  1. This is KSP. Do you really expect the amount the balloons would be able to lift to be anything like irl? Plus a "few" probably translates to "as many as my computer can handle" or just one GIANT one using procedural parts or something. Point is, an extra mechanic or part is never going to be a negative thing really. People can simply not use it if they don't like it OR they can get creative like the rest of us. Thinking about it, I bet a balloon part would come in SUPER handy for Eve returns.
  2. anybody can strap a few boosters to a rocket... I'm failing to see your point with that one. It's just yet another thing to do in game plus im sure the community would find some really unique ways of using them
  3. Hmm.. I don't really find launching utterly huge contraptions or 1000 part rockets impressive. At all. I was, however, hugely impressed by this cool design.

  5. Same, though I think ALL of mine are 1.5 or lower. My kerbals have an easy G experience.
  6. no but you won't be EVA'ing whilst skimming through an atmosphere. I agree though, this is an annoying experience sometimes.
  7. Disagree with that entirely. At least balloons have been used in concepts for atmospheric rocket launches and upper atmosphere/edge of space study. High atmosphere balloons are MUCH more closely related to KSPs intent that submarines, not further away. @Cassel you should also note that balloons do NOT reach orbit. They go to the edge of space and that is it.
  8. I'd sooner have the ability to select multiple craft at once in the tracking station... I only delete debris on suborbital trajectories
  9. beyond possible OR... I imagine OP has something like Skyrim's Creation Kit in mind. Doesn't seem that inconceivable, though obviously models and textures are created elsewhere.

  11. You might need to rephrase the title... for a start I thought you meant stock game shuttles, not the stock craft files. I agree that stock craft file shuttles are fairly bad, but there are arguments for stock game shuttles - especially in a mid career mode game

  13. Whilst that is true, it somewhat misses the point that more people think you're wrong, at least in terms of Pylon length. I do agree that the whole engine is a bit too big for the other parts in the game though
  14. Have a google of A380 engine and 747 engine. Look how far forwards of the wing those engines sit... the Goliath engine pylon isn't "rediculous" at all. It is accurate. Also, see this thread
  15. Generous offer! Hmm... I do like blue and white, but that seems a little bit too common maybe? I do like the grey of the stock Winter Owl flag though. Not sure about geometric shapes... probably circles, but I do love a good curve or swish Wording... maybe "L7 Industries" or "L7 Aerospace"

  17. This is incredible stuff! I think I'm going to build one into a interplanetary ship - its a bit like an Alcubierre drive... crazy physics but works! Is there a reason for having so many reaction wheels on your design though?
  18. Sorry, despite a few thousand hours of gameplay this sort of KSP engineering is a little out of my depth. Can somebody explain what in the name of Jehovah is going on here? The thing defies game physics right? Creates ludicrous thrust from almost nowhere? Any good videos of one in action?

I think building the present or very near future... like adding the Dragon Capsule, CST 100, Orion, maybe Dreamchaser style parts, BlueOrigin stuff, more telescope parts like JWST (add stock hinges to celebrate the fold-able portion of this), stock inflatable modules like Bigelow's parts, some better landing legs and airbrakes/fins like SpaceX's - these are all parts that could easily be added, actually exist and have reason to be part of a DLC celebrating the current boom in the aerospace industry Yes, I know these parts exist as mods, but so did most of MH.
  20. this is one of the reasons I don't use shrouds. You have two options, turn the shroud toggle off OR, my preferred option, use the other node to connect parts to heat shields They have one which creates the shroud or a gap if you turn the shroud off, and a second node on the same side much close to the shield itself, which the connecting part will be flush with... just in case you didn't already know this
  21. Depends if the account in question is owned by a citizen of the EU or not. If the website isn't run by Europeans or in a EU country and the account owner isn't from the EU or in the EU, they should be absolutely fine because it hasn't nothing to do with the EU whatsoever. However, if I (being from the UK) requested this same thing, then I'm not sure how they stand with EU law. I'm fairly certain one would have to send a very serious complaint to the EU to get it looked at... BUT, I'm fairly sure that whoever is responsible for the forum knows what they're doing in relation to the new laws Darn good point though!
  22. I have two save files. The first is a sandbox mode game called "BlackBox Testing" - I think it is pretty self explanatory what I do with that one. My hardcore career mode game (no reverts, no quicksaves, no respawns etc) is called "L7 Aerospace", or sometimes "L7 Industries" (I restart a lot). I realise "Aerospace" is used quite a lot and IMO "Industries" doesn't sound that nice (more like a greedy corporation from a Blade Runner spin off). So I'm kinda looking for inspiration but mostly I'm just curious! (in b4 sexuality jokes). So what's your agency/save called? P.S. This has been asked before, but I'm not into necromancy unless I'm playing a modded Skyrim Edit: For those of you that have cool custom flags... how did you design them? I've got the graphics skills of a nematode =/
