  1. What is your web browser of choice? Why do you prefer it? Optionally, what web browsers have you used in the past - when and why? If I've forgotten your favorite browser and you think it should be in the poll, let me know.
  2. This, I bestow upon thee: Blow that magic horn!
  3. I get my rocks off in a different manner.
  4. I've been waiting for this flyby with some anticipation - the first high res pictures of Pluto is something to get excited about!
  5. Beautiful short film - but full of glaring scientific inaccuracies. Anything with Carl Sagan is always cool.
  6. I use Google for searches (via Chromium usually). I also use Google for email, but I'd like to eventually find another more trustworthy email provider. Back in the day my search engine of choice was Excite - anyone remember that one?
  7. It looks like Moorish design, but Zaragoza is in the north of Spain? My history is fuzzy.
  8. I'm 32, I don't care who knows. I might not technically be an geezer, but I feel like one sometimes! At least growing up in the 80s and 90s was a*w*e*s*o*m*e - kids these days don't know what they missed!
  9. Mitsubishi A6M Zero The best carrier based fighter in the world at the outbreak of WWII, the backbone of IJN air power and an iconic fighter. Tennouheika Banzai! btw, if you haven't seen The Wind Rises yet, ERMAHGERD GO SEE IT.
  10. Mil Mi-24 (NATO code name : Hind) Another enthusiastically "not-western" looking Soviet beastie. Looks like some sort of demented dragonfly ready to give you a nasty bite.
  11. Hell yeah, I just watched Where Eagles Dare last night and noticed the Bell 47!
  12. aaAAAAAAHHHHH EKRANOPLAAAAAAN!!!!!!!!! :O Lun-class ekranoplan (NATO code name : Duck) - technically not an aircraft (not a hovercraft or hydrofoil either), but just too freakin' nutty not to include!
  13. I love love looove this plane - and to think they want to replace this thing in ground support missions with the F-35, complete madness!
  14. Seeing as Messerschmitt was merged into Deutsche Aerospace which was merged into EADS, and both these planes are owned by EADS, they can actually directly lay claim the design and all the engineering. Yet, that is a political statement. Please remember Rule 2.2.
  15. The Delta IV Heavy will be my favorite rocket tomorrow if they manage to coax it into getting the Orion test flight mission into space.
  16. A few pics of two restored examples of this beautiful beastie -
  17. That and the max airspeed definitely goes all the way to 11.
  18. Tupolev Tu-95 (NATO code name : Bear) 575 mph, 9,400 mile range, 4 Kuznetsov NK-12 turboprops (the most powerful turboprop ever built). A menacing icon of the Cold War - can still be found skulking around the airspace of western nations.
  19. Aw you just beat me to it! This plane is a BOSS.
  20. Yay Bf 109! Technically speaking not the "best" or the most glamorous fighter of the war, but absolutely the backbone of Axis air forces - and I happen to think it's purty lookin' - and still a force to be reckoned with in the hands of a skilled pilot.

    Wii U

The new generation of consoles? Meh. My PCs, iDevices, 3DS and old consoles provide more than enough choice.
  22. The march of pioneering German jet designs continues - Heinkel He 162 Volksjäger This mofo was made out of wood and could hit 562 mph with a service ceiling of 39,000 ft. The hunchback design with the forward swept wings is strangely appealing. I think I find this thing . . pretty?
  23. And of course, the essential Messerschmitt Me 262. A round of applause, ladies and gentlemen.
  24. Sukhoi Su-27 (NATO code name : Flanker) Beautiful lines, crazy maneuverable. One of the last great Eastern Bloc jet fighters of the Cold War period. This thing is so Russian looking it makes my face hurt.
