I agree on the RCS mod part, but you must be careful: let's say you have 2 tanks, one full of lf and other lf+ox and the center of mass somewhere between them. The rcs aid may show your CoM at the same spot when empty, but because you aren't using that oxidizer, it will actually shift back. And I really wanna try the first mod you mentioned, thank you!

Yeah, you are right, there's oxidizer. But it will still move back, and the suggestion was to put CoL slightly behind CoM.

You see, it is not going to work. Look at where the fuel is. When drained, CoM will go back to engine. And CoL will be in front of CoM. So it will fly, just not far. Switching places between materials bay and tank would solve this.

Slingshots are Fun is the newest episode in my Let's Play KSP series, but it's still unlisted, so for now your eyes only. I'm making a slingshot off the Mun to change trajectory to reenter kerbin along equator, but that slingshot isn't efficient at all, because I didn't care about fuel. But the point you have to understand is slingshot doesn't give you new energy, but it does change your vector. So you can create a comfortable situation to make a necessary burn, when without slingshot you'd have to create such situation with your engines, wasting fuel. In general, the slingshot better be planned before entering Duna SoI. Play with maneuver editor until you get an encounter with Ike, then adjust your encounter so your escape trajectory would create an intercept of your target planet. Your phase around the Kerbol in respect to target will matter how efficient your approach will be, but it'll be up to you to decide efficiency againt time. Even in bad current situation you can slingshot burn to a trajectory, that will intercept target not on this, but next orbit around Kerbol. It's not for rookies, but I assume you aren't one. Good luck and have fun. Setting up those trajectories takes time, so if you don't enjoy it, it's gonna be a chore.

That is a beautiful ship! Take a look at my Duna/Ike mission I've just launched. It passed Mun trials in previous episodes of my career. My advice for the future: assemble ship in the assembly building with landers, so you can judge CoM. Then launch separately.
