  1. Woah, that’s pretty unexpected, You just made my day It’s fairly simple, I loved making the videos, but as I moved towards higher education I found it harder and harder to find the time. And I didn’t achieve what I wanted to academically, which really affected me for a while. But the reason I mention that is, a couple of years later I was looking around colleges and unis trying to figure out how I might get into Computer Animation (so I could make more badass videos about space) but I was pretty skeptical about getting into any because all I had was some mediocre design work. I chucked some of my YouTube videos in there too, y’know to pad things out a bit. But one of the interviewers really took a shine to them, and they turned out somehow being far more important than any of my school work. I told them about why I made the videos, and how space flight inspired me to tell stories. And in short, I’m finishing a foundation year now, hoping to study C.A. this September. And, funnily enough that’s why I’m here asking about Voskhod. Another testament to how influential KSP has been in some people’s lives. Anyway, it means a lot to me that you enjoyed my channel, I’m still kinda proud of it. I’ve always thought that if I make anything I’m particularly pleased with in the next few years, it’ll probably turn up there.
  2. Wait!? It was snowing at Baikonur Cosmodrome? Ah balls, that changes everything. Thanks though, that reference is exactly what I needed! It's definitely Voskhod 2, it has the bulge for the airlock.
  3. Heya, I'm currently doing a small project on the history of spaceflight, and I need some photos/drawings showing the Voskhod II launcher. But so far I've found it difficult because I've seen several different Voskhod colour schemes listed as Voskhod 2. Like this one https://tinyurl.com/ybvdnejk or this one https://tinyurl.com/yapdwttp, or this one https://tinyurl.com/yc6n9nj7. I'm thinking it was all grey/unpainted, but I can't be sure. It doesn't help that the Voskhod 2 mod for KSP has the paint scheme of Orange, White and Green either, but I can't rely on that to be historically accurate. Anyone happen to have a good source/personal knowledge on the paint scheme for Voskhod 2? Maybe someone has even made a model of it at some point or something. Anyway, thanks!
  4. Hello, Looks like there has been a bombardment of error reports recently, so sorry to join the fuss. But I've been experiencing a frustrating memory issue (I think) that completely prevents me from playing the game. I've played KSP for a long time, and never had a problem like this. The last version, KSP .9 worked absolutely fine, with the graphics on high and even with visual enhancement mods installed. After downloading KSP 1.0, it seemed to be running fine, no obvious frame-rate drops or lengthy loading times. But within 2-3 minutes of loading the game up, it crashed after I loaded a spaceplane onto the runway. I tried loading the game several more times, and it would crash at completely random points all within the first few minutes of play. Even on the main menu. Like I said, the game would be running fine beforehand, and sometimes it would even clearly continue to run behind the "oops" error message. The problem seems to get worse the more times I re-start the game. It gets to the point where it'll only load one texture on start-up before crashing. Re-booting helps a little. Honestly, I'm not that knowledgeable when it comes to software. I tried lowering all my graphics settings. Exactly the same result. I've tried limiting the program to 1 CPU, updating my graphics drivers, enabling extended RAM support, re-installing the game, re-booting my PC, stopping other programs running, running as admin etc. But still no luck. Here's one of the crash logs I got. Hopefully it's not too embarrassingly obvious. Unity Player [version: Unity 4.6.4f1_99f88340878d] mono.dll caused an Access Violation (0xc0000005) in module mono.dll at 0023:1010d1bb. Error occurred at 2015-04-27_205112. EDIT: Well, strangely enough I just loaded the game and it worked fine. How peculiar. I made a point of not stressing the graphics too much soon after I started it, I don't know if that's why it worked this time. Anyways, I'll see if the issue persists.
  5. A while back I made a thread in which I posted a couple of episodes of my youtube series, but I have since lost that thread and it is rather outdated. So here is a new one for any who are interested. Basically, I have always been a fan of Youtube series that follow a set narrative, ever since I watched (love it or hate it) The YogsCast's original SoI. So I thought, why not try this with KSP? And Jeremy Kerman's Unintentional Adventures is the kind of experimental result of that. My video creation skills are not quite up there with some of the big youtubers, but I think I have done enough to get the story across. Here are the three episodes that I have produced so far (The first two have been around for a while, the third is new.) The quality of the videos improves as they progress, as a started out with almost no experience in creating cinematics. If I produce any more episodes, I guess I'll post them here. Hope you enjoy, feedback is always appreciated.

    missions

I think that the developers have previously stated that there will be no "set" missions, such as the kind you would find in FSX or other simulators, as they want you to be able to play as freely as possible. The contract system will generate a goal and reward, which you can achieve by any means you see fit. There will be a massive possible selection of randomly generated contracts, so you don't have to worry about the game ending when you complete all of the missions.
  7. I think that if/when we get weather, it will introduce a whole new level of creepy to some celestial bodies. Imagine looking out of your spacecraft window on Eve at night, and seeing a gigantic swirling mass of purple gas approaching ominously over the horizon, with distant thunderclaps and lighting illuminating the storm periodically. Perhaps being hit by a storm on eve, with its metallic rain and corrosive fumes could be fatal for Kerbals left out in the open, or could even destroy crafts without sufficient protection. An expedition of Kerbals exploring the area around their base, who's rover gets compromised by rough terrain could be in real danger unless a rescue team gets to them in time... Sorry, Im rambling on again . But in short, yeah, storms are terrifying.
  8. Oh yes, I did watch Scott's re-usable series (And was thoroughly disappointed when it ended), but I had completely forgotten about that re-usable lifter! With the help of a few mods, I guess it is possible then.
  9. After playing way too much Space Engineers recently, I was wondering if anyone has any persistent/re-usable vessels floating around their save file? You know, as in large interplanetary ships that continue to carry crew from planet to planet, never to be disposed of, but rather re-fuelling at orbital stations. How long have they survived for? Have you lost any vessels? Here is my only modular interplanetary ship; R.S. Tundra. It was destroyed after only one mission to Duna. Not having enough fuel to return into orbit around kerbin, I had to slam it straight into Kerbin’s atmosphere from interplanetary space in order to save the crew. So, not that successful considering it was meant to be re-usable. But perhaps more interestingly, does anyone have any persistent shuttles and/or smaller ships? Something like NASA’s shuttle program is what I am getting at here. The way that the game deals with landed crafts sort of limits our ability to build re-usable orbiters that we could potentially become so attached to in a similar way to the five famous orbiters; Columbia, Challenger, Discovery, Atlantis and Endeavour. Has anyone developed a way of getting round this particular mechanic? And what’s more, does anyone have any thoughts on perhaps introducing a system allowing for persistent orbiters. A system like this would allow a player to name a specific vessel, and when recovered the whole vessel would become an attachable object in the VAB/SPH, keeping any wear/damage it sustained in flight. This damage could then be repaired by swapping old parts for new ones. When economics are introduced, a player would not have to pay for re-used vessels in the VAB, only the fuel they use and any new parts. Would you benefit from having named ships that could be used time and time again? Your examples of crafts, stories about them and thoughts/opinions on persistent crafts as a game-play mechanic would be appreciated! Thanks
  10. Famous last words (Frequency of times said) 2%: *Other* 3%: "Did I check the orientation of that decoupler? Pfft, I'm sure it'll be fine." 5%: "Quicksaving here wont screw me over will it? Nah, I'll Quicksave here, just to be safe" 10%: "Ok, I think the staging is fixed this time" ... 80%: "Lift off!"
  11. Their web browsers have all dropped dead like flies I guess...
  12. Just saying, when 0.23 does arrive, there is no need to post "ITS OUT ARG~@?gfsdF!!!" as you can guarantee that that same message will have already been posted 100+ times. Just trying to help prevent the inevitable mass spamming of the thread.
  13. After over one minute of page loading Well, this can't be a good sign...
  14. AHHHH! So many 502's. I feel like it's a marathon and you guys are whizzing off into the distance whilst I'm left in your dust.
  15. Sooo, what do people think are the chances of Squad ever giving release dates again?
