  1. Thanks for the replies, yes the book I read was the lectures on physics, and I am starting to read it from the beginning.

As for the "Course on theoretical physics", I don't think I can read it as it is too advaced, also wikipedia says it is a graduate level book.

Also, UmbralRaptor, if you know any good modern books, please do tell me about them.

  2. This whole thing bothers me. Suppose that future experments will conform (I still doubt that they will) that it is working, what would that mean for Physics? Would it mean there are some kind of aether that the drive pushes aginst?

  3. Hello I need a little help, I want to learn some Physics (You know as a hobby) and I need to find a good textbook, can you help me? Also I would prefer a book with a good amount of exercises.

    P.S.

I read about Physics in the past in an old Feyman lectures book so I know a few things about mechanics and special relativity.

BTW, I am asking here because it appears that many people here have an understanding in the subject but I am not sure if it fits the purpose of the forum, so I am sorry if that is the case.

As an example of this, notice that basketball player Michael Jordan is able to float more than the other players. As he moves down the court and jumps with the ball in his hands, he accelerates the chakra energy between the hands and resonates the energy inside the spherical ball. His forward velocity then becomes crossed with the rotating chakra energy which provides him sufficient extra lift to out jump his opponents. It was also learned that Jordan clears out the locker room just before a game and meditates. This allows him time to concentrate on increasing the spin of his chakra energy.

I wonder what John St. Clair has to say about Lebron James...

The basis for this invention is an event, referring to FIG. 1, occurring on May 2, 2004, in which the inventor (“heâ€Â) personally experienced a full-body teleportation while walking to the bus stop (A) along a road (B) that runs perpendicular to the nearby commercial airport runways where planes are landing.

You got to read the whole thing.

  5. I don't know about that. Think about how much technology has exponentially advanced throughout the years. The technology to cross vast distances can exist a little easier than you might think, but there's no way the... "Authorities" will allow it to be invented.

You saying FTL exists and the G-Men suppress it? Conspiracy much...

I don't think that anybody will do that, due to the economic potential it has.

And, BTW, from a Relativity standpoint, FTL implies time travel, with all it's paradoxes, so I am having a hard time supporting that.

  6. About Universe Sandbox, from what I understand, Universe Sandbox just calculates every possible pair of objects using Newton's law.

Here is a quote from Dan, the creator of the simulation:

Since each body compares itself to every other... The math should be:

    5 bodies: 5x4 = 20 force calculations

    20 bodies: 20x19 = 380 force calculations

    100 bodies: 100x99 = 9900 force calculations

    Here are the basic steps:

1 - Calculate the force between each body and every other.

2 - This force is converted into the corresponding X,Y,Z forces based on where the bodies are in space.

3 - The 3D acceleration is applied to each body resulting in a new velocity and position.

4 - There are also checks for collisions between every object.

5 - And the scene is redrawn.
