  1. I'd say my three are: @AndrewDrawsPrettyPictures - For implementing practically all of my suggestions in his mod, and being an all-around friend. @Pine - For drawing such a nice picture of my mission report launch, and actually reading it! Thanks. @sal_vager - For giving me a TOTM, as well as being a great moderator. I would also like to thank all the readers of my mission report and those who have attempted my challenge for trying out a noob's attempts at greatness.
  2. Vega. We must have Vega. It would actually be a pretty cool place to go - you could have a few rocky dwarf planets, and a LOT of asteroids.
  3. I once dreamed that there was a KSC on Ernus in KillAshley's New Horizon's pack - it was pretty weird. (How that is relevant, I don't know) Personally, I think it would be cool to have little blue men running a space center on Laythe - maybe just as an easter egg or something. Perhaps you would be able to launch from it once you discovered it?
  4. Pop over to Danny2462's youtube channel - survival is quite difficult for those poor Kerbals.
  5. I built my very first SSTO! (Also, it reaches Kerbin orbit in UL, where Kerbin's atmosphere is 80 km instead of 70.)
  6. When your boosters burn longer than your main engine.
  7. The best advice I can give you is to write what you want to hear. It doesn't matter if no one reads it, as long as you are satisfied. (Not that no one will read it, I'm sure it'll be great!) Unless you're a pure stock guy, mods are your friend. Scatterer and Engine Lighting are two that come to mind, but there are also a lot of part packs, etc. out there that can give you just the lighting you want/need. Refer to my first response - change it, edit it, write it until you are satisfied. I did like it though - don't automatically assume that people won't like it. Kerbals and asteroids, and the planets tend to have pretty creative names. Also, a lot of sci-fi novels have good phrases you can incorporate into a title. Look at Kerbfleet: A Jool Odyssey. In addition, my mission report's title (in sig, shameless self promotion!) is entirely based off its main mod; Uncharted Lands. Hope I helped somewhat. Anyway, good luck.
  8. 74: Posting a challenge without posting your entry (this is a big one) 75: Even mentioning the term "SpaceEngine" near @KillAshley.
  9. I suppose it really depends on which mods you have.
  10. @Claw. If you'll permit the question, why are mod planets not allowed? I was kind of hoping to do an Uncharted Kerbin run.
  11. @Vonnmillard KerbolPlus was remade into the Kerbol Origins mod. It is unlikely that KerbolPlus works with 1.1.3 - don't worry, Kerbol Origins (to my knowledge) has all the planets and moons that K+ had.
  12. Hello, everyone! I am not dead (which is good!) Spoiler is at the bottom with both the story of why it took me so long and an apology to you all. But, back to CHAPTER FOUR - JEBEDIAH - MAKING ORBIT. Well, here we go! Val is going to be so jealous when she finds out that I was the first Kerb to make orbit! Sure, it was terrifying at first, because it's kind of like falling forever, which isn't a good feeling. Sure, I'm not afraid of heights - why else would I join the Space Program, but the sickening feeling of dread knowing that if you run out of fuel, you'll be stuck in space until you can no longer photosynthesize... Of course, that dread and terror is far surpassed by the amount of excitement and fame and fortune... I'm getting ahead of myself, I think. Wernher designed a very shiny new rocket - the design was incredible. There was a minor problem - the second stage started to flip over halfway through its fuel. Fortunately, the Thump BarrelsTM were more than enough to get it up to space before that happened. Orbit - there it is. The first picture from another world - the world of space. You can't really say that you've been to space until you achieve orbit, I think. If you don't, then you just visit - you haven't really experienced it. I was tempted to open the hatch and take a spacewalk, but after seeing the effects of the radiation on the KerbCam that Val took up, Gene decided that it would not only be safer, but also cheaper to not go EVA (see spoiler at bottom). Still, the view was incredible. It makes you rethink all of these boundaries that Kerbals set up. I think the space program really is a unifying force for all of Kerbalkind. If all Kerbs could see what I have seen, the world would be a better place. I'm sure of it. But then, I'm not much of a philosopher, or a scientist. Reentry went well, apart from the fact that the knuckleheads running the science department (not implying Squad are knuckleheads, life happened, and I'm trying to work it into the story) forgot to authorize the EVA, and I couldn't remotely access the SCIENCE! It burned up on reentry, so they just got my official report from space. Linus and his team were a little disappointed, but they seemed to forgive me. I have a feeling that I will be smothered with scientific equipment on my next mission - maybe I'll be flying some beat-up plane looking for contracts. Also, the recovery team was a bit annoyed that I landed on the other side of Kerbin. Hey, when you're stuck in a glorified kardine can flying through space, you don't have that much control over where you'll land. Dres looks farther off now, but we'll get there in a while. The science guys did some research on expanding our fuel options (who knew that you need science to make a bigger tank? I mean, it's just a big cylinder with flashing lights and stuff). However, SCIENCE from space is beginning to provide diminishing returns, so perhaps Minmus would be a good stop on our way to Dres and beyond. Oh, and on the topic of going beyond, the science guys think they've found a moon of Laythe. They're calling it Tylo for now, so I suppose they've finally gotten over the notion that Laythe is double-wide. Signing off from the Quarantine Room, Jeb Kerman.
  13. 31.4% (3.1/10) I've seen you before, but not much else. Perhaps I'm just being irrational. (See what I did there...)
  14. YES! I've been looking forward to another mission for, well about a month! (And yes, you are now officially a genius. And an absolutely mad one at that.) Oh, and also, WOW.
  15. My favorite Kerbal was Lagertrix. She was my first non-orange Kerbal, and she died in the line of duty crashing my second spaceplane into the water. I have yet to find her again.
  16. During my first (one-way) Eve landing, I ordered one of my Kerbals to go out on an EVA to plant a flag and stuff. Well, when I try to get back in the capsule, the ladder wasn't long enough, so the Kerbal was stranded on Eve, in an EVA suit, on a ladder. He (or she) didn't actually die until the next update rolled around. Oh, and also when I was still a newbie, I thought that w made your planes go up. So when my first plane reached the end of the runway... well, splat. EDIT: Oh, cool 100 posts for me. Yay.
  17. I'm not sure if this is really cool or really revolting...
  18. The original magic boulder should still orbit Ike, but I like the idea of having some glowing green radioactive asteroids too. Add some flair to your space junk!
  19. KASE Ven's Stock Revamp TextureReplacer What else do you need? (OK, a lot, especially if you're me.)
  20. @Gravitasi appears to be away from KSP for quite a while now, so this mod is probably on hold.
  21. What are "mill dots?" And, I suppose I'll have to rate the avatar above me, so I'll say 6.5/10. You were doing well with the protein animal thing until you reached the pink. Then it just turned into a blob.
  22. Probably @Lack's KSC++. (You need Kerbal Konstructs to make it work, too.)
