  1. I have Fan Art, mostly Jool-related, because gas giants are fun to draw in GIMP, and Jool is generally beautiful. Jool and Laythe. Jool viewed from Laythe's atmosphere above its ocean, with a rocket-zeppelin prototype spacecraft in the foreground. Laythe at night over the same tract of sea, well-lit by planetshine from the massive Jool looming overhead. Jool and Bop.
  2. Low velocity gas, of course, like from an Ant engine! The Soundtrack Editor mod, once it is updated. There was a bug in the last release that made it unusable for me (the playlist jumping to the next song after pausing and unpausing the game), and then 1.2 broke it, but if/when it is working, it is the only (that I know of), and a great, mod to add to, replace, etc. the stock music and make many new playlists activating at different times. When I am not listening to the stock or no music while playing KSP, I listen to Kerbal Space Program Re-Score. I cannot stress how much I like it, and the need for a music overhaul that this game has. The re-done main theme may have ruined my like of the stock main theme, due to sounding very much better.
  3. I reentered an OKTO core just yesterday with the 0.625 meter heatshield perfectly fine in career, after landing unmanned on three biomes of the Mun, and returning to LKO with spare fuel before reentry. I didn't take any completely-head-on screenshots, but looking at it head on, it appeared quite streamline with almost nothing sticking out, too.
  4. With 1.2 now officially out, I began to continue my 20% science, funds, and reputation career save. The first thing to do was put the stayputnik probe core on the Vacuum Vortex ship at Minmus in hibernation, now that this feature was available and Kerzer in control rather than the probe core. With that, I landed Kerzer Kerman on Minmus, with him discovering with unusual joy that flags that are pushed over can be moved, too, like very light parts. After heading home, I used the science to unlock the skipper engine's 90 science node. I then built a craft, the Aemestrous (the name is named after nothing at all; it is just an original name), with the new fuel flow mechanic (no fuel ducts, which I haven't unlocked yet) to have over 3/4 of a Jumbo 64's worth of fuel with a skipper, in a clump of 1.25 tanks radially mounted on the center 1.25 meter stack. The design mostly stayed the same for the vacuum craft, though the newer untested version has minor improvements to it. With this, Valentina flew by the Mun for the explore contract, before I took a break to re-install visual mods, and then headed Val to Minmus. In the middle of this, I also took a break, in Sandbox, to create a new 3-engine variation of the PocketSub, that I have planned the creation of since 1.1 prerelease. Billy-Bobfrey in particular didn't like it's cramped cockpit. Finally, I used my new left-over Minmus science from the last two missions to research the fixed solar panel tech, and to research the Oscar B, Ant, and Spark tech. To not make that research go to waste, I produced a satellite to launch to keostationary orbit for communications relaying. The first one didn't have the fuel for much more than an apoapsis half-way to keostationary, and a low periapsis, but 4 handy "Flea" boosters on the bottom gave the second satellite enough fuel for keostationary, with half of its fuel to spare. I would've used the much lighter stayputnik probe core, but the probe launcher stage didn't have enough control authority and stability (the launcher could use some struts, which I don't have unlocked yet) to not have stability assist. By the way, Squad added a great new Ant plume to stock! (note: most of this was done over the weekend or yesterday, and none of it today, but I will start playing KSP after posting this post)
  5. @V7 Aerospace I have re-imagined your drawing for you! @Pine states he will still eventually re-imagine your drawing, but in the meantime, enjoy this! It is complete with way too much effort/little details on everything, which is evident if you take a much closer look at the probe rover, Kerbin, or even Minmus' flats! (some details may be less evident than others, such as the atmospheric scattering on Kerbin) Don't forget: Anybody can criticize/suggest/compliment if they so wish! EDIT: Alternate version with better lighting--- in spoiler (because every time does there have to be an alternate version)(@Pine mind putting the alternate version, or both, in the OP under me? Thanks in advance, and I love your latest drawing)
  6. After finally discovering a fix for the slight exploding malfunctions on my new mothership, now named The Star Sapphire Mothership, construction was mostly complete, and trials began. After adding moar! engines, finding there was still not enough TWR, and then adding Vectors to boost the Rhinos, it was no longer bound to Kerbin's clutches! I thought certainly that it would need moar! fuel and engines, or a redesign for better aerodynamics, as surely something as massive and complex as this craft cannot make it to orbit on the first try, right? I was wrong. It actually reached orbit! Not without there being only 30000 units of liquid fuel left in orbit. I spent a good deal of time taking screenshots of it, and three are in the below spoiler. In the spoiler below this text are two gifs showcasing the ship's working cargo bay and concealable cupolas. But now I have ran into the problem. This ship has little fuel left in orbit, and despite being an SSTO to LKO, it still cannot SSTO to Minmus. After doing the math, I realized that with full fuel, there are 128 of the largest stock fuel tank's worth of fuel. How is one supposed to refuel that, and how many more fuel tanks and engines does the 9000 ton ship need to partially negate the 350 tons of useless-except-aesthetics cargo bay part mass, enough for the ship to be capable of self-refueling on Minmus? The current next steps for me appear to be to create a refueler, and to improve the size of the current design.
  7. I extremely like that hexa-legged-wheeled-thud-boosted rover. Nice job by Squad in general with this teaser trailer, those were quite cool satellites.
  8. You need not make a video, if it is the one that was your own and not a request. Do what you want to do, though, and I am not forcing you to do anything
  9. It is beautiful! Are those cyrovolcanoes I see everywhere? "Hazard-ish's Eeloo config" needs to be a mod! We Want It!
  10. Since I had been busy earlier this week, which I felt too busy to do a cartoon re-imagining, I used filters and tricks to re-imagine one of my own screenshots in a different style, most noticeably sticking the Triangulum Galaxy in/as the background. I quite very much ignored that the in-game Sun's light is probably (I am not certain) brighter than that of the background galaxy and prohibiting sight of it, if this were realistic. Instead, I just added a different sun flare. Original:
  11. So nice is it to know that 1.2 was not released today: another week at least do we have for quality of life improvements and other even better-than-quality-of-life-improvements suggestions to be added (not to mention bug fixing, also important)!
  12. Is this for all contracts generated in mission control, that have been in mission control when it was entered by the player at least once, but never accepted before the deadline? Or is it for all contracts that were clicked on in mission control but never accepted before the deadline? Either way it sounds good
  13. Over the summer, I taught myself (I am completely self-taught in online drawing) how to draw planets (with a main focus on gas giants) in GIMP. I have more, but at the moment I'll just post the ones already uploaded to imgur. Starting with the below one was when I was finally good at drawing planets (though my second planet drawing ever was also surprisingly nice), and I'll show my earlier not-as-good attempts on a later date when I have more time to upload them. Below: My first try with a gas giant containing a visible pole. This one below is my favorite. The one above and the one below are my other two favorites, depicting a similar or the same gas giant system. Above: The first time I made an earth-like planet with terrain rather than only water. Above: A newer atmosphere and cloud style I figured out how to make after experimenting with filters, for those times when I feel like drawing something with a more realistic atmosphere and clouds. (this above, last one I made on someone else's computer, who happened to upload it to roblox where I retrieved it, thus I don't have full resolution)
  14. If I can get my mothership to actually work, I have space (inside the cargo bays that are used as doors for the massive cargo bay) where I could put those, along with simplistic several-part science data return ejection capsules utilizing the new 0.625 meter heatshields (only problem is my mothership is in sandbox, so I need to A: get it to work and B: work my way to late in my career save). Nice idea!
  15. I have created something aesthetically-revolutionary... (potentially-monotonous details on everything are in spoilers) But cannot get anything using it to work without turning into a nuclear blast... Yet.
  16. @Stongduke I have re-imagined your drawing for you! @Pine will still eventually get to do the same drawing in his style, but in the meantime, enjoy this hopefully similarly-but-differently-styled re-imagined drawing! I spruced up the battery with a CommNet Display (like that being added in 1.2 to the HUD) and Battery Indicator, among other things in the re-imagined style MoreStars Edition (no reflected light from Kerbin and Mun acting as light pollution preventing star visibilty, even though I was already lenient with this): http://i.imgur.com/vwpNDvq.png @Pine Mind adding me to the list of contributers? Edit: Feel free to criticize my drawings to help me get better (such as how bad I am at drawing gravioli detectors and barometers)
  17. Mind sharing what you did to make that screenshot look like that please? We would like to know here.
  18. (even though by now you have drawn a non-transparent atmosphere) Use GIMP. I used to use pixlr, and converted to GIMP (originally for countryballs, which I couldn't make at all in pixlr but could do well in GIMP). It works very well for drawings in my opinion (such as http://i.imgur.com/JzJDkV4.png, where the transparency on some things is clearly visible. You can draw with a brush set to a transparency value, or just change the transparency of an entire layer). Speaking of GIMP and drawings, @Pine's video on re-imagining my screenshot made me realize what the use of the "Ink" tool on GIMP is, despite @Pine not using GIMP! It was a tool I previously had deemed "useless" before now. I tried adding something onto a more-realistic-styled drawing of Jool and Laythe I made earlier in the week, and created this, which I turned into this. Knowing the use of that tool and seeing the openings for re-imaginers on this thread, I started to re-imagine someone's screenshot! The re-imagining style is clearly different than my other styles and resembles @Pine's in a way because I used the same tracing method with the same type of brush, but still works for me too!I guess now I have three planetary styles. Currently, the screenshot I decided to re-imagine, unfinished looks like this: I left off coloring the battery, which has a battery indicator, along with a small CommNet display that will resemble what is being put into the top right corner in 1.2. Also @Pine the new OP doesn't include your speedpaint videos.
  19. Yea! As of half a minute ago the video is here! Time to watch! Edit: @Pine Since I didn't mention it yet, I'll state it here: I am amazed by the quality of your re-imagining of my screenshot (and many of the other recent drawings, such as sharpspoonful's shuttle, which is also breathtaking). So many great new additions that weren't possible in KSP itself are there...
  20. I already love it! All the little details too hard to make in KSP (like the front of the roof and the solar panel being curved, the actual large door rather than my "ladder at the bottom of the large open window in place of a door", the smoother round truck front, etc. (you added quite a large amount of great details to the screenshot)), the other small improvements (such as the ladder on the trailer), and the OMB logos, are all perfect. I cannot wait to see it in color!
  21. It won't upload images for me when I try to on Chrome but it otherwise works. It used to work for uploading images before the recent Imgur update on Chrome... This is getting slightly off topic though...
  22. Another scratchpad update a minute ago... Maybe the update will be any minute now, or half-an-hour, if not tomorrow (I expect tomorrow as being more reasonable, but am hyping possibly sooner)
  23. No it isn't! It is at all-time highs! We may be getting 1.2 prerelease extremely soon, maybe even less than 5 minutes!
  24. I wouldn't say another... its the first update to the prerelease in general since the 1.1 prerelease, which steam said earlier was 5 months ago, but... YOU ARE CORRECT! THERE IS AN UPDATE TO THE PRERELEASE BRANCH! Maybe we'll get 1.2 prerelease tonight...! Edit:As I was posting this, it turned into another update, as another update to the prerelease branch came out! Maybe we'll be getting KSP 1.2 prerelease in 5 minutes...
