Quite Kerbal: Anyone know what launch is this?
  2. Click on the USA and see what it says.
  3. I just noticed that you can click on every item and get a description of it... Cool.
  4. Most fascinating for me is that the combined height of all humans on earth is about the same as the diameter of Pollux.
  5. Everything from planck length to the size of the observable universe in one flash animation... I have seen this before but they made a new version with much more stuff. http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/589217 Just thought it was interesting and wanted to share...
  6. You mean the completely theoretical, never observed, doubtfully real always-faster-than-light particles? What about them?
  7. Put simply, and not going into details, things like time dilation, lenght constriction and other relativistic effects 'conspire' to keep a beam of light moving at C no matter what reference frame you observe it from.
  8. Coming to a velocity of zero in orbit does not seem very fuel efficient to me, correct me if I\'m wrong... I found that this trick helps me a lot to land on the mun with zero lateral velocity, and I almost never need to use RCS: When you turn your ship retrograde but move the ship a bit to the left or right so that the retrograde icon is not precisely centered on the navball, as you apply thrust the retrograde icon will start moving directly away from the center of the navball. As you descend, you position your ship so the retrograde icon is located directly between the center of the navball (your 'heading') and the little dot on the 'north pole' of the navball (in the center of the blue navball hemisphere). As you thrust, the retrograde icon will move towards the center dot. When the retrograde icon aligns with the center dot, you have zero (+/- 1 or 2 m/s depending on your precision) lateral velocity. Then you align your heading with the same dot and keep thrusting down to land. Of course, you do all this while you are descending, slowly decelerating all the way, slowly moving your ship towards the vertical. I usually put myself in a stable orbit around the mun, wait until I am in a position to land where I want and then decelerate just enough so that my orbit intersects the desired landing spot. I start to burn off lateral velocity as described when i reach an altitude of 50-100 km, depending on the acceleration of my ship.
  9. Of course it will reach the target, its just that (if the target is directly ahead of you) it will reach it at the same time as you.
  10. Light always (ALWAYS! No exceptions, no substitutions) travels at the speed of light, the only thing that changes when the object that emits light increases its speed is the wavelength of the emitted light (so called red/blueshifting). So if you fire a beam directly ahead of you while moving at the speed of light (which you can\'t, because you would have infinite mass and TIME WOULD STOP COMPLETELY so you would be frozen but lets say you can), it will just pile up in front of you blueshifting to gamma radiation - no matter how long you keep the beam on, to an outside observer it would appear as a single, infinitely short burst of gama radiation - more powerful the longer you kept the beam on. If you fired the beam directly behind you, it would get redshifted far far far into the ULF frequency radio waves, probably so far that it would become undetectable (so C+-C=0 is kinda right), but it would still be there, as faint as it is, and still travelling at C.
  11. KSP noob here, but I just have to ask two things: First, how exactly did you bridge the ASAS module? I can see from the staging icons that you have a fuel line connecting the center engine to the fuel tank but I can\'t figure out how you did it. Second, what use is an ASAS in this case? As far as I understand, an ASAS does not have any stabilization properties by itself and you don\'t have any RCS, gimbaled engines or winglets for it to control...
  12. Ja sam iz Srbije, ali aj\' da se javim... Nadam se da je OK.
  13. Hi all, just had to register. OMG, I got soo hooked on this game. It\'s great. I managed to land on the Mun and return to Kerbin on my second day, using the guide from the wiki. Anyway, I can\'t wait to see the progress of the game since the planned additions look very promising indeed.
