  1. Squad stated several times over the past few years that multiplayer was either not possible, not practical, not a priority, or not going to be added until after 1.0 if at all. Your join date says March 2012, I would have expected you to have heard this at least once.
  2. You must have not watched KerbalKon. Harvester confirmed that resources mining will not happen and that multiplayer will happen after career mode.
  3. I think the main problem is that most of the KSP community refuses to accept any form of criticism (this is slowly starting to change). Anything that goes against a feature or decision is written off as entitlement, whining, or complaining. The argument "it's an alpha so stop complaining about problems" is often brought up. People love the devs to the point where it is unbelievable that they can ever do wrong. This is not how game development should work, the whole reason Minecraft ended up the way it is is because the developers saw huge amounts of praise at everything they did, good or bad.
  4. Yeah sorry, I'm staying on 5-3 as well. The memory issues, floating cities, and the fact that the 8k cloud pack doesn't work with it is what is keeping me away from 6-2. Maybe your fix will help.
  5. The only problems I have with it are the low resolution textures and the fact that on certain spots radially-attached objects switch to a slightly off angle, making it hard to place parachutes.
  6. Is there an 8K texture pack out there that uses stock-like textures? I don't really like the one that uses the textures from real-life planets.

  11. I don't think that making a new science module to get more data counts as a "significant overhaul". If you have watched any 0.23 videos you would see that it is more or less the same old grind.
  12. I'm sorry that Squad felt the need to lead on the community for a year about resources and then crush their dreams. And if you feel that resources are too grindy then you have never played career mode.

  14. Except that your example doesn't fit with what this thread is about. Squad dumped resources to take on multiplayer, therefore it is completely logical to make a poll with resources and multiplayer as the only two answers. Other options would not make any sense in the situation that is happening with Squad's decision. "Squad is developing multiplayer instead of resources, how do you feel about that?" "I want life support!"
  15. I don't see how a Google poll is relevant at all. People are likely using Google to search for mods. There are several different life support mods but the only resource mod is just called Kethane, so why would people search "ksp resources"?   16. Resources were promised, and they were much more than just "considered". Also, we shouldn't need to kiss the devs' feet to make them add a feature. Do investors need to beg and suck up to a corporation to get the business decisions they want? I did not pay for the current state of KSP, I invested with the knowledge that the devs would do what is best for the game.

They tried to do this with research but failed, there's nothing interesting about right clicking. If resources were added there would be a huge amount of things to do. Make satellites to scan for resources in advance, make landers to drill for the resources, send up tanks to hold those resources, add some converters to make them useful, and then turn the whole thing into a spaceport for building, launching, and refueling rockets. Or you could just scrap all that so that a could drive a rover beside of another person's rover, because that sounds like a blast.

  19. His point is that mods shouldn't be the main reason to play the game. Every update since 0.18 has been "backend work" for career mode, and then they pick a few mods and make them stock so that people won't get bored with a featureless update.
  20. Which doesn't make any sense because career mode was implemented and yet it isn't fun. Many people on the forums agree that career mode is only fun with mods and there was even a member of the media group who released a video saying that he was cancelling his career mode video series and talked about why he didn't find career mode fun.
  21. Disappointment aside I think Squad should at the very least release the parts that were created for resources to the modders for them to use.   22. I'm very disappointed in Squad. Once again they have alienated their original playerbase for the newer, more casual audience. To have a major feature like resources temporarily replaced by an uninteresting start of a career mode was one thing, but completely cancelling it is just wrong, especially after there has already been a good amount of work put into it. I am sure that resource mining would add more gameplay and more of a fun experience than Squad could ever hope to achieve with their career mode, and the decision to cancel this feature shows that they are fine with shallow gameplay. I've been playing this game for nearly two years now and although the original vision did not include resources I feel as if they have broken a promise.

  24. Does this mod fix the issue with Universe Replacer where all the textures were constantly being loaded? I've been using a fixed version of it.
