Okay I understand now. And there is no way to minimize transmission penalties right? Like better antennas, solid connection, distance, etc? You just set the transmission percent in the settings and all transmissions follow that rule?

I just wanted to ask a quick question about the science relay mechanics. I've read through the forum and still am slightly confused. So if an experiment can transmit 100% to ksc, but I send that data to a science lab to be processed first, that experiment receives no penalty for transmission to the lab? It's equivalent to docking the vessel with that experiment to the lab, and manually transferring it to the lab for processing? But if the experiment can only transmit less than 100% then the data received is docked according to the transmission percent? I saw a post from DMagic from October (it's a huge post so I wont repost it to keep this short and sweet) that used the mystery goo on Laythe as an example. If the goo was sent to a lab, only 4.2 data would be sent. But if the data was resent, there would be 100% transmission to the lab. Does this compound with the initial test that was run? As far as I knew, labs can't process duplicate readings, so does that mean it needs to send to another lab? Or will it group it as one reading and process all of the data?

When I try to do any SCANSAt scanning, my altitude reads "all scanning is disabled". I have no idea where to even begin to start looking to see whats happening. I haven't messed with any settings since my last satellite (which worked fine), so I have no idea why its now saying this. Thanks for anyhelp. I'm dumb. I fixed it.

How do you find the combinability exponent for antennas?

I finally got it fixed. I think it was like the person who had to reinstall windows. I have no idea what was wrong with it, but I decided .... it, I'll try updating to windows 10. It now opens, I'm not sure how well it plays but its opening and running now so thank god. Thank you so much sal_vager for taking the time to try to help me with this. I'm sorry you had to spend your time looking at everything for something that was resolved so easily, but I really appreciate how helpful you were.

even when i tell it to use the gforce processor it still crashes. and fnf3 shows me what displays i have plugged in and if i want my screen to be continuous or duplicate and all that. maybe i could try disabling my intel driver?

The only other game I have on my computer is limbo, and it won't start either. It pops up a fatal error message saying "No gfx hardware acceleration found (DX9 Error -2005530518)". However when I go into my device manager and go to the properties of my device adapters, the devices' statuses say they are working fine and enabled. Also when I right click on KSP.exe and go to the open with graphics options, my gforce is set as the default one to open it with. Wow this is really weird. and i went to the nvidia graphics site and updated what it offered

I've done a fresh install of kerbal multiple times :/ I deleted the files in the commons and everything so I lost my current save files :'( also instead of just reinstalling windows, do you think i should just upgrade to windows 10? I don't know if windows 10 and ksp play well together, but I can upgrade for free. So I might as well upgrade right? I have no idea what else to do so the reinstall of windows is kind of the last hope as far as i can tell, but my knowledge on computer parts and how they work together is pretty limited.

I downloaded the directx thing to try that, but where should i have the files go to? is there a certain folder or location i should have the file unzip to? Never mind i figured it out. hopefully this works. I really can't thank you enough for helping me with this.

It says my direct x version is direct x 11, however it says the dx setup parameters are not found. could that be the problem?

I was playing kerbal just a few days ago just fine. But last night and today, whenever I open it it crashes without even opening. I've updated my graphics drivers, I've uninstalled every mod, I've done a clean install a couple times, and restarted my computer after the updates and installs. I'm on windows 8.1, and have not updated to 10 yet. My computer has 8 gig of ram, and an almost empty hard drive, so i don't know how it could be a memory issue. Like I said, I was playing this just fine with tons of mods just a few days ago, but now even a clean install and graphics drivers up to date isn't helping.

So it's the experience that allows rockets to get built? Along with not stupid kerbals? I'm not really sure what is causing them to not build I thought only stupidity was the determining factor in builds.
