  1. How does the game assign the role of pilot, scientist and engineer. It has to be based on the name somehow but sometimes I can name a kerbal the exact same and it gives them two different roles.
  2. I've been playing the same since the first public concept demo and I really enjoy seeing the direction the game is going in but I have one problem which pretty much destroys any fun I have in the game. The tech tree... The way the tech tree is set up still feels like a temporary fix and it destroys any fun you can have in the career mode. There is no randomness to it and there is no actual research. You just buy groups of unrelated tech with a research currency. I would rather see a tech system more similar to that in a x^3 game (explore expand exterminate). Something like in Sword of the Stars or Masters of Orion. You select a category and research over time based on how much money and how much research in related fields you put into it. The problem with the current system is that if you want to build a plane or something with wheels you have to put a ton of research into completely unrelated and unwanted tech. It would also be nice if there was a bit of randomness to the parts you research. I know there was a huge stink about parts needing to be universal for space ship consistency between players but really that is not needed for career mode. Keep all the parts at 100% in sandbox if you must but allow different levels of the same part in career. SO you might research an specific engine and that engine might become more powerful / better fuel efficiency if you put more research into it and level it up. There has to be a BETTER way to do the research. I hate the current way.
  3. I dont think I have ever used a quick save. It makes getting out to other locations a lot harder but you dont really notice if you are not used to the quicksaves anyways. I guess it is one of the by products of playing the early versions before it was added.
  4. At this point just being able to observe another person's game would be a huge plus. After that being able to tag along as a +1 in a shuttle and move around after they land or in orbit in EVA. I dont really care about the time skip feature. In a game like this you probably are not going to crash a random person's MP game so even only allowing the server host to control the time would be fine by me.

    Let's push KSP!

I can easily recommend the game to people but the rules on this forum make it hard to recommend let alone keep people coming here. Luckily there are other forums better suited for legitimate discussions. This forum is mainly for tracking dev progress and taking note of all the things locked/removed/reprimanded.
  6. If you just start a new thread every time it gets locked what is the point of locking it?
  7. They have not updated the .17 patch thread in two weeks or so. It is possible they are working on the planets and stuff before they figure out the new parts. It would be hard to balance the new parts without knowing what you need to get from planet to planet.
  8. Yes, this is exactly ture. It should have been patched immediately but for whatever reason they choose not to. It is so unplayable that I have stopped messing with the game until .17 comes out. I am not going to mod the game just to find a huge bug that should have been officially fixed. It also does not bode well for future patches if they brick the game and refuse to fix it for 2-3 months .
  9. Dead Hall (the guy who did Dayz) just tweeted he plays KSP. https://twitter.com/rocket2guns Thought that was pretty nice shout out by a fan.
  10. They said they had no plans to do subs. It was asked in that far grounds or bust interview and they said no but would leave it open for mods to do.
  11. This has been discussed time and time again and most people disagree with you. Steam adds a huge customer base that justifies the profit split. Steam also WOULD make buying KSP easier as it adds many payment options that are not available on KSP at the moment. It would also be a huge advertisement for the game. Steam controls more than 70% of worldwide digital game sales. (according to forbes). Many of those people ONLY buy games through steam these days. So even though steam will eat 30-40% of the profit per cop sold it comes with a HUGE customer base. The game landing on the front page and or new games section would equate to easily double the number of copies sold to date.
  12. Easy solution is to just buy it again.
  13. I disagree. I would be willing to bet money they are only playing it because they could get it for free. If they couldn't they wouldnt go out of their way to buy it. They would just find something else. I know many people with this mentality. You wont see one increase in sales by coming up with a way to prevent people like that from playing. They just wont play. Be it because they dont have the money or because they dont feel the product is worth their money. (has nothing to do with what you or I feel the product is worth.) The average pirate wont spend even 1 penny on the software they pirate if that meant they could get it legit. They pirate it because they want to pirate it not because of any other reason. You dont loose sales over people who are not going to buy your product anyways.
  14. There are probably no loss of sales in this situation as those kids who are sharing a copy probably would have never bought the copy themselves anyways (probably don't have extra money for stuff like that, I know I didnt when I was in school).
  15. You linked to a post Nova did over a year ago before he worked for Squad. (afaik) So yes, some of that is very ancient information that has changed.
  16. I just saw on the news that they are reporting Neil Armstrong died. Passing of a legend. S! http://usnews.nbcnews.com/_news/2012/08/25/13478643-astronaut-neil-armstrong-first-man-to-walk-on-moon-dies-at-age-82?lite
  17. I am not really sure you can say that is spreading false information. He was just commenting on the screenshot showing an o2 button. None of us have any more knowledge than what we are given (screen shots and limited word of mouth) so we base our speculation on that. It is unfair to get onto someone for do that in a thread dedicated to doing just that.
  18. You need a few more posts (It used to be 10) before you have full access on the forum.
  19. If Eve is the Venus stand in then you wont be able to land on it as the pressure and temperature would destroy your craft in seconds.
  20. My guess is that he just started slapping parts on until it was balanced with the new CoG UI and that is why we have a funny looking ship lol.
  21. Learned you could do that a week or so ago but I could not for the life of me get them to attach once rotated. I did a fresh install and it worked.
  22. You can go into your ksp folder and into your save directory and manually delete the parts from your persistence save file. You need to know what part it is you want to delete though. You can also go into your settings and set the debris level to 0.
  23. No, the rotated engine nacelles wont attach to anything on their side like that.
