  1. While public bugtesting is an absolutely atrocious idea, balancing is one of those things that should be thrown to the people. There's just not enough of a sample size in QA to know how good the aero/heat would be. Also TIL: Invisible bugs means lack of QA.
  2. Spoken like a person that has never coded in their life. Sometimes things work, sometimes they don't.
  3. I'd call the sillyness with the heating necessary.
  4. Nope, just the Devnote Tuesdays (They're posted on Reddit as well). It's where the devs and PR guys fill the community in on the happenings of KSP. Which is exactly what you are looking for. EDIT: Looks like it was a squadcast, not a devnote tuesday. So yea, they could have done a tiny bit better. Agreed
  5. No they told us that the heating system was being reworked. It was in a Devnote Tuesday. If you don't read those, you probably should. Oooooooh it's been said alright.
  6. It was more of a mini-rant than anything, not targeted specifically at you. I've just seen a lot of people say things like "Squad shouldn't change mechanics after release" and "Squad shouldn't change the mechanics after 1.0". Yours was a bit better, but I just... I don't get it. They warned us waaaaay ahead of time. Like, 3 weeks ahead of time.
  7. Pretty sure it influences how big of missions you get.
  8. I don't get the whole "Mechanics shouldn't be changed on a _" theory. It seems to be motivated more by selfishness than anything. Basically saying "They shouldn't balance it because it hurts my sensibilities." Apparently Squid should forever ride a wave of mediocrity.
  9. If electricity was abstracted as much as Radiators, there would be no batteries and every solar panel added would add battery space
  10. Note that you would still hear the sounds from your own ship, just not other ships.
  11. Yep, radiators have their entire heat pump system abstracted into the craft. They take heat from everywhere.
  12. The transonic hump was absurd before, if they did lower it I'm glad they did. FFS Spaceplanes pretty much needed 6 engines minimum to go fast.
  13. Except 1.0.4 was a bugfix for a single issue, it didn't touch the aero at all :| As for the aero in 1.0.3, it seems the ice atmosphere is back. Will have to fiddle with it some more but so far it looks like drag is almost nonexistant.
  14. Except the customers are not always right
  15. GOG could do a bit better on the distribution side (Galaxy is a buggy mess at the moment) but they're still good. Either Squid hasn't forwarded the game yet or GOG hasn't gotten their installer up yet. Either way it's just a matter of patience.
  16. It should be noted that when the U5 update comes, you should backup your KSP folder anyway. The update will be 100% save breaking.
  17. It's obviously a push-bar that they hit with their heads!
  18. I mean, you knew this was coming. If you didn't want all your work to be invalidated you could have probably took measures against it. Like not playing.
  19. Not really, KSPs memory management means it would just fill up the rest of the RAM. If we want amazing textures then we'll need a better system to load stuff onto memory
  20. IMO B is best, if only to unify the look of all the radiators.
  21. Fair enough. Anyway I'm done, everything that could be discussed from this has been.
  22. True but that wasn't really my point. If NERVAs IRL heated up that much, would a cubesat be big enough to house the cooling pipes.
