Unity went crazy, what will happen to KSP2 (and KSP1)?
Alexoff replied to marce's topic in The Lounge
What if someone starts reinstalling games a hundred times a day to spite the developers? What if the Unity creators paid him a share of that money? So much room for corruption... -
https://store.steampowered.com/sale/steam20#SaleSection_12313 KSP2 is in the top list of 2023 games! It seems this year has turned out so-so

On the other hand, changes in Unity policy are an excellent reason to announce another delay -

If they decide to change the engine then we'll end up with a game by 2033 at best... -
The real size of the KSP planets compared to Earth
Alexoff replied to ConsoleCoder's topic in KSP2 Discussion
The small size of planets is compensated by the low efficiency of kerbal's rockets. Empty tanks are too heavy; with such rockets we would not even reach orbit. -
The real size of the KSP planets compared to Earth

No, the laws of physics are the same. The planets are just incredibly dense -
Can you imagine bad progress? They could release bugpacks and fps-reducers! With delays...

Oh, these fantasies! What happened in 2021? Did the server with all the data burn down? Why not come up with something for December 2022 and say that the game is being made at an incredible pace?
-
Rather, fan fantasies are bigger, but since the fall of 2022 they have seriously decreased. Do you mean plasma effects? They were shown to us only in the editor. We haven't seen anything gameplay for a long time. Since 2019, every message about the transfer of the game was accompanied by many comments “take your time,” but it seems that the developers need 10 years, because in 6 years they have only made what we have now. P.S. - I hope no one will argue again that the development of KSP2 began in 2017? One year later than Starfield and Atomic Heart?
-
It’s just that only hardcore players play KSP2, while casual players have been playing something else for a long time. And the hardcore fans were waiting for something more than KSP1 from 2019, and especially not the 0.18 remaster...
-
I have a fairly low tolerance for bugs and I easily drop the game if something goes wrong. If everything was like yours, I wouldn’t even be aware of KSP2 now
-
I actually have the feeling that you are talking about another game. Perhaps you received KSP2 from the future?
-
This is absolutely impossible! The most unoptimized version 1.0.5 showed “yellow” FPS only after 200 parts. Kraken attacks disappeared somewhere around 0.18. I started a new career in 1.0.0 without any problems and spammed the entire system with crafts, my 970 did not feel overvolted at all. And then I started my career in “New Horizons” and also did not encounter any serious bugs.
-
I thought you were talking about some very early versions of KSP1! It seems your memory is failing you. In KSP 1.0 there was excellent performance on the built-in video card, there were practically no krakens and game-breaking bugs were quite rare. It seems that the aerodynamics in KSP2 were done in such a way that even a brick will fly like a falcon if you attach an engine to it
-
A few small bugfixes, replacing the Kraken with Azathoth and instead of degrading the orbit there will be an increase on the contrary!
-
They'll probably add those grid fins

https://twitter.com/KerbalSpaceP/status/1690131686565318663 Interestingly, three videos were announced within weeks on August 12th. One video came out. Where were the others lost? Or "weeks" maybe 10-15 weeks?

KSP2 AMA Series - Chris "Nertea" Adderley - Answers/Transcript
Alexoff replied to Dakota's topic in KSP2 Discussion
Wow, for the first time my questions were noticed and answered! -
It is always possible to complete the game on a weak computer. On YouTube or Twitch.
-
I don't understand, did I start this thread? Is this some kind of joke? Or am I having memory lapses?
-
It seems that Mr. "buy another one skyrim" took away a large part of the already small audience of KSP2 ...
-
And in my opinion it's about the same. It is clear that none of us is obliged to report all the bugs found, we did not sign any contracts, we are not paid, but the meaning is about the same.
-
I would put in a ban through the UN, but unfortunately they are more likely to ban those who are against early access. Gabe doesn't really care what games and where to sell them. Although it was under this sauce that we were offered early access to KSP2 - to help in testing with the game, and not to help the studio return part of the costs that T2 spent
-
I think early access from wealthy publishers should be banned. Indie studios can't afford to spend years developing games without a profit, and for them early access is often the only way out. And publishers like T2 are obviously abusing early access.

Is the base foundation there yet to add the Science Milestone?
Alexoff replied to LoSBoL's topic in KSP2 Discussion
Man, I don't know anything you just said to me, but you reached out, you touch it by the heart...
