  1. Hmmm... Know I'm curious to see how the FASA LM and CSM IVA's would line up. (And if we can cram 5 kerbals into the CSM IVA.)
  2. I've been playing with the Launch Towers in 1.2 and have noticed that the only flaw seems to be with the Umbilical Launch Tower. It won't do any fuel refueling (which is not a problem, really) but the big problem is the Umbilical's staging icon will suddenly drop out of the Staging list and it will not activate. The umbilical doesn't hold onto the rocket but its' perplexing, none the less.
  3. That looks amazing! The only way I'm going to be able to get the CSM windows to match up is to just make a new IVA for it. So... there's something to do tomorrow. (I'm sure my wife won't mind...) Is there any way to tweak the Block III SM to have the CoM for the how CM/SM stack to pull down into the SM can? It's currently difficult to perform a TD&E unless you have the RCS thrusters siting right on the edge between the Decoupler and the CM.
  4. Happy to help. I'm actually going to spend tomorrow beating on the poor K-P0110 IVA to get it more Apollo-esqe. First thing is getting rid of that dang shelf and putting storage drawers and such from the Hitchhiker to give it a more cramped look.
  5. @CobaltWolf Man!!! Talk about crowded! But I have to say, this mod keeps getting better and better.
  6. Just a very small but heavier would be my suggestion. (ETS Block III+ moved a lot of the ELCSS to the mission modules.) Farther back on the tech tree and more expensive would be good balancers also. Really, as others have said, the Block III+/MM won't make as big an impact without TAC-LS, USI-LS, or Kerbalism. But with them, it those parts become amazing.
  7. Heh, that sounds just like the actual Apollo program. What a sprint it was. And a magnificent sprint it was. My suggestion is rest. And then either Skylab or ETS Apollo. You already have the models for ETS done in Maya and would only have to be textured at a leisurely pace. For Skylab, you'd need a new texture for the S-IVB and the fiddly bits of solar panels, radiator, shield, ATM, etc. But I see those as the next best next steps. (Unless Nixon nixes those ideas and your forced to build the shuttle. )
  8. It seems the paint was used as a thermal control for the CSM due to the long time spent in space. This would really especially appropriate for a ETS CSM because of their long duration intent. [Edit] Looks like @CobaltWolf beat me to it.
  9. I noticed that last night was well. I'm curious if setting the LEM decoupler to 0 force ejection would keep it from banging around when the CSM decouples.
  10. @KSK This continues to be an incredible story to read. It really does stand up as one of the best science fiction novels I've read in my life. It's right up there with the works of Asimov, Bradbury, and Clarke. Thanks for continuously working on this labor of love.
  11. So, I know your September BDB anniversary is coming up, and I thought should get you all a present. I should have texturing for it finished tonight.
  12. Interesting. I could have sworn an earlier version of the LEM had the ascent sit well on the descent stage. Perhaps the attachment node for the top of the descent could be moved slightly upward. Either way, thanks for all the unsung work that you do, @Jso you're the John Aaron of this superb mod.
  13. @Jso Hey, as we're getting all of the 1.1.3 fixes rolled up for testing and release, can we get a decoupler module added to the LEM descent tank? It would go a long way to streamlining the LEM one-stop low part count mentality.
  14. @CobaltWolf Did the team ever decide whether to add a decoupler to the LEM descent stage? It would ease part count and contribute to the "non-LEM parts need not apply" mentality of the craft.
  15. SSTS-2 has completed its mission to put the KEOsat1 constellation in keosynchronous orbit around Kerbin. Using an ET+, Shuttle Appalachian was able to reach a ~375km orbit after its orbital piggyback from Booster Mississippi. Once on orbit, the crew of SSTS-2 launched KEOsat1-1 and 1-2 and then spent nearly two days in space performing experiments. After the mission was completed, the first return from high orbit was performed (and it was a screamer!!!) The shuttle and crew came through unharmed at KSC. Mission Album Once again, what a blast. In simulations, I was flopping everywhere, until I realized that putting the satellite sub-assembly into the cargo bay backwards and throwing off the center of mass. Now I have an un-fueled save of my shuttle listed as Shuttle Orbiter (Empty) for payload checks for return from orbit flight.
  16. Because I'm an idiot, I decided to throw away a perfectly good Saturn Shuttle and make a new one based on the NASA concept for a fully reusable booster/orbiter shuttle combination. So, I spent the better part of the evening balancing everything out to create an insane, piloted shuttle booster that piggy-backs the orbiter into space and then returns from its suborbital hop and lands at a runway. So... I just re-finished STS-1. I beat my previous orbital altitude of ~150km with ~175km. The maiden voyage of my shuttle fleet was performed by shuttle Sierra Nevada on booster plane Colorado. (The other orbiters are Appalachian and Rocky. My second booster is Mississippi.) I used FMRS for the fly-back on STS-1 just to make sure that my setup of jet engines and delta wings could get the booster Colorado back to a KK Runway. I plan on using Stage Recovery going forward for speed of play. No need for badges again. Just wanted to say thanks for the challenge that keeps on giving. SSTS-1 Mission Album Mod List
