  1. Will there be a specific version for KSP 1.11.1 on CKAN? Or should we tell CKAN to use the 1.11.0 version? Many thanks in advance.
  2. As it stands now I am still on 1.3.1 (SSRSS) and 1.8.1 (JNSQ and stock/OPM) for the time being. Truth be told I did not spend too much time on 1.11 yet, might give it another spin as soon as some mods update.
  3. It's good advice to never mod your steam install. Just copy your KSP to another directory, play and mod it as you like, keep old installs etc. Let steam update its version of the game. Copy the new versions to your own KSP folders. Play whatever you want, at any time. Many players keep playing old versions of the game. And most seasoned players stay away from x.x.0 releases too, always wait for a hotfix or two. You save yourself a lot of headache this way. It's nice that KSP is not buond to Steam and we should take advantage of that for as long as we can. Who knows how KSP2 will handle this. As for recovering your old save file, I dont see why it shouldn't work? Maybe because the mods are missing? Wait for the mods to update and try again maybe? Best advice I can give you is to proceed as I described above from now on. Maybe steam makes 1.11.0 available?
  4. Dont think I will ever touch multiplayer. Possible exception might be when I meet and click with another KSP lover. Friendly colabs might be fun indeed. I have no desire to play with strangers and all that. Matter of fact my gaming rig is not even connected to the internet anymore.
  5. You are correct indeed. Somewhat fixed I would say. It was broken for a very long time though. Other inacceptable bugs got introduced too. As for joysticks, multiple input devices still dont work properly on KSP, even on Windows. The mod AFBW is still a must for any serious joystick user IMO. KSP just labels the buttons in a numeric way, with no correlation to input device, leading to conflicts. Obviously we all love the game, and a bugfix only release is what the community has been asking for since 1.0. Lets see if we are on the right way. Time will tell. It's nice that 1.11 got the hotifx now and is up for us to play around, history taught us to never mess with x.x.0 releases.
  6. For a few players KSP 1.3.1 is still the version of choice. (things like joystick support for Linux etc) So maybe rather the end of the golden age of 1.3? One can but hope.
  7. Oh man, will this ever stop? Thanks for all the work tho, it is much appreciated.
  8. Yes and no. You still need EVE, as this is the framework that clouds are build on. And Scatterer needs to stay too, if you want to use it. But Spectra and similar mods need to go, they might cause conflicts somewhere (in the worst case) or just add unneccesary loading time. These mods are like config collections for EVE and Scatterer etc, and JNSQ comes with its own configs. But the configs wont do anything without the base mods like EVE and Scatterer.
  9. I see, cheers. CKAN gave/suggested it to my 1.8.1 installs. No big deal, just thought I drop a note here.
  10. One of the latest updates of this mod broke some functions in my 1.8.1 installs. (stock lights would not turn on, nor change color) Reverting back to a previous version fixed it.
  11. That looks like morning- or evening light from Scatterer?? Could be wrong though
  12. Define better. Maybe share your starting specs? Not all components have a big impact on KSP performance. From my experience KSP benefits most from a quick processor. A super beefy graphics card on the other hand might just be wasted on KSP. Fast memory is always good, but 32GB is more than you'll ever need. Other user might chime in with different findings though, my experience with different components is obviously limited to what I personally tried recently.
  13. That is true indeed. Unless you have the DLCs. Then you need to keep the folder SquadExpansion too.
  14. @Sylith nice pics. Those are some good looking craft you got there. Nice builds! Cant decide which I like the best. The Laythe Rover, the Mun Habitats or the Duna Ascent Vehicle? They all look fantastic!
  15. Such a familiar tune! Just be happy that these days it usually ends up with one extra iteration. Back in the old days we were full of hope that we're on a good track. The "good" versions went from 1.0.5 to 1.1.3 to 1.2.2 to 1.3.1 (the heyday IMHO), but unfortunately that trend broke there. And on top of that some really severe bugs got introduced, but lets not go into this here. Also note that the community was asking for bugfixes over new additions ever since 0.9 I have to second what @steve_v posted - unfortunately - once more.
  16. IMO at this point the closest we have to that stable dream version is KSP 1.8.1 with all the mods to add the stuff that has been added to the stock game in the meantime (and more) and some mods to fix some bugs/shortcomings. Or even 1.3.1 if you will. A new KSP version with the focus entirely on bug fixes is what this community here has been asking for ever since 1.0.0. Maybe one day somebody will listen?
  17. Hmm, I see. Thank you very much, I appreciate your time.
  18. Thanks for the insights guys, appreciate it. Keeping the mod lists in line with my KSP installs is standard operating procedure here. I follow the Kopernicus develpment too. I am just completely out of the loop with the JNSQ news, as the 1.8.1 install just plays and runs very good. Never felt the need to move on with that install. @panarchist those performance changes in 1.10 you mention, did they make a noticeable difference for you, on JNSQ?? (if yes, what kind of hardware do you run if I may ask??)
  19. Dear JNSQ fans, lovers and creators, I have been happily playing my 1.8.1 JNSQ install ever since the release. Needless to say the planet pack is amazing, we all love it and have nothing but thanks and praises for the team. Now I wonder if I would benefit in any way in updating the install to a more current version of KSP. What is the verdict of the community? Wait for 1.11.1 as is our habit? Look into 1.10.1 for some new KSP framework benefit? Thank you very much in advance
  20. Congratulations! Not an easy thing to do. Well done! Have they started asking for a ride home yet?? Good luck and keep it up!
  21. That is terrible. Maybe EVA another Kerbal and try to bump him back to the ship? As for previous versions, you can roll them back on steam or you can copy your install somewhere else and always play the version you want. KSP works independend from steam. Many players keep playing old installs and have steam update their steam install, grab copies of those new versions as time goes by and eventually start playing a new version once a worthwile one comes about.
  22. Thank you very much for taking the time! I appreciate it a lot.
  23. Hello everybody, I couldn't find a better place to post this, please move/delete/whatever if anyone is not happy with this here: What are the requirements/dependencies for running OPT on KSP 1.8.1 nowadays?? many thanks in advance for any help. Daf
