Happy Holidays everyone!!!

Man, I love living where fireworks are legal... lol... This is the house behind us.

OK, I need to say something. Until today I have had absolutely no problem helping anyone with a question about the game, including what little I can concerning issues with 1.4.2 and the DLC.
But from here on I am NOT, repeat NOT going to chime in or help on any threads, not if they're just going to turn into a squad-bashing nightmare!
I've had it, and I will put up with no more. If someone wants my help, then pm me... I'm done trying to help on here, only to have my comments twisted around into some thinly veiled insults about @SQUAD.
Don't try me, you'll be preachin' to the wrong person, and I'll just hit the "Ignore" button, and forget you exist.

Still have this cold, and it's making me grumpy and miserable... might be better if I logged off for a little while.

Yup, Gus is a fighter. He's killed at least 8 interloping cats and befriended or at least tolerated 4 others. That I know of. He conducts most of his inter-cat business out of my sight so I'm sure the totals in both columns are greater. After all, he's been at it for 9 years now, throughout which time he's been out there surviving amongst all the bobcats, panthers, foxes, coyotes, and wild hogs that live in my back yard. He's got a few notches in his ears and I've had to take him to the vet twice for claws broken off in his face, but such is the life of an outdoor alpha male cat, even when neutered.
I drink to Greyghost's shade. May he (she?) be in Cat Valhalla!

WOOHOO... the power is back on!!!
-
Day 4... I think... Without power.
Not sure which is worse, that I've lost track how long it's been, or that I'm actually getting used to this...
-
Awesome, my brother and his other half just brought us a generator! We have (slightly limited) power! Most important, the fridge is back on!!!
ETA on the real power being restored is Friday midnight
-
Just got up, power still off... This sucks
-
Irma's eye is over us now... WOW! Wind Gusts are impressive...
No real damage here so far, and it's still to dark outside to see clearly, but it looks like a palm tree across the street snapped in half.

Fingers crossed. If that doesn't work, apply to your local EOC for a portable generator so at least you can keep your beer cold---er, I mean, keep your freezer of meat from spoiling Hurricanes bring in unreal humidity that lasts for weeks so while it might be nice and cool now, it';ll be sweltering in a few days. With no AC, that gets really old really fast. Hence the need for cold beer.,

I just received a somewhat troubling e-mail.... Without discussing the actual contents, or who it was from, let me be perfectly clear to everyone about one thing.
If anyone thinks for one second they're going to try and get me to bad mouth @SQUAD, for whatever reason, they are sadly, sadly mistaken!!!

@Lo Var Lachland: Yeah, but I have been thinking about this for a while. I would have done it a while back ago, but I am afraid that no one would believe I'd be impartial. In reality, I'm extremely self-critical and probably would not rank my own work within the thread - simply because I do not like the idea of being a self-promoter.
@Just Jim: that would be the intent - and why I have the two categories that may seem out of place.

I was just checking out your artwork... your characters are amazingly lifelike, and adorable! Do you do this professionally?
-
Thank you.
I don't draw professionally at all. I wrote an article about how I learned to draw a few years ago: http://kokorolibrary.net/nikki/?story=32
The only money I make is from selling my cards on etsy: http://kokorocards.etsy.com/

Someone might be checking Emiko Station out later, so I'm switching my avatar back over to my hippie pic. This way she'll know it's really me.

Just cleaned out a whole bunch of old messages... literally hundreds of old ones.
But I may have deleted a few I shouldn't have. opps. -
OMG!!!
Emiko Station is now, by definiton, a novel!!!
This afternoon I did something I should have a long time ago, back all the text into a Word document, just in case something bad happens to the forum. I did, both by chapter and one huge Emiko Complete.
So I looked it up, and The Nebula Awards catagories for writing are as follows:
Short Story: under 7.500 words
Novelette: 7,500 - 17,500
Novella: 17,500 - 40,000
Novel: over 40,000 wordsAccording to the word counter, Emiko Station has 76,034 words total!
Emiko Station is officially a book!!!
-
I just finished re-writing all 60 Emiko Station chapters!
I cleaned up and polished the format, and made everything more consistent, and hopefully easier to read. But I didn't change the story itself, so while I invite y'all to go back and see if you like how it looks, there is no "required reading" so to speak. I swapped out a word here and there, but the plots remain the same. I also spotted and corrected an embarrassing amount of mistakes, but I probably still missed some…Oh, I also added a new "Return to Index" link at the end of each chapter, to make navigating a little easier.

I just noticed something weird. How come my profile doesn't show any info on the people I'm following? It did once... I think.... did this change with the last forum update?
Or did I change something I wasn't supposed to?
