  1. Let me address the elephant in the room. ROCKETS CAN'T WORK IN SPACE GUYSSSSSSS!!!!11111!!!!!!11!!!!11!!!!!!111111!!!
  2. To add onto mine, if I were the last person on earth, I would go to my university's library. There, I would spend some of my life among the infinite knowledge of long gone souls that disappeared for no apparent reason. Eventually I would go full Gurren-Lagann and build a massive robot.
  3. I just finished The Martian by Andy Weir. Still looking for a book very similar to that. Suggestions?
  4. What if only the people in your school, staff, students, and visitors, existed. first.... learning how to actually survive. then.... EXTREME PROCREATION.
  5. You may want to get a better camcorder if you're gonna take screenshots like that. Hotkey is f1. oh... the ship? Yeah!, I really do like the design. but holy hell you could have reduced the part count on those wings!
  6. Okay, I've gotta say the capslocked title sort of discouraged me from clicking on this thread, but I really don't regret it! This is a really nice A-10 replica, and all It really needs is a little BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRT BRRRRRT.
  7. Hey, kerbonauts! Alright, so I've been experimenting with hydrofoils lately, and I want to know, what have you guys been doing with them? I'd presume that the ability to go over 200 m/s while carrying massive payloads would help a lot of you needed to transport something to the polar regions. Say.. a rover? or an entire base? What I did with hydrofoils is I first built an extremely tiny hydrofoil capable of 70 m/s powered by one Juno engine. Seats one kerbal with a command chair. I used prior knowledge to build a super large floating lab, which is still in the works. Currently powered by four Wheesley turbofans. Then, for the finisher, I built a medium hydrofoil built for speed and range. It's foil assembly was located completely under the hull and only used three pylons instead of four. It was capable of 288 m/s before jiggling itself to bits. If you're wondering why exactly I didn't bother to include the blueprints, it's because I really don't feel like it. As fellow forumdwellers get to know me, they find out that when I don't feel like doing something, I do not feel like it. Anyways, what did you guys do with hydrofoils? Merry christmaquanzukah, PhylumCnidaria
  8. I give this an A plus. it's gr8 m8 I rate 8/8. Seaplanes are all the rage these days, aren't they?
  9. THESE ARE SO BEAUTIFUL! Tomorrow is the day that I'll start working on a boat that isn't a hydrofoil plane submarine hybrid.
  10. On another thread we're doing R&D at the moment about extendable parts like antennas and solar panels. It turns out that when you extend a gigantor or anything else, the mass stays the same, but the volume changes. In effect the solar array or whatever it is gets a lot less dense. We're experimenting with s00bmarines right now, but it could be extended to boats and hydroplanes.
  11. I never thought that the deployable parts would do this! You must have an R&D team or something. Anyways... could we do something like a bunch of 1x6 solar panels in a double mk2 cargo bay? That may extend the buoyancy quite a bit in a small package. What about service bays?
  12. Oh god you're right... it is a year old.. Whatever. I'll stop talking.
  13. I'm pretty sure that that's because he wants to trigger engines at different times without using action groups for some reason...
  14. na·vel [ˈnāvəl] NOUN a rounded, knotty depression in the center of a person's belly caused by the detachment of the umbilical cord after birth; the umbilicus.
  15. I am very proficient in the ways of stupid. I just don't have anything to justify that.
  16. an SSTO with Junos? JUNOS?! C'mon, Rune, you HAVE to release it! I want to absorb your infinite SSTO knowledge!
  17. I dare somebody to make a flying boat specifically for this challenge. And do some sightseeing on the way 'round the globe! That's what I'm doing!
  18. I'm going to have to build a new sub... To go anywhere far, I have to start eating into my ballast with onboard refineries.
  19. I have a name that fits, Drag Queen! cause yunno... drag.
  20. it is everywhere, but nowhere, it is existing, but it does not exist. in the infinitesimal darkness we call the Kraken.
  21. good luck with that project I guess! i'm scrapping the SSTO design in favor of a larger airframe with a bigger margin of error.
