of capacitors the various manufacturers have gone for. At first, it was reported that ASUS cards did not see the same crash frequency as other brands but just today I read a new report stating that ASUS cards crashed just as much as any other brand. Some (honest) reports say the capacitors MIGHT be the cause, others say they ARE the cause case closed, and yet others say the capacitors have nothing to do with it. Have any of you followed the 3080 debacle, and if so, what are your thoughts on this whole thing?
