  1. I know what you meant. However, I'm not going any farther down this road because this thread is already too political and this is not a political forum. You can stand on the left, I'll stand on the right and we can save the nuts and bolts of the conversation for elsewhere.
  2. I only wish that people speak up and try to change things politically because of this tragedy - rather than simply spreading twitter slacktivist platitudes and doing nothing else. That would be honouring the lives lost.
  3. I play KSP on a Mid-2011 iMac, specs - 2.8GHz Core i7, Sandy Bridge 16GB 1333mhz DDR3 RAM Radeon HD 6770M 512MB @ 1080p It runs fine, even with larger crafts, as long as I keep anti-aliasing on low. It runs better on my Windows PC, but not better enough to warrant not playing on the Mac most of the time (Mac is my main work PC, so it's the one that's used most of the time).
  4. Old Man Gloom - To Carry The Flame I go hard. \m/ \m/
  5. More quintessential Bach. Orchestral Suite No. 3 in D major, BWV 1068, "Air on the G String"
  6. Here's my first impression of "The Flat Earth Society" -
  7. I know this thread probably won't be too active as the KSP crowd trends rather young, but I felt like making it anyway - Post your favorite pieces of classical music (youtube embeds are best for sharing). If you like, post things like lyrics if available and reasons why the music speaks to you. I'll start with J.S. Bach, Jesu Joy of Man's Desiring - No words. They should have sent a poet.
  8. I don't do the resolution thing, I just sort of let those come to me organically. Anyway, I wish good health and good fortune to every one of you in the new year.
  9. more Teutonic steel - the Scharnhorst-class battleships, Scharnhorst and Gneisenau -
  10. They went down fighting like lions! Preußens Gloria!
  11. I was under the impression that usually the first thing to go on a mainboard are the capacitors. Although this may only be the case with electrolytic caps, not sure about solid caps.
  12. That's cool, I also have a maxed out Mid-2011 iMac (the 21.5"), in addition to my gaming PC - I use them both. Anyway, to anyone interested in a good PC on the cheap, $400 (~£250), done and done -
  13. There are ways to get Windows legitimately on the cheap - As for learning how to configure and build a PC, all I can say is that it's not without challenges but it is a rewarding experience.
  14. You can get an outdated PC on ebay for 200 quid, but if you save just 300, you can build a decent low end, modern gaming PC that would be orders of magnitude faster and better. There are lots of useful build guides on youtube. Even though I'm an Intel man myself, for your price range, I would recommend an AMD APU dual graphics build - excellent performance for that price range.
  15. SM is Shader Model - or the shading capabilities of the GPU. It's a hard requirement, so if the requirements state that KSP needs at least SM3, you can take that as gospel. So just look for that in the specs when shopping for GPUs. Anyway, from personal experience I can say that KSP runs fine on my Radeon HD 6770M and runs great on my Radeon HD 7950, if that helps.
  16. ^Totally agree. Gaming laptops are a racket. Building your own desktop is absolutely the way to go. If you need portability for LAN parties, they make smaller desktop cases with handles and the like that you can still fit very powerful hardware into.
  17. I've been on a Myth TFL and Myth II nostalgia kick lately, myself.
  18. I got a Jeb shapeways figure. Now he can give me inspiration even when I'm not playing KSP.
