  1. This is a good thing. The limiting factor of all Hydrogen rockets is the range. I get range anxiety with my centaurs, my S-IVBs and my Ares V-wait.
  2. that would be my question, too: how would you get more hydrogen? and how do you keep it from going away?
  3. excrements. I did not think about it that way. That, combined with the facts that half the crew are practically in almost total danger for the majority of the voyage, my Medium-with-solids cannot loft a Blok V to the Mun on its own, I practically scraped by, and the first attempt did not use the cargo lander, makes this pretty impossible. I mostly just did it because I could not for the life of me get Altair/Pegasus and Apollo in the same space without 90% of the Pegasus boiling off (I sensibly went with storable propellants for my Altair/Artemis thing) So I just sent the craft to the Mun without the ship and sent up an Apollo as soon as I could get one that could complete the trip. It seems the way you did in your time-line is the best way. (I also think I need to find a better Altair/Artemis)
  4. are you going to shift all text to the new font engine? the small text on Linux is barely readable.
  5. Hello. I would like to report a bug. I have a kerbal floating by jetpack. However, pressing W does not make me turn to face the correct orientation - it seems to lock, and slowly precess around some axis until it is painful to move the kerbal back into the craft, no matter if they are carrying things or not (in build mode, all controls lock up.). are there any ways to correct this, and is this caused by KIS?
  6. I had an idea for a mission - Artemis can stay on the surface for weeks on end, right? so why not send up the lander up Crewed, land it directly, and send the Apollo up later?I have tried this in a 2.5x scaled world. With the exception of the Saturn MB for the Apollo being underpowered, meaning I have to use my Saturn 4 for it, the mission succeeded.
  7. well, you could just make up an engine - take what the J-2 and F-1 look like and combine them into what you think the HG-3 would look like. It could look a bit like the RS-68 or the SSME, too.
  8. can anybody post their ETS historical-event-based exploits in this thread?
  9. I don't have a problem, I'm using an older skylab. but the number is so mind-bogglingly huge that I'm hung up on it. I know it was an input error, but maybe keep it - just don't have it store as many by default.
  10. Does anyone know of any stockalike Altair mods? I think ALCOR was one, but with my computer being as potato-like as it is, I'd rather have a HabTech than a CXAerospace, if you catch my drift (I don't want something that takes up too many resources)
  11. Time to pay my screenshot tax. I did a direct-ascent Leo to test out my orbital calculation program. It works really well.
  12. Erm, what did the Saturn II have in the engines department? were they SSME-like? and if so, are they going to be in the mod?
  13. HydroDelta II takes the ideas of HydroDelta and makes them bigger. A new half-centaur stage, new CryoThor core, new 'Volcano' engine, and 9 new GEM solids around the base. payload capacity becomes about 3 tons of third stage and payload to orbit.
  14. Found a use for the LR87-LH2: the HydroDelta. It has successfully propelled a 289 kg payload to the Mun in a 2.5x scaled solar system. I think I an get 750 kg of third stage and payload to orbit. Also, the Extending RL-10 (Thanks for putting it back, BTW) does not actually list in the 'engines' tab. My next stop is to put a half-length Inon on the top, and add Sapphire boosters instead of Discouris.
