  1. Hi Dr. Dworkin ! That's nice to see some NASA scientists here. May you talk a little about this awesome OSIRIS-REx mission and your job on it ? I hope that it will succeed ! About the KSP mission, I have a few questions : - What should be the key features of the probe (mining drill, experiments,...) ? - What should be the asteroid class size in KSP to copy Brennu size ? - Shall I use the Dmagic Orbital Sciences Exobiology Core Drill ? - Can I launch it with a russian rocket ? Also I put two of your pictures on Imgur for lazy people :
  2. Tried to create the Firefly alpha rocket with limited mods (KerbPaint, Tweakscale, KSA better fairings) but I didn't made it satisfactorily. The engine I made for the rocket is however pretty nice (imo). It is a stock aerospike engine with 12 upscaled Spider engine
  3. I just dropped the top craft from a "crane" attached to the bottom one. (just some decouplers and girder segment) and I'm trying to create a better system to put the complete module under a reasonable size fairing. The top part is rotating thanks to the free pivot mode of the Advanced Grappling Unit Inspiration :
  4. It may be also be nice to have an award for mod creators
  5. That's an idea. It might be cool to have something longer with a grappling unit at the end to move modules from a dock to another and grab approaching vessel
  6. Thanks for the tips ! I have a problem with fairings as a linux/potato user, the texture is very bad like this.
  7. Hi ! I don't know if you guys heard about the new Nasa Dryden project to build a quieter supersonic plassenger jet. Lockheed Martin is designing this demonstrator called queSST I found the look super nice and tried to recreate it on vanilla KSP. I'm open to any improvement suggestions. Here is my creation : You can find this craft here KerbalX
  8. I might need some help to launch it, my computer is a real potato. I 'd like to put some greenhouse, I don't think that's possible with the mod list. What about a simple robotic arm made with AGUs free pivot mode ?
  9. The wings are bad for a dragon, but it flies (not really well). I had some hard time to make it fly, as it wabbles a lot at 15m/s. I made some detachable "training wheels" to stabilize the craft. Had some fun (not) landing this craft amongst glorious fire
  10. I like it Now put some wings and fire-breathing for a dragon !
  11. So nice ! Remind me of some airplanes from the movie Porco Rosso like this "Federation Airplane"
  12. I agree ! Maybe the swept wing complicate the patern. Maybe with a "small delta wing" and a "structural wing type D" side by side is better Very nice work
  13. For the first part, I thinked : tiny contraptions, that's so cute ! Then BAM, huge ships, the hammerhead shuttle inside is very nice though Very good work ! PS :you may like the cockpit/eternal seat part from the SXT mod
  14. Hey, that looks nice ! You may also try with B9 Aerospace, it has some nice cockpits and cargo bays. Lack's Stock Extension has a really nice cockpit with two external seats which may perfectly suits the fish-bone. RLA Stockalike 2.5m vacuum engine should looks nice at the back Fuel Tank Plus have some nice tank caps for the top and back fuel tanks (and also color choice)
  15. I like it that way because sometimes some awesome peoples (like ksp modding community) have very good ideas and/or skills. The number of mods available is huge and if I don't like a feature or need more stuff, there is always something I can use. In gaming, some mods achieved to beat the vanilla like A Game Of Thrones (for Crusader Kings 2), Third Age (for Medieval 2 Total war) or DayZ (for Arma II). In my opinion, Realism Overhaul is one of this kind 1- I use Enhanced Navball and Precise Node 2 and 3- Essential mods. Should be in-game 4- I use Dmagic/Scansat for moar science and activities. The BTDT scanner ,for exemple, is really time-consuming but rewarding. New Horizons is truly a must-have for a better solar system (and long-range missions) 5- Contract Configurator and his contract packs ftw (join SSI Aerospace now !)
  16. Looks fun, I'll try it ! Your launcher is not really a trolley ! More like sticks of dynamite glued to the glider
  17. Hello ! This is not my first station, but it's the first I'm proud of ! I made it with three rockets : - The core with a cupola module, a Hitchhiker Storage Container, some RCS fuel and the main node - A 5-seats return capsule using sepatrons to de-orbit - Some fuel supply (one tank is actually empty because I have some fuel left in the previous rocket) and a gizmo to de-orbit some debris It's a fully able space spation now and I want to make it a space gas station for my future missions !
  18. That's impossible because twinboar doesn't have any power generation, so you need at least one solar panel
  19. Easy-peasy ! Could have done it with 3 parts, but RocketPropelledGiraffe's one is good enough. Four parts : Mk1 Lander Can, 2x Jumbo 64, 1 Vector engine (really OP)
  20. Hey ! So , I decided to make a podracer for this challenge, with a frame-boat to carry it on water. It has two basic liquid fuel engines and here my results : Highest depth : 984 m Highest horizontal speed : 28.4 m/s Highest underwater speed : 52.5 m/s (vertical climbing from the bottom) Highest distance travelled underwater : 57.2 km I broke two of my fins on purpose to prove that I reached the bottom [imgur]Jn4q5[/imgur]
