  1. Let's not forget he was the narrator of Seaman on Sega Dreamcast. I've appreciated his work more since the days of playing that game. He was an actor of the first caliber - and never afraid to take on unorthodox projects. The world is greyer today without you in it, Mr. Nimoy.
  2. Anyone play DayZ standalone? If you want someone to run with, add me on Steam and send me a msg. My Steam ID is the same as my forum name.
  3. some purty pictures of Kingdom Come: Deliverance -
  4. Aw snap, Team Red is getting thrashed in the numbers - I wonder why more people prefer Nvidia these days. Back in the early 2000s ATI was basically the only game in town, and since then I think AMD has done an admirable job maintaining and building the brand.
  5. To be fair, Antec is fairly decent by virtue of being a large volume PSU OEM, despite being no-frills and not 80 Plus - you could do a lot worse (I've seen teardowns of some super-cheap Chinese PSUs and the build quality can be dangerously poor). It is a good rule of thumb to stick with 80 Plus PSUs however, Seasonic makes an 80 Plus Gold 450W which is $64.99 on Newegg - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817151127 Any experienced system builder will tell you that the PSU is not the place to try to save money - a dodgy PSU can fry your entire system.
  6. I agree, this one is good - GIGABYTE GA-H97-D3H LGA 1150 Intel H97 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard, $94.99 @Newegg. This one is nearly identical, except for the red "gamer" look, but it's more expensive - GIGABYTE G1.Sniper H6 LGA 1150 Intel H97 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard, $109.99 @Newegg.
  7. And if you do go the i5 route, it's worth it to throw an aftermarket CPU cooler into the mix, like the Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo - for about $30 you'll be running cooler and quieter, and will have a reasonable amount of OC headroom with K series chips.
  8. @Amihan - Your list looks solid to me, as for my brand preferences, I would go for Gigabyte for the motherboard, Sapphire for the video card, Fractal for the case and Seasonic for the power supply.

  15. There's no indication from the article that an Apple produced "iCar" is anything more than 100% conjecture. Apple has been working towards more car integration with existing manufacturers for years, this probably has to do with that, if anything. Saying an "iCar" is coming is just spreading silly (groundless) rumors.
  16. I know the V bombers have been mentioned before, but continuing on the British aviation theme, here's some glamour shots of the Avro Vulcan. Ooh la la, that delta wing!
  17. A pioneering British fighter jet, the Gloster Meteor.
  18. Get the CPU first - i5 4690k is a great choice. For the GPU, it's worth waiting until at least May because by then the new AMD R9 300 cards should be starting to come out and could offer better price-performance than current gen Nvidia offerings or at least drive the price of AMD R9 200 cards way down.
  19. Lockheed U-2 "Dragon Lady", our eyes in the skies for over half a century.
