  1. Is there a Russian Subforum for Suicidal Insanity's mods? If not, then.... ДОБРО ПОЖАЛОВАТЬ! I would rather the poster's original intent be expressed in their language than a botched translation by a web page.
  2. Turboprops in MK2 and MK3 require the following change to their part file to properly burn fuel. Right now, they are burning fuel at one tenth their rate. PROPELLANT { name = IntakeAir ignoreForIsp = True ratio = 15 }
  3. Hey SI! I love your mods and thanks to your work, almost all my craft are space planes as a first stage. I am fascinated by nuclear power plants and I have used your nuke jets for some very fun craft. I am also fascinated by the real thing and the history of attempts made by the USA and the USSR. I wanted to share with you some of the images I have found from these craft beucase I think one of these would be a PERFECT inline nuclear module for your MK3 kit and help us explore and commemorate an interesting piece of history. "Six turnin' and four burnin', four moar radiaten'" B-36 X-6 nuclear propulsion demonstration platform! http://www.aviation-history.com/articles/nuke-american.htm
  4. I could do it with an action group. It's as simple as ratcheting down the thrust limiter as the balance of weight due to fuel burn off is shifted. Here's an example of the craft I am imagining. I use cross feed hoses to siphon fuel from the boosters to the main engines, and this causes an imbalance. Because the boosters become empty, the center of thrust stays put but the center of mass rises along the Z Axis of the plane. Just ratcheting the thrust limiter back and forth easily balances the craft.
  5. Suggesting "Lift" is based on two things: 1. It's a game mechanic. 2. It's the game mechanic that Squad is using, look at the part in KSP, you'll see it has a lift rating. I think, for the purposes of simulating the affect drag has on attitude, this value needs to be higher. I will test lower trajectories. I have tested them, before, but I will post evidence.
  6. I still think some of these basic things should be in Vanilla.
  7. WANT!!!! How do I get those? I love the shorty! I want to put that on EVERYTHING!
  8. I know the MK2 space plane is supposed to look like the SR71, but I use a lot of the parts for drones. Right now, I use the MK2/1.25m adapter fueltank...but that's a fuel-tank and is heavy, even if I unload the fuel. Also, there is no good tail piece, what-so-ever. Seems like a no brainer. Here's one such design that would benefit highly since the center section wouldn't need to be used for fuel, at all. It could be light weight components, but since I must use fuel tanks for tails, or at least as adapters, I'm going to fill them with fuel.
  9. Hey all, Sorry about the image size, I don't know how to resize the image in this forum software. This perfectly balanced potato of an entry vehicle should, with air-brakes extended, nose down to a proper orientation without guidance, kinda like a shuttlecock. The design of this vehicle is otherwise completely unsound, I am just demonstrating that air brakes will not behave in an intuitive way. If air breaks were given a larger lift value, when extended, this would be fixed. That's all.
  10. Hey all, I would like to request a Group Action for adjusting thrust limits on the fly. With space planes, I have found that, if I use liquid boosters, the symmetry of thrust is hard to maintain after leaving the atmosphere. I can adjust thrust limits by hand, to fix this, but clicking and dragging sliders on paired liquid fuel boosters, on the fly, is painful as best. Yes, I am sure that this could be fix by making my boosters symmetrical...above and below the wing...like we would NEVER do on earth. But this feature seems like such a no brainer and what aircraft doesn't have easy to use throttle controls for adjusting each engine?
  11. Hey all, I am no longer seeing mission target orbits. I am trying to match a sun orbit and I cannot see the orbit I am supposed to achieve. I have textual descriptions of the orbit, but heck if I know how to match certain aspects of the orbit such as argument of Periphrasis. Did I toggle these off? I searched the key bindings and I don't see a key to turn them back on. I have Kerbal Engineer mod and Way point mod, and that's it.
