1. Honestly, I'm more than satisfied with 1.0.5. By the time 1.1 comes out, I know I'll enjoy it because they took extra time to make it. Besides, have YOU ever developed a game? Ever had to update it? It takes work to rewrite the entire backbone of the game. Cut them some slack.
2.
Well, not with stock wheels and chassis parts. They just are not large enough to give you the traction you need when driving from one world to another.
XD But yeah, I think you're right. My rover was halfway from Kerbin to Duna but then its tires blew out. A real shame.
3. Really no reused vehicles from game to game, but I have reused some rockets to take landers to Minmus, as well as a few satellite launchers
4.
o/ Ha, I do that all the time. Even if I'm watching someone stream I'm clicking on the screen and trying to rotate the view so I can see what I want. Once or twice while watching streamers I've hit the "M" button on my keyboard to look at the orbit or intercepts, completely forgetting I'm not the one playing ..... I seem to remember a bug like this awhile ago where I had one rocket that would constantly blow up at around 30k on takeoff. F3 would always show something striking the launch pad, weird thing was that all my other rockets never had that problem, it was just that one.
Yeah, sometimes the game gets wonky with individual rockets. One time I had a rocket that crashed the game whenever I loaded it in the editor. It was moderately sized, but not too big. Sometimes the game had a bad habit of just loading said rocket whenever I opened the VAB, crashing immediately.
5. This is seriously an awesome story. At first, I rooted for the USKK, cause, you know, Jeb, but now I kinda like the other guys (forget the acronym) more. Interesting choice not having Jeb fly any rockets, but I like it. Bravo!
6. Speaking of haul contracts, am I the only one getting ridiculous contracts that would never be worth the time? Like hauling a Flea SRB up to 50,000 meters and going at 2,200 m/s
7.
No, there is no way you can lose rep (except if a moderator takes it away from you, but unless you cheated it, this is not going to happen). Some time ago, negative rep existed in the forum; but after a dark story involving the Nemesis of one of our beloved moderators, it was removed...
Okay, thanks for telling me :)
8.
Trying to transport Jeb's statue ;) http://i.imgur.com/7ZjsiC9.jpg
We must praise the almighty Giant Jeb. Yesterday, I started a new career mode. For some reason, I'm having an embarrassing amount of trouble getting into orbit with no building upgrades... I unlocked the LV-909, so that helps, but I neglected to get any radial decouplers. In my last attempt, I was just a few m/s of Delta V short.
9.
It should be in Kerbal Network, but what it does is adds points, and at certain point levels, you get green bars added. - - - Updated - - - After five dark green bars, you get light green bars. - - - Updated - - - This has some good info: http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/95623-9-8-2015-Update%21-Say-Hello-to-the-Light-Green-Group%21
Alright, thanks. Does giving reputation reduce your own?
10. My first "big" mission, before I got good enough at the game to plan Mun encounters (I sucked at the game. Still do), was to send a probe into VERY close orbit of the sun. I used an ion engine for the entire burn to reduce my periapse and apoapse. It was AWFUL. The whole day I had it running, checking in. I think I gave up when periapse was still like a couple hundred thousand meters from the sun. Just... awful.
11. What does giving somebody reputation on their post do? Sorry if this is in the wrong spot, Idk where to put questions about the forum.
12.
Its not cheating... But it is harrassment and discrimination.. See the way I see it.. KSP is a steam game mostly...one of the best selling ones... So whoever thought it would be awesome to have ugly blue and red lines grow from your spaceship when you just want to take a steam linked screenshot...I think had thier head screwed on backwards that day.. Yes it can be changed but its an affliction effecting many less savy of the PC master race..Perhaps itlll appear when you press...up... On the xbox edition :) Furthermore.. The ugly yellow text that then without any grace.. Applys itself to said screenshot turning beautiful vistas of trees..trains and mountains into a questionably titled captions.. In my case that trains wont fly willingly nor safely while blue and orange triangles dance around the wheelsets seemingly taunting my poor locomotive that galaxy railways she is not... Saddens me greatly Is it cheating? Well if I wanted to ruin a beautiful screenshot with inapproprate text... I would simply create a meme :) Indeed...perhaps it is one.. Im waiting for the day that the internet is filled with memes..each scribbled with blue yellow and red lines...covered with "aerodynamic forces" display text But...for willingly diagnosing aircraft suitability.. Nope not cheating and why does it matter? ;)
Oh man... ruining screenshots.. happened to me far to many times. Eventually I just bound aero forces to F1 or something, free to screenshot in peace.
13.
Environmentally conscious, eh? http://i.imgur.com/OmyV3.png
... *Hands you crown made of trash and toxic waste* You win Pollution. Hey, everyone always wanted Kerbin to have rings, right? Right?
14. Um... I recover crashed planes? But seriously, for the most part, I am pretty messy. Stages left in orbit, accidentally broken landers, shattered Mun rover debris, it's enough to make a Greenpeace member's brain melt.
15. Put the Frostbite 1 lander in Minmus orbit, gonna land tomorrow if I have the time.
16. It makes getting to other planets faster. By this, I mean it makes PLANNING getting there faster. Takes a lot longer to work the maneuver nodes if you're disregarding transfer windows.
17.
It is easier to get to and orbit Mun but much, much easier to land on Minmus. So now you know, that when you get there, you'll have an easy time of it :-)
Yeah, I find it a thousand times easier to get to Minmus and back. Once you get the hang of making maneuver nodes, it's much easier than a Mun mission. Case in point: Landed on the Mun 6 times, got back twice. Landed on Minmus over 15 times, got back every time.
18. I just landed a pilot on the Mun with it yesterday. I don't think I had any reaction wheels other than the ones in the lander. It worked fine.
19. Hitting stage when landed and decoupling the lander from the fuel
20. I landed on the Mun, for the first time in forever. Like, the first time since beta. Gregbles Kerman bravely conquered the Mun, using the Phage, a new, two-stage lander design. T'was probably the most fun and luckiest landing I've ever done. The first part of the rocket, though unstable, carried the Phage into orbit and partway to the Mun. The transfer stage took over, getting us there with plenty of fuel to make orbit. Once in orbit, I used the last bit of the transfer stage to slow us down over the landing spot and begin the descent. I slowed down pretty well despite being rusty at landing. Had trouble with the very last step of landing, lander, being fairly tall, kept tipping over right on touchdown, had to reload a few times. Gonna need to tweak the design. Finally, I was landed. Ladders down, solar panels out, Gregbles took the first steps on the Mun in 1.0.whatever. After 9 days landed, I left. IDK how you all feel about it, but in my opinion, reentry is FUN!!! It was such a nail-biting, nerve-wracking experience sending the now smaller Phage (ditched the landing gear and descent stage), through the atmosphere. I had to shift the lander every few seconds to prevent one side's solar panels and RCS tanks from overheating. Very fun. Then I landed, and the end. On one hand, I feel sad that it took me so long to actually have a decent Mun landing, but I'm also very happy. EDIT: Dangit, a much better, cooler Mun landing was posted before me. Also, sorry for no pictures. I'll try and get it sorted out sometime.
21. Why didn't anyone tell me making a base on Minmus at a low latitude would be a bad idea? seriously though, the tale of my minmus base is quite the story.
22. I have an "Elon Kerman" in one game save.
23.
Yeah Bill, that's pretty freaking cool! And KerbMav, congratulations to you for finally finding a useful application for that part. (Why am I suddenly feeling so futile?)
I sometimes make microsatellites using it...
24.
There is so much I've never done in KSP it's embarrassing (when I bought the game Squad had just added the Mun). I saw a blog the other day that I thought was amusing, someone (sorry I'm horrible with names) made a rocket with 1 of every part (except science parts), as predicted it blew up on the launch pad when physics kicked in. After seeing that I thought it might be a fun challenge to create a rocket with only 1 of every part (except fuel lines, struts, and launch stabilizers .. use as many as needed on those 3 parts) and try to get an orbit of at least 70 x 70 around Kerbin. But I'll probably never get around to it ... so yeah, that's something else I've never done :D
ONLY 1? So I can't have multiple of the same engine?
