  1. First, I soft-landed a probe on Eve. Then I landed a rover on Duna. Finally, I landed (nearly killed) 3 Kerbals on Duna.
  2. LOL...Yeah, it didn't sound right. I'm just going to slowly back out of the room now
  3. That was entirely tongue-in-cheek. I would guess that 90% or more of spaceflight is done without human hands on the stick. I use MechJeb. My enjoyment in KSP is designing craft and planning missions. There are times when things go slightly south and I need to intervene manually. I like to feel that the same is true with NASA.
  4. I bet they use MechJeb too....cheaters!
  5. My first success was nearly a catastrophe. I made a beautiful descent, but made the mistake of coming down on a slope far too steep to support my lander. When my first two legs touched, the lander started to roll down the slope - I panicked and thrust my engines to abort. In that very brief moment I realized I had come too far to just give up, so I cut my engines and watched the entire lander do a sideways somersault. By the grace of the Kerbal Gods, I applied the perfect amount of counter RSC thrust to stop the roll and land gently at the bottom of the slope. No damage was done to the lander. However, Bill's suit was ruined.
  6. I have an LG 29" 21x9 monitor. I'm just greedy and would love to have more real estate to drop my displays. I would think that it would get kind of claustrophobic if I didn't have the ultra-wide display.
  7. Does anyone here know if KSP 1.1 will be multi-monitor friendly? It would be really nice
  8. I would consider The University of Maryland College Park. My son is a few years younger than you and he wants to major in Engineering (although he is not certain what field as of yet). Last year we drove him down there to see the campus and watch a basketball game. He loved the experience. I have to say that if you are afraid of going to a large school then it isn't going to be the place for you. However, if you are going for an engineering degree, College Park is right in the middle of the defense contractor industry. It is a great thing to graduate with a pedigree, but it is even more important to graduate with connections. Good luck in making your choice.
  9. "Why should I care? It's not MY environment." Also, my ex dragged me and the kids to church one Sunday. The unnamed pastor from the unnamed denomination said, "Not only are you wrong if you believe in Darwin, you are just flat out stupid!" Ughhhh......
  10. I have a GTX780. I don't believe that I had the most up to date driver before trying the update. After reverting back to 8.1 (which was actually extremely easy and fast) I updated my Nvidia driver to 353.62 - that was the Nvidia recommendation for the Windows 10 update. I then re-installed Windows 10. It finally accepted my driver and did not shut down my card, however I lost my second monitor. I then tried running KSP and it crashed on loading. Then Windows crashed on a restart. Then it went right back to the same old problem of not accepting my driver which, in turn, shuts down my graphics card. Ughhh... I reverted back to 8.1 again. I'm staying here until I know that Nvidia has a more stable configuration. I understand that it is hit or miss for Nvidia users. You are lucky that you haven't had any problems. If I had more resources, I'd run right out and get a new card. I have to admit that I am rather disappointed with Nvidia for screwing the pooch on the Windows 10 update. It's not like we haven't seen this coming for more than a year. - - - Updated - - - We all slink back to our caves. Defeated today, but ready to fight again tomorrow. - - - Updated - - - Just one monitor? It seems the bulk of the issues are happening to folks like me with multiple monitors.
  11. Near Disaster! I just installed and it shut down my Nvidia card. It doesn't recognize the driver as being valid. I had read about Nvidia problems with this update, but I had assumed that they had all been sorted out by now. Serves me right. Anyhow, GEForce Experience would just download its Windows 10 driver and restart my computer. After the restart, my card was still shut down. I tried it three different times with no luck. I just reverted back to Windows 8.1 with no further issues. I'm going to wait a few weeks to see if Nvidia can get this sorted out. So, if you are running an Nvidia card, just beware.
  12. Honestly, I never thought of that. I was always afraid to dig into the files. I just set the rescaleFactor value from 1 to 3. It definitely made the frame larger, but I am having the exact same resizing issues.
  13. First, I want to apologize because I can't seem to upload images to imgur today, so I can't show you what is happening. I really want to use this mod to make a reusable MKS lander. The Arched Cargo Frame V2 would work perfectly for me. I first tried it and tweakscaled it out to 7.5 meters. While testing the frame on the launchpad it would resize itself back to the original size if I relaunched. It would do the same thing if I left to the space center and then returned to the flight. I tried 5 meters and the same thing. When it would resize itself it would leave all of the components I had attached hanging in mid-air as if the size hadn't changed. I tried attaching a cargo adapter on one end and tweaking it, just to see what would happen. On a relaunch or visit to the spacecenter the frame would still resize, but the adapter would remain tweaked out to 5 or 7.5 meters. I'm not sure if this issue has been addressed before. I didn't see any mention of it. I hope it can be fixed because your mod is definitely the answer to my needs. Again, sorry for no images and thanks for the great work you already put into this thing.
  14. Hey folks! I've been a lurker for quite some time, but I've been too shy to post until now. I picked up KSP just after the official release and I have never looked back. At first it was a nice explosion simulator, then I managed to get into suborbital flight. I remember when I stood up in my man cave and cheered out loud when I finally achieved orbit! I was such a baby back then Little did I know that that was nothing compared to when Jeb took his first steps on the Mun and safely returned home. When I bought this game I had a fear that it wasn't going to be enough for me. Just one solar system with a few planets - I'm going to get bored of this in a heartbeat. Uhhhh....I'm glad I was way wrong on that. In all this time I have been totally captivated and have only left the Kerbin SOI a few times. I have never planted a flag on Eve or Duna, but I have plopped probes down on each. What finally prompted me to post was ASET Mk1-2 IVA pod replacement. Wow! It's almost as if that just created a separate game out of this masterpiece. I just flew my first two flights entirely IVA. It's an amazing experience. The first flight was a suborbital test and then I put myself in a 100km orbit - just to see if I could manage to navigate while in IVA. Everytime I start to think I am getting this whole thing figured out, somebody pulls the rug out from under me and changes everything. I want to thank all of you posters out there for the great info on these boards. I also want to thank Scott Manley for his vids. Without the two, I never would have figured out how to get off the ground. I also want to thank all the modders out there for the great job you guys do and all the fun you provide guys like me.
