*excited screeching*
There may be TWO extra planets around GJ 1132! One of which orbits near the habitable zone!
-
Unfortunately, they could not find any transits of GJ 1132 c with the Spitzer telescope. I'm under the assumption that c's orbit is only a few degrees more inclined than b's, which would mean its actual mass would be closer to about 3 times that of Earth. It could be an ocean world, as GJ 1132 b appears to have a LOT of water in its atmosphere. GJ 1132 c might have even more, which could prevent it from becoming a Super-Venus (highly reflective cloud layer and low amounts of carbon dioxide would cool the "surface" and prevent all the water from evaporating).
Some online news article published last April about GJ 1132b's atmosphere used one of my Space Engine renditions of the planet I made (and released) around the same time. If you happen to get any not-Forum-appropriate ads...sorry.

Two planets for Luyten's star, one potentially habitable! A new planet of GJ 3293! One more two-planet system and two three-planet systems! All around red dwarfs! How did this slip under the radar of online news outlets!

@electricpants About 0.376 times the size of our Sun.

@Gameslinx @AndrewDrawsPrettyPictures @StarCrusher96 @The White Guardian Will any of you be available to fix the test versions of Upsilon Kandromedae 0.1 and IA-Revived 1.3? I just need help fixing atmosphere curves and making sure the surface doesn't go dark in direct sunlight (I have no idea why that happens to some planets and not others). As of right now I have the UK test version ready; the TV for Interstellar Adventure Revived should be ready within the next few weeks.
I've been making enormous planet packs completely solo for over a year now, and now I definitely need assistance.

@Spaceception K2-3d (or "Galene", as I nicknamed it) does have a pretty big iron core. I wonder what kind of atmosphere can be created from a habitable zone iron planet...

Okay fine forget it.

1980: I bet in 2018 there will be flying cars and a cure for cancer.
2018:

2200 rep!
Okay, that's a lot. I probably won't do any rep-reporting status updates until 3k, aka not until 2018.
-
500 rep! I'm halfway there!
(Also, how the duck did I get 502 rep out of nowhere? I didn't see anything about +4 rep in my notifications!)

55 Cancri e (Janssen) has a rather thick atmosphere, with a surface pressure of 1.4 bars - equivalent to 1.38 Earth atmospheres. This rules out any models of this thing being a volatile-rich planet, as it would likely have a much thicker atmosphere.

A little bird came to congratulate me on the end of the school year.
Now it's stuck in my patio and making a ruckus. It almost flew into my head and doesn't understand that there are openings for it to escape. Dang birds.

Well at least I'm starting school after Labor Day for the first time since Hurricane Irene. And what would you know - same hurricane name list this year! If I happen to get hit by a tropical cyclone with the name that replaced Irene I will...uh...I don't know, do something. Probably complain a lot because I would likely lose some great observing nights.

A new pulsar planet was found! Yay! One little problem: It's very similar to the "giant diamond planet" PSR J1719-1438 b, being a Jovian-mass planet orbiting very close to the central star. The new find, PSR J2322-2650 b, is 252.6 times the mass of Earth and orbits once every 0.322964 days (7.75 hours). Not as extreme as the diamond planet, but also likely a bizarre and incredibly rare Hyper-Earth.

Alright, some Kopernicus modding updates:
I'm really not too sure if I should start a new forum page for IA-Revived or wait for the devs to restore it. Either way, I'm working on update version 1.1, which will revamp multiple textures (thanks to a better computer), add PQS Terrain detail, and fix up many atmospheres.
I will postpone the development of ProtoJeb's Planets until I have scientifically confirmed planets. This probably won't be the case until February. However, I will need help with making gas giant textures.
I have different ways I'm going to texture my planets, depending on the mod:
- IA-Revived will have high-res, edited Space Engine textures for a realistic yet Kerbal feel.
- Kumar's Dwarf Stars and Kluster will have Kittopia-made textures for an exaggerated, fantastical, and Kerbal feel to the planets.
- ProtoJeb's Planets will have textures very similar to real-life objects, like what @Galileo did in his pack. I want these objects to be a similar to their real-life counterparts as possible. Maybe this should be a RSS mod....
That's just some of the stuff I think I should do. Opinions?

An "ozone layer" has been found on an exoplanet...but it's not what you would expect.

And now, the really big thing I foreshadowed for today! Well, actually, it's a few things.
First is this image I took of the Moon on 9/10/16. I'm tempted to make this my new avatar. What do you guys think?
Secondly, I GOT THE REAL COPY OF JOURNAL 3! I've been waiting to get this thing for weeks, and it does not disappoint.
Thirdly, I've done some other things regarding IA-Revived, Planet Hunters, and ProtoJeb's Planets. Secrets to all three are in the picture of Journal 3. I also have some ciphers for you guys to crack, which also contain secrets. (I know, I'm a die-hard Gravity Falls fan) Keep an eye out of a certain key in one of the drawings...

Congrats for solving the code! You get the big reveal:
A few weeks ago I found what appeared to be a planet transit in the light curve of a tiny orange dwarf. It had 51% the Sun's radius and a temperature of 4300 kelvin. I went through the data and found two planets, each about three quarters the size of Earth. The first orbits every 28.0 days and the second orbits every 90 days. Planet 2, nicknamed Feronia, appears to be smack in the star's habitable zone!
(Also, for some reason, I find a lot of planets with years around 90 days)
Now I can also say that I found what appears to be IPH-6. I can't investigate that system nor Feronia's system because of a glitch with Planet Hunters. Bummer.

Around 100 newly validated K2 planets! Several of my systems (EPIC 201528828, EPIC 212157262, EPIC 228801451) have been validated as actual multi-planetary systems!

Does anyone remember my really old mod, the Othrys Planet Pack? If you don't...that's expected. I stopped working on it nearly 2 years ago. However, I've been recently considering a redo of the mod, which I would start after IA-Revived 1.3, Upsilon Kandromedae*, and the Exoplanet Explorers pack are released or almost finished. Here are the features that I will likely be implementing:
-All the new planets will orbit around a white dwarf called Othrys.
-The original planet Othrys will be renamed Othrys Prime.
-Almost all the objects and ideas from the original mod will be transferred over.
-Several life-supporting planets and moons.
-Possibly a distant red dwarf.
*The first version of UK is 99% finished. Just have to wrap a few things up before release.

@EricL @UranianBlue I'll try out those techniques where I continue retexturing for IA-Revived 1.3. Depending on how they turn out I may use one method or the other for future projects, including the OPP.
